Großes Waterview Haus in der Tür-Grafschaft. Fabelhaftes Haus für 15 Personen !!

Anna, thank you so very much for choosing my home for your vacation. The mention of popcorn threw me for a second and then I realized you were talking about the candy store, which is just a block away. I hope you were also able to take advantage of the marina, the Pioneer Store 🍒 (our wonderful little grocery store) and the parks and the beach which are also within walking distance. Ellison Bay has always been on the quiet side of things, but each year more and more people are discovering what a very special place it is. Getting away from the traffic jams and crush of tourists can be just what the doctor ordered.

Peggy, I am so happy that you chose my home for your stay. And that it was a good fit for you and your family. Thank you so much for leaving my home in wonderful shape. Lyn

Thank you so much for choosing my home for your vacation this year. Your family was an absolute joy and went above and beyond to leave the home in terrific shape. I hope to see you back again in the years to come. Lyn

Dear Janet, it was a joy for me to host your family and I was so happy that you were staying for two weeks. What a small world it turned out to be. I hope to see you again next year, Lyn

Kimberly, I could not have asked for a lovelier group to stay at my home this fall. Communication with you was so prompt and easy and you left the home in absolutely immaculate condition. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of that. I sincerely hope that I will see you again in the years to come. You are always welcome.

It was such a pleasure to have you stay at my home. I am so glad that it fit your needs and that you were comfortable and happy there. I hope this is the beginning of a long family tradition. Thank you for taking such great care of everything. Fondly, Lyn

Kim and her family were an absolute joy and I hope they will come back again and again. I could not have asked for nicer people.

Nathan, Thank you again for choosing my home for your vacation. And thank you also for taking the time to leave a review. Moving from a four bedroom, 2 1/2 bath to a three bedroom, one and a half bath (after 18 years on VRBO) was a big decision and not something I took lightly. Creative showering schedules is sometimes necessary and I am actually meeting with my builder tomorrow to speak to him about creating an outdoor shower. That kind of thing is commonplace in Florida, but not so much up here in the Northwoods. In the meantime, thank you for your flexibility and for appreciating the great things about the house. For me, it is all about the location. When I’m on vacation I hate having to get into the car every time I want to go to the grocery store or a coffee shop or the marina. Ellison Bay is a wonderful spot as a home-base for your exploring Door County. You’re away from the hustle and bustle and the crush of thousands of tourists and you’re able to just relax and unwind. It is “old Door County“ at its best. Hopefully, if you return next year, you will be able to shower outdoors the way we used to when I was a kid.

It was a real joy to have you and your beautiful family stay in my home. In all the years I have been doing this I don’t think that my house has ever been left in such a spotless condition. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will become a yearly tradition for you and that I you will choose my home for another stay.

Your family was an absolute joy to have in my home. And thank you very much for all the goodies you left in the refrigerator. It was like Christmas morning!

I feel so lucky that you and your family chose my home for your vacation. I hope to see you again in the future. Thank you for leaving the house in such great shape.

This wonderful family was my last rental of the season this year and I have to say that I could not have asked for a better end to the season. They left the home in such wonderful shape with almost every single sheet and towel washed and folded. . I was just astonished. Everything was shiny and clean and I cannot thank them enough for leaving the house in such great shape. It really ended the rental year on a high note for me and I appreciate it very much.

It was a real pleasure to have you and your family at my home. Everything was left in wonderful condition and you can’t imagine how much I appreciate all the care that you took with my home. It’s not easy with a couple of two-year-olds. Thank you again so very much for choosing my home for your vacation.

Dear Randy and family, Thank you so much for the very lovely review. I have to say you were among the best guests I have hosted. Your understanding and kindness regarding the grill was so amazing. I was more than happy to replace it immediately and particularly because it was Father's Day weekend and I knew you guys were enthusiastic grillers. You left at my home in wonderful condition and took great care of it while you were here. Thank you so very much for that and for choosing my home for your family vacation. I hope I will see you again in the future.

I would rate this family stay as a 10 out of 10. They were very easy to communicate with, and the house was immaculate when they left. Keep in mind that this was a family of five with three young children. I hope that they will return for many years to come.

Dear Abby, Thank you so much for choosing my home for your stay and for the very beautiful review. You and your friends were charming and you left my home in such good shape. The welcome mat will always be out for you. I hope to see you again in the near future. I will do what I can to get better weather for you.

This was a very nice 3 generation family who stayed in my home for a week. They were out and about and visiting the peninsula and when our paths would cross, I was told that they were having a great stay. So I was a little surprised to see a couple of the comments here. My ad does not list a washer and dryer so that should not have come as a surprise and It is a short walk to the marina, probably around three minutes to get there. I’m not sure what people expect in a bunk room designed for kids, but I will agree that the mattresses and are not as luxurious us as ones in the queen bedrooms. But I do supply two twin 3 inch memory foam toppers which people can choose to use or not use as they see fit. Nevertheless, you as perspective renters will have to weigh 17 years of nothing but 5 star reports against what you have read here. I do appreciate the constructive criticism regarding the pillows in the bunk room and I will take a closer look at them and see if they need to be replaced.

Very very difficult to know where to start here. I was probably more upset than the family was when I learned that VRBO considered a loft with a sleep sofa in it as a bedroom. It is not a bedroom. It is an open loft that happens to have a sleep sofa in it. This was CAREFULLY explained in my description of the home, but because of the Vrbo algorithm, it pops up as a 4 bedroom during the initial search. (this was explained to me by the VRBO's Help Desk as well as how to solve that issue. Which I did the next day) I immediately, sent a copy of VRBO’s response to Lissa. In addition to the written description of the home, there are abundant photographs, which also describe each room in detail. Had the guests taken the time to read it they would have understood that one of the "sleeping spaces" was an open loft. I was probably at the house five minutes after I received their phone call. My cleaning staff does not check a sleep sofa unless it had been used. This particular one had not been used this year and I was just as surprised as my guest, to find out that one of the bars had been bent by the previous tenant and kept the bed from opening. I called my handyman and 10 minutes later, the problem was solved. So I estimate that these guests were without a functioning sleep sofa for about 30 to 40 minutes. The niece, a 15 year old girl, was still not happy because she did not have a private room to call her own. (I get that, I was 15 once). But she DID have a bed, albeit a sofa bed. The weather was going to be beautiful and I suggested that she might enjoy sleeping on the futon on the large screened in porch. She jumped at the opportunity and never complained about it. So when Lissa wanted a monetary reduction in the cost of their stay, I felt it would be fair to credit the $150 cleaning fee. I wish I had given her a check right then and there as this was the busiest time of our season up here, and I simply forgot. Considering it has been five months since their stay, I think the timely, smart, as well as kind thing to do would have been to simply send me a text as a reminder… but I imagine she was looking forward to some type of retribution by writing this review instead. it’s very sad, but I believe she was under a lot of pressure from her family and wanted to find someone to blame and I was an easy though illogical target. I hope this $$ brings some happiness and joy to this family and I wish them all the very best in the new year.
