Let me start with, this was our only bad review of a completely booked summer and she also complained there were too many Palmetto bugs OUTSIDE!! We stayed at the house last week and didn't notice a musty smell or any bad smell anywhere! The maids were reprimanded for not changing the shower curtain liner that week. I also requested they vacuum the vents because there was some dust collection. They are not corroded. The leak from the shower only happened with these renters because they left the shower curtain outside of the shower!!!! We leave new mattress pads in every closet so renters can change them and wash them if they get them dirty. We don’t live in town so we can’t check them every Saturday. There are no torn mattresses. Checked every one myself. There was a spill on the carpet in the upstairs hall, but we had planned to replace carpet the first of September since the spring. There was also a spill on one foot stool and one couch that I had cleaned while we were there. Some good advice for renters is, if you walk in and are disappointed with how the house was cleaned, contact the homes management company!! Most home owners don’t live close by. Ours will send a cleaning crew over to clean again and you can point out any issues you have so they can be fixed! We love our house so much and we work hard to take care of it and enjoy sharing it will people who love the beach like we do. We wont be renting to her again anyway.

We are so sorry you didn’t enjoy our house. We realize the reason for your harsh review may be because we denied your request to bring your 12 year old dog to the beach house after you already new our no pet policy and had accepted our rental contract. Your specific complaints are the very reason we don’t allow renters to bring dogs or pets of any age. It has been very hard on homeowners, during this pandemic, to find cleaning services that really clean homes. At some point during the summer rentals this season, a renter broke into our owners closet and used our personal sheets. They then shoved them into drawers and closets before they left. There is no way for us to know what happens at the house unless we hear from the cleaning service. We don’t live close by. This is a cherished family home and we work so hard to keep it nice so we can share it with other families. I replaced the upstairs bathroom rug which was by the two rooms most children enjoy staying in. It’s likely a small child had an accident on it. I could not detect a urine smell but replaced it anyway. We just left the house last week and it’s been cleaned top to bottom and the cleaning service informed of your complaint.There were a few spots on the den cushions from renters not eating at our table that seats 16! I was able to work on those with a spot bot myself and refreshed all the rest of the cushions as well. There was absolutely no urine smell at all. As for your comment on our home not being maintained, that’s absolutely untrue. We just fully renovated our kitchen 4 years ago and it’s beautiful. We also fully renovated 2 bathrooms and got all new bedding 2 years ago. Last year we had a brand new porch put on the front and side and bought brand new rocking chairs for the front porch. We have also replaced our dishwasher and oven/stove in the past year. Our yard guy retired in the middle of the summer and it took us two weeks to find a new service. One of those weeks was the week y’all were there. I am sorry about that, but again, it has been difficult for homeowners to find services during this pandemic. The lawn is currently perfectly manicured by our new lawn care company.
