There are a huge number of pluses about this property. It’s well decorated, ( the kitchen is especially well equipped) and the shower works well. The beds and linen were of a good standard too. The location is ideal and views are spectacular. But there is a meanness of spirit here. My partner missed the fact that there are NO towels ( we had to go off and buy some) and I have never stayed anywhere before with so few nice touches. There wasn’t any milk, tea, coffee (they ask you to take coffee pods), no games or guide books or even so much as a pencil. The living room felt cold and uninviting - the floor is tiled and would benefit from a warm rug at the very least. Dogs are £50/ week but there’s no dog bowl or dog treats of any kind. What a difference it would have made to have a pint of milk, small loaf and butter or just a few biscuits. Oh yes, there’s no shampoo or soap apart from hand wash. I know much of this is actually in the small print but we were astonished by the lack of nice touches. It felt impersonal and I felt we’d paid a reasonable sum for it. But it is nice in so many ways- such a pity to spoil the ship for a ha’poth of tar.
