I used one of the chain locks in the apartment overnight and couldn't get out the next morning. The building is very old and there are NO emergency exits. I texted and called the host SEVERAL times. Frustrated and angry that I'd have to cancel my appointments, I contacted Vrbo. We were unsuccessful in reaching the host. He eventually texted me his cell number (the SAME one I used!!) in case of "emergency" and said he was in the bed!!!!!! The two men he sent finally cut the chain from the outside after MANY tries. I later realized that he lives on site!!!He told me I could cancel my reservation and request a refund. I am over 60, was in transition, and had a LOT of stuff from my house. Finding another place and moving all that stuff again would've elevated my cortisol level.The entire apartment was NOT renovated only the kitchen and bathroom. I fought flies and ants, washed and cleaned the filters for the window A/Cs, and cleaned the floor fan. The entire place needs to be DEEP cleaned.I took before and after pictures and videos.The location is good, quiet and safe. Restaurants, laundry, transportation, and grocery are nearby.
