We loved the condo! It had beautiful views of the enormous pool and the sea! The location is top notch too - right on Calle 10 within easy walking distance of everything Playa Del Carmen has to offer!

Description is accurate and the place is wonderful! Great time enjoying breakfast on the terrace and relaxing in the evening looking at the moon and ocean! Pool is great overlooking the beach! The sargasso is unfortunately present just like everywhere in the riviera! Location is just behind all the restaurants/ bars/ shops that your heart desires and can easily spend the evening strolling for hours.. Some of the club music can be faintly heard in the condo, however just adds to the festive and lively atmosphere! For activities skip the visit to xcaret and instead rent a car and go down to cenote dos ojos and chiken-ha for some unforgettable snorkeling experience. For a cultural visit, a drive to the Mayan ruins in Tulum is not bad, even better if you can make it to Chichen Itza. The host Mike was very attentive and responsive with any questions we had! Still missing that peaceful coffee time on the terrace staring at the view!! Thanks Mike!

Fantastic Condo and Location

Condo is spacious and well equipped with everything you need. Lovely patio with a little bonus rooftop area. Incredibly close walk to restaurants, shopping or just out for drinks. Highly recommend this beachfront condo.

Awesome beachfront condo!

We had the best time staying at this condo! The location couldn’t have been better and everything was exactly as it was described in the listing. The concierge staff was so helpful and kind, and the security personnel made us feel very safe. The private pool and rooftop lounge pool were a huge plus. We could not recommend this property more!

Great location, great rooftop deck

El Faro is in the perfect spot in Playa and Reef 403 is a great unit. Well placed, well outfitted, well maintained - and a solid concierge as well. You can't beat the privacy of the rooftop deck and plunge pool, and you also have the amazing El Faro pool and beach. We will be back!

Perfect location

We have stayed at El Faro several times in the past and we continue to come back because of the great location and staff. This was our first time in this particular room and while it met our needs and was clean and tidy, I would comment that the unit could benefit from a deep clean especially of the bathrooms. Other than that the unit was great and met our needs.

Horrible host

I emailed the host & concierge several times for early check in & never heard back. While there asked for beach towels for the 5 guests booked, no reply. Our toilet tank broke in the middle of the night & flooded the lower apt. Never heard from the host to clean up all the water or give us new towels! We only had the master bath to use for 5 people the rest of the time. Zero communication from host!!!!

Karrah, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. - We did confirm that you emailed about the early check-in and were advised that it was best that you contact the guest contact or boots on the ground for a definitive answer. They did not have any missed communications from you about any other issues, we would have addressed them right away if we had. - The plumbing issue was immediately addressed, and we apologized that a new toilet would not be available until the following day (Monday) which also happened to be the day of your scheduled checkout. We also have a 1/2 bath on the private rooftop. Had the water been shut off, that would have helped with the flooding below. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for.

Great time

Really enjoyed our stay. The supply of 5gal' water jugs and dispenser was very helpful. Made a list of needed supplies at check in (coffee, drinks and snacks) and walked to Walmart and took a taxi back. Buy extra small garbage bags to use. The toilet paper can't be flushed ( I feel for them) as could cause the toilets to overflow and they only clean and empty trash "every other" day. Rooftop was nice. Not as big as pictures lead to believe. Good to watch sunrise. Don't leave anything for the next guest as I have at other VRBO's as it will be cleaned out. The previous guests left us some of their leftover bottles alcohol in the fridge. It was gone when we got back from Walmart. Close to 5th Street, beach and has a great pool. Hope to return asap.

Nice Comfortable Place

Check in was easy and the porter showed us to our room with our bags. The condo was just as described with a great view of the pool and ocean. The kitchen was well equipped, plus they had a water cooler with several extra bottles of water which was great! The beds were both pretty comfortable and house cleaning came by every other day. The only issue we had was connecting to the units Wi-Fi, the information provided in our check-in instructions, the information on the plastic card, along with the QR code in the condo were all incorrect. Luckily, I looked at the Wi-Fi modem and found the name of the network and password, so we were able to connect. Not sure what the status was of the property manager, I emailed him before our trip, and the front desk (supposedly) tried to contact him about the Wi-Fi issue, but he never responded. The unit was quiet during the day, except for the night clubs up on 5th or 10th street and from 10-2 every night the music is quite loud. Overall, this condo is in a great location, so many restaurants and shops only a few minutes away, the pool was very well thought out and was a fun place to socialize and relax. Overall, it was a very comfortable place for the four of us, we had a great time, and we would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here 6/16 for 7 days and absolutely enjoyed every single moment of it. The 2 bedroom condo was perfect for us. The bed was really comfy, and the master suite was very spacious and clean. We loved using the walk out balcony and everyday sat out there and enjoyed the views while we had breakfast/lunch or simply enjoyed our drinks. The maid staff that came every other day did an amazing job, and ensured we had new beach towels as well as other towels and wash clothes, they also made sure we had all of the ice trays filled up which was very convenient. The complex itself of El Faro was well maintained and felt very safe. Its location off of 5th ave was prime. You could go left or right on 5th ave and be at a great restaurant or newer shopping mall right away. The pool was great and the beach and ocean were amazing. The beach did get a little busy with locals, but the pool deck is 20 yards from the ocean so we enjoyed that and never really had a desire to lay on the beach. Security was very good about making sure only the residents of El Faro were on the pool deck, and using the beds. We will definitely be returning to Reef 403 in the future and is absolutely perfect for a couple by themselves or two couples on a fun trip!

Comfortable stay but updates needed

Upon arrival a/c was not working. Mssg’d contacts but never heard back from them whatsoever. Front desk helped us get a hold of the repair crew and they were able to fix issue after a few attempts. It was very hot and uncomfortable for a few hours, but glad it was repaired that same day (night by then). During our entire stay, all a/c units stayed the same temp since we weren’t able to change it, and it was freezing…but we rather that than it not working at all. Cleanliness was mid. After each heavy rainfall, we noticed the main room had a leak in the ceiling and the other room a leak from the wall by the restroom. TV in living room does not power on/off with the remote - even with their note that states not to use tv to power it, we had no choice but to do so. The entire room itself could use better cleaning and a few upgrades wouldn’t hurt. Location was very convenient. Staff was good.

The property was phenomenal!

The whole family loved Mike's place! Mike the owner got in touch before, during, and after the trip to make sure everything was good. The location of the condo is amazing! beach front development and in the heart of the downtown area of Playa. Exactly where you want to be. The place was clean and nice and staff came in every other day to clean up and provide clean towels. We will definitely be coming back.

Ok stay, no jacuzzi like stated originally.

The place was clean, property manager very professional. Jacuzzi did not work as originally stated in advertisement. Master bedroom is great, other bedroom has very poor air circulation and was air was damp. Master bed was great and comfortable, other bed was very uncomfortable. Location was great close to everything. Overall 3 stars.

There are no jets or heat and we apologize for any confusion around this. - Both of the bedrooms have identical mattresses and AC units so they should have similar experiences. Good but needs some TLC

Overall, this place gave us a great vacation. It just needs a little TLC. You can't beat the location and the view from the balcony is just phenomenal! The upper patio area though really was a disappointment for us. 2/3 of the lounge chairs were so badly torn you couldn't lay on them to tan, the wifi didn't work upstairs so we couldn't get any of our music playing and the plunge pool....well it was green and horribly dirty. God knows when the last time that was drained or cleaned! We didn't go in it and that's what really had me excited for this place so I was sad about that. The inside is stocked really well. We didn't need to go buy anything except groceries. The master bed was very uncomfortable and we felt like we were sleeping on an air mattress. The sheets could also use some updating. The master bathroom is beautiful but the rain shower is so clogged up with calcium that it sprays water everywhere but your head. Overall, we had a good trip but I would recommend some updating before renting out at this cost again.

Restful Place to Stay

This condo provided our family with a restful vacation. It is located in the middle of Playa del Carmen so you can walk to just about anything that you need. It is conveniently located with many restaurants nearby. We loved swimming in the pool every day - it was very clean and right next to the beach. The condo was comfortable and roomy.

Nice inside Condo - Would not return

The night we got there we were told we could not park there - even paying a fee and there was no parking anywhere else close to the property. There were mult security officers who had no idea what was going on - one even said we could not check in because it was 7 pm and no one was at the desk . I could not call the host because of my cell phone restrictions. Finally I had a security officer call the receptionist ( a nice woman) finally gave me permission to park until they could find resolve. I eventually gave security 100 US dollars for park and told him to keep the change. This is after he came up to my room - had my family get me out of the shower to be badgered re: parking. Then the receptionist showed me a 50 $ bill and said I still owed and that security only gave her 50$. She eventually resolved this I assume -because I was not addressed again. The beach smells terrible - the seaweed is out of control and this condo is one that does not clean the beach area for guests. On a positive note - we were in mexico - The room pool and location to the strip were nice and met our needs well . Xcaret was awesome and so were the cenotes.

The homeowner would like to share the following: - We do let all guests know that garage fees are not included in the rental, but apologize that you were caught off-guard. Parking has to be arranged with the building ahead of time, and we will make this more clear so that future guests do not share your experience. - The seaweed has been more impactful than normal in the past few weeks across the Caribbean. The local government removes the seaweed daily, but it can appear in some areas more than others due to the ever-changing tides. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Absolute Paradise

Our Trip to Playa del Carmen was fabulous from beginning to end. Mike, the owner of the property, reached out to us prior to our stay to make sure we were good to go before our arrival. He was extremely helpful and fast at responding with questions we had about Covid testing and Private shuttles. We used Happy Shuttle Cancun, but there are many others to choose from! Our driver greeted us at the airport and took us directly to Residences El Faro. The entire staff at the complex was extremely friendly and welcoming. They helped us bring our bags up to our rooms and even came to clean/tidy up the condo once during our stay. The condo was the perfect size for 2 couples! There were extra pillows, bedding, and towels provided along with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. It also came with 2 very large water jugs that lasted us our entire stay (5 nights). There was no need to buy any drinking water which was great! When up at the condo, we spent most of our time on the patio and rooftop. Both have stunning views and the plunge pool felt amazing when we wanted to cool off. The rest of out time was spent at the pool and in the ocean. The pictures do not do the pool justice. It is very large, crystal clear, and the perfect temperature. The beach is directly off the pool area and showers are provided so that you can rinse off and jump right in the pool after swimming in the ocean. There are lounge chairs, and large umbrellas are available if you ask one of the staff members. The property is right in the heart of Playa del Carmen and within walking distance of everything. There are security cameras and security guards outside 24/7, which made us feel very safe. The front desk was able to set us up with a driver for the day so that we could visit another beach and Cenote Azul. It was very affordable and would highly recommend it. They gave us 3 options for Covid testing. We opted to have someone come directly to the room to do our test. It was a little pricey, but 100% worth it. I absolutely would recommend this property to anyone looking to come to Playa del Carmen and cannot wait to go back!

A Week in Riviera Maya

The El Faro is an absolutely great condo property and in the perfect location. Close proximity to 5th Ave. with everything it has to offer and right on the beach. The fact this property is so pedestrian-friendly is very appealing for us when traveling to Riviera Maya that it brings us back year after year. We really don't need a car unless we want to take our own excursion and if so it's very easy to rent a car for a day or go with a local excursion provider. You're surrounded with countless restaurants and things to do from the El Faro location it suits us pefectly.
