My husband and I have been coming to chincoteague for many years and this is hands down the nicest house rental we’ve stayed at. Felt like someone had really loved this house; upgrades were thoughtful & well done; main floor felt very accessible for a wide age range. We brought a baby, a 2yo, and a 4yo…the house is not fully proofed for these ages but for an old house it’s pretty good. Every room in the house gets a lot of natural sunlight all day, which made house time lovely! The older kid LOVED the VHS tapes and player upstairs; she could’ve stayed all day. You get cute little boxes with travel-sized starter bottles/packets of things like shampoo, lotion, dish wash detergent, etc. but just bring what ya got from home, including hand soap & paper towels. Baby gates, packnplay, and a high chair are in the house, though we ended up not using any of them. There is no toddler cutlery. The only downside (to us) were some cleaning nitpicks. It’s a pet friendly home so all the upholstered furniture & rugs on the main floor smell like wet dog lol. They seemed clean at least. The cleaner also seemed to have missed the master bedroom on the main floor…found old kibble and a pill around the bed. Reported this to the property managers and they didn’t really take action but promptly acknowledged and apologized. The housekeeper also may not have used the right cleaner on the kitchen floor because it felt super sticky on arrival. But overall the place felt clean.
