Excellent venue for quiet stay

This is a large, rambling double-story house, with loads of space, and with great views across the township and of parts of Lake Eildon. Although not by any means a new house, it is comfortable and spacious, and the six of us were all satisfied with the facilities. Owner, Nicole, was helpful in all of the email chats, and the place was just as we had expected after seeing the photos on the website. We were already aware that the nearest large supermarket was in Mansfield, so we bought food for the entire four days of our stay. One unexpected feature was the two refrigerators, which were very handy, given the amount of food that we brought along! The location is calm and peaceful, with very little in the way of noise, but as we were staying at the time of the Gippsland bushfires, some people may have chosen not to visit anywhere in country Victoria where there was the possibility of fires. I was certainly expecting the town to be busier in the first week of January. Although we had limited visibility up until the last morning, the smoke was virtually everywhere in the state over the past few days. None of this put a damper on our enjoyment of the property. We would certainly consider staying here in the future. Thanks Nicole and Steve!

6 day pre-Christmas stay

Clean, comfortable and spacious. Peaceful and serene, we loved the wildlife and easy lake access. Teens loved the back massage machine and pool table.

Best location

This property has better location then what the owner described it and we were really surprised with the views. We had a great stay and everyone enjoyed it. Highly recommend it.

Group stay

The house is so spacious and comfortable yet cosy. I went with a group of friends for a weekend and to Mount Buller and everyone enjoyed it. The only problem was that one of the nights we wanted to use the bbq and it wasn't working. There was no gas either so that was a bit disappointing. Overall we all really enjoyed our stay.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately the gas bottle became empty for your stay, it has now been refilled and the bbq works fine, just gas ran out. Had the local store been open at the time we could have arranged a replacement. We now have two full bottles on site or happy to refund refilling during a stay.

Loved our stay

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Fire place and views were the highlight. Close to mt Buller for a day out enjoying the snow. We will love to stay again :)

Great property in a perfect position

My wife, newborn and I had a wonderful first weekend away at the perfectly position house in Goughs Bay. Looking forward to coming back with the boat!

Great view, good condition, spacious rooms, in competitive price, will definitely recommend.

This 2-storey house can look over the beautiful lake with great view, located at high ground. It is a bit old however kept at very good condition. There are three cold/ heating Air-Con and quite comfortable at winter time. Nicole was very friendly and thoughtful and I was impressed with her timely communication. The cell phone signals are poor at the whole area so please be aware. I was advised that no Wifi is at the house and our family was actually quite enjoying the board game provided by the house. We received the deposit refund after a week without any issue. It is not far away from Mansfield and it is a good gateway for Mt Buller. We really enjoy this house and would like to return for future holiday.

Excellent holiday house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Goughs bay at the Anchorage Lodge It is a lovely property in a great location. The views were amazing from the balconies. Very peaceful and lots of wild life to see. Easy access to the property and loads of parking space. Would highly recommend great family holiday home.
