We bought Turley Farm twelve years ago. It was a wreck, in much need of alot of TLC, with the potential to turn it into somewhere truly special. Ben is a builder and artist; he recognised what Turley Farm could become and set to work, knocking down quite a bit of it, restoring the barns with traditional lime plaster and bringing the place back to life, giving it charm and elegance which it so richly deserved.
Our three children have grown up here and are an integral part of farm life; they have been instrumental to the gardening, building construction, natural pool creation, as well as looking after the animals. Peggy - our breeding sow - was an important part of their upbringing, as were all her Tamworth babies.
Ben continues to build and create; garden and farm. Kate works in the African Development sector and is training to become a psychotherapist. Part of her vision for Turley Farm is to develop it as a wellbeing retreat venue.
We love having people to stay. Our Small Barn holiday let has been a great success and much enjoyed by our many guests who have stayed with us. A highlight has been the natural swimming pond which Ben built two years ago. A smash hit for all ages.
