Hi Katie, I'm glad you enjoyed our setting but sorry you were disappointed by some aspects of our accommodations and price. I would like to address a few of your comments. A TV is available but upon request. It is included in our listing's description of accommodations and clearly stated in my welcome letter which you received upon booking. "Please let me know in advance if you'd like a TV placed in the room." It is our expierience that most of our guests choose not to have a TV so we don't leave one in the room, but as I said, it's always an option. Also, in an effort to be completely transparent about our accommodations we list what we offer in the amenities section of of our VRBO listing and in my welcome letter. "Your stay comes with a tea table w/electric tea kettle and tea selection, fresh fruit, homemade banana bread and snacks". However, what can be confusing (I think) is that the amenities section only lists what is available. So, if you don't see fridge/micro/ etc listed, it is not there. Regarding our outlets, we have electric outlets on either side of the bed, next to the desk and chair, in the bathroom and on the wall near the heater. We have 5 outlets in a single room with bath. Additionally we have an extra extension cord in the desk drawer should one be needed and one located on the side table outlet. Finally, regarding our price. We feel that our price reflects the unusual setting we provide in both natural beauty, location, parking and safety. I have price checked local hotels and although their rates tend to fluctuate according to season and local events, we are most often well below the cost of a standard room in a hotel without a kitchen located on the freeway. Mill Valley is a lovely mountain town. It has all the pleasures of an urban area along with the beauty of natural open space. The cost of living is high here. We do our best to offer a really local expierience for our guests and I offer my expertise as a mountain guide as a little something extra, which is not something you'll find at any hotel or inn. Hi Jonathan, It was a pleasure having both you as guests. Thanks for leaving the room in perfect shape and for being so thoughtful and friendly. I wish I'd known you needed more plugs, I would have directed you to the power strip located in the bottom right hand drawer of the room's desk! Drat! Missed opportunity!

Dear Colleen, So sorry to hear you felt unwelcome during your stay and that you felt constrained by a couple of our house rules. Our no smoking/ no perfume policy is posted on our listing, clear for all perspective guests to see PRIOR to sending a request to stay. In fact, guests must agreed to house rules in order to make payment. So I'm surprised that this was unexpected. Most listings do have house rules. We do try and provide a natural environment as many of our guests are nature lovers and prefer a scent free zone. We happily provide natural soaps, shampoo and conditioner which most of our guests really appreciate! Fresh French Press Coffee is not something that comes with the room rental but we are very happy to serve it at no extra cost provided our guests enjoy it outside, since we have had problems with spills in the past. And yes we do have a very expensive 100% wool /non-toxic carpet in the room (a rarity in a chemical rich world). We ask guests to avoid red wine as well. (White wine is fine). Having said this the room comes with a tea table with electric kettle and a variety of teas, banana bread, fruit and treats, so we expect our guests to enjoy these things in the privacy of their room and even provide a ice chest should you care to keep juices and other things cool. Additionally the room comes with dishes and other accouterments. In response to your comment about our unwelcoming vibe, upon your arrival you asked about local hikes for you and your daughter. I made several suggestions, offering maps and directions to help you get around, something not all hosts would do. When you mentioned your food delivery was going to take 90 min, I offered to go pick it up for you. We make a point to be as available as we can to all our of guests without hovering. In the many favorable reviews we've had over the past 2 years you are the only one to find fault in our efforts. For that I am very sorry.
