This was a great rental to stay in. My family and extended family needed a large place to stay with a lot of bedrooms, and this location fit the bill. It had everything we needed, and checked all the boxes. The hosts are lovely people and easy to work with. The rental agency was prompt and responsive. I appreciated all the items left by other guests, which kept us from wasting money on things we didn't need. There was ample parking space as well. The area is nice, quiet, and not real busy, which we appreciated. We really enjoyed the point up to the north of the island. You can walk out on sand bars and see lots of shells, wildlife, etc. I actually almost stepped on a sting ray. We saw crabs, fish, dolphins, hermit crabs, conches, shark, etc. Several areas that could be improved would be to replace a twin bed in the upstairs bedrooms with a full bed. My wife and I tried cramming into a twin, with a nursing baby, and it was awful. So there's a lot of breeding, but not a lot for couples. Since the units use to be split, it's kind of a weird set up with them joined, in that there are 2 separate kitchens and living/ dining rooms. That can be a very good thing, but it also limits sleeping/ bedroom space. Overall we were very pleased and appreciated the opportunity.

Great vacation in Holden Beach

We had a great vacation! This is a great property with plenty of space for our group! Having two kitchens and living areas made it very convenient. The proximity to the beach is great and all the beach chairs and extras were very helpful. Highly recommended!!

Large Family Space

Wonderful house!

The bedrooms are all very nice in size, plenty of room all around the home. I have been traveling to NC for over 10 years annually and our family finally found a home that we all love! Very close to the beach. Very quiet neighborhood, and lots of room to spread out at the beach! Driveway very spacious as well. Beautiful home, can't wait to rent here again.

Excellent Property

This home was absolutely perfect for our group of young families. The home was clean and welcoming. Having two kitchens was great for our group. We also loved having a bathroom connected to each room. The walk to the beach was short and the beach toys provided with the house were perfect for our kids. We will definitely book again!

Nice house and large!

The house is a pleasant stroll to the beach which was never crowded. Two kitchens and two living rooms since it’s a duplex with a connecting hall. Modest bedrooms with comfortable beds. Everything we needed for 8 couples and a few kids was provided.

Outstanding Holden Beach home

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this home worked for us. We had my parents my sisters family and my family all spread throughout the house. The eight bedroom were just outstanding, my boys loved the airplane room and my daughter really enjoyed sleeping "next door" at the other house away from mom and dad. The ability to be together yet separate was one of the best features. We could let the kids play at night on one side while the adults could hang out on the other. It was quiet enough to enjoy ourselves yet we were still able to hear when the kids started to get "too" loud and break up their fun. I thought my kids would just start to shrivel up permanently they spent so much time in the ocean. If we were not at the beach, the large under the house space gave them ample room to play soccer and ride skateboards. The quiet West End allowed us to feel confidence allowing them to ride their bikes along the road to the end of the island and back. Anything to tire them out!! Now, the fellow just loved golf at Lockwood Folly. We played everyother day in the afternoon and many days we had the course to ourselves. The course was beautiful and for what we got, the price was amazing. We of course will be back and we can't wait for 2015.

Ready for family vacation

We loved vacationing at M&M/Joy of flying. The house is perfect for our family. The kids just love the fast access to the beach and playing under the house. The ability to split up and let the kids watch what they want on one side while the adults have the other living space to ourselves is one of the best touches about this home. The beach was beautiful as always. We love coming to Holden Beach during the "off-season" as it is quiet and at times the beach can be all your own. Walking the beach from Joy of Flying to the West End and back is a great way to spend time with friends and relatives. We get more talking and reminiscing done during our long walks than we ever would get on a social media platform. We've stayed here for a number of years and we love Holden Beach more everytime we visit. I especially appreciate the effort that goes into the property every year keeping it updated. Some years it's new carpet, some years it's new ceramic tile, but always something has been improved or updated. This year all the porch furniture had a fresh coat of paint and looked awesome. There were new windows on the front of M&M that were smooth and easy to operate and added to the updated feel along with the new wooden slat blinds in both living rooms. While we were there the electrician stopped by to pick up a forgotten tool bag, and he told us there were new electrical panels installed over the winter on both sides. Most people would not care, but as a homeowner, I respect taking the time to keep all the behind the scenes parts of the home up to current code. It shows pride in ownership and this house continues to reflect that. We'll be back again soon. Lee

Rented both east and west side

Great home that met all our needs. The maintenance team and owners were responsive to our concerns and requests. We loved the location. A nice walk to the beach from a gated community produced a relaxing week for the whole family.

What a blessing!

We had a wonderful time at Holden Beach. It was truly a family oriented place. The house was spacious, super clean, and well organized. The beach access was very convenient and there were supplies in the storage room for the children to use. It was great to have two kitchens , especially for breakfast, because we could feed the children on one side while people slept in on the other side. The kitchens had everything we needed. We would definitely love to come again to Joy of Flying and M & M. I

Great value for a family

We've returned to this property many times. Suits our needs perfectly. Normally, I'm not a big fan of gated communities, but in this case, it really makes the beaches feel uncrowded, even on Memorial Day weekend.

Lovely place with lots of space for large family gathering!

We enjoyed our stay in this home @ Holden Beach! Plenty of room. TWO kitchens (which is fabulous when you have 15 people to feed and clean up after!) It was a short walk to the beach. My 4 grandbabies loved going! Plenty of beds and bedrooms! Clean and comfortable. It was a wonderful week!
