Beautiful grounds and pool, friendly gardener, shame about the service from Carrington!
We stayed at this property - a family of four - for 2 weeks from 25/7 - 8/8 2018. Our overall impression of the inside of the villa is that it is not magnificent luxury (it may have been) but it is now quite dated inside and is need of maintenance to the sanitary applicances, air conditioning and some of the fixtures and fittings. If the amount of time and effort devoted to the garden and pool was afforded to the villa then it would be as Carrington describe it.
Unfortunately whilst we were there we mentioned that the air conditioning was not working efficiently, door handles were falling off (one of which did and we had to repair it ourselves) light fitting in one of the en-suites was not working and was therefore pitch black in the middle of the night. All of these concerns were mentioned to the Carrington representative on day 1 of our stay but then during the rest of our stay, not only was nothing done about the items we mentioned but we did not have any more contact with Carrington until our taxi arrived. The taxi driver was probably the rudest man we have ever encountered in our 5 visits to Northern Cyprus. He stood and watched my husband struggle up a flight of stairs with four suitcases without so much as an offer to help, on the return journey it was the gardener who carried each of our suitcases across the garden to the waiting taxi driver. It was only when he wanted paying at Larnaca airport that he actually spoke to us!!
According to the villa description "The villa is cleaned before your stay. (a mid-stay change of bedlinen is provided for bookings of 2 weeks or more, otherwise there will be an additional cost.)" We did not receive any new bed linen or towels - we washed these ourselves. We used the downstairs bedrooms, the double bed was really poor, it was very uncomfortable, the mattress has collapsed on one side and the bed frame squeaked and creaked at the merest of movement causing you to wake up throughout the night. Our daughters had a similar experience with both the single beds in the twin room next door. Both of them also returned with suspicious rashes down their torso and legs which would suggest both mattresses need replacing!
Despite the aforementioned service and disappointment with parts of the villa. We did enjoy our stay, mainly due to the fact that we spent most of our time enjoying the grounds and swimming pool and our visits from the friendly, hard working gardener!
