Great multi-gen family home

Our family of 17 of us (teens, young adults) celebrating the 80th birthday of my mom. The home was perfect for us to be together. It never felt too big or small. The house was well appointed, as showed on the site. Being so close to the beach was wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

Bring your cleaning supplies

Great location, but bring your cleaning supplies for check in. We checked in on a Friday afternoon to a house that wasn’t cleaned from the previous visit. We called but the office was closed since you can’t check in until Friday afternoon. I have a ton of pictures (not sure that I can post here) on just how dirty it was, it was crazy. We clean ourselves and tried to get credit for the cleaning fee but was only offered an early check in the next time we stay at one of there properties. Totally laughable when I provided them with proof of how dirty the place was. Plenty of cleaner houses, stay at another one and save yourself the trouble.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is great location and has lots of space for everyone. Our kids loved the bunk bed room, pool, and game room. One issue we had though was the downstairs refrigerator wasn’t working part of the trip which was an inconvenience with a larger group but management did come fix it. Also few little things would help like a broom, scissors and wine opener.

Very Disappointed is an Understatement

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were told the night before our arrival the elevator would not be working--too late to find someplace else and to late to cancel the reservation. Our party of 19 included two 76 year old seniors and a new hip replacement. No monetary compensation was offered from either the owner or the realtor for a 3 floor home that was NOT AS ADVERTISED. The elevator, in our case, was not a frivolity; but a necessity. Financial consideration should have been given (no matter how minimal) as we had rented there 3 years in a row. No small chunk of change on our part. All that was offered was "help carrying luggage in". What about navigating the remainder of the week? The proof of how well an organization performs is how well major issues--not minor ones--are handled. Both the realtor and the owner failed on this one. The realtor was notified several times through either emails or text messages as to our displeasure. There was absolutely no follow-up or follow through. Would you want your grandparents treated in this manner on a property that cost $22,000+ ?

Perfect Family Vacation

The house had everything we needed and was in beautiful condition. It was very clean and well taken care of. The pool and hot tub were perfect as well. Our grandkids enjoyed the small wading area in the pool. We utilized all of the 8 bedrooms and there isn't a bad or less desirable room in the house. The location was perfect with two grocery stores less than a mile and 1/2 away, golf was a mile away as well. The beach access is only one house over and easy to get to. We also appreciated the library full of books to enjoy while we were there. The kitchen was well equipped but could use another cutting board or two. Two dishwashers came in handy for such a large group. And the refrigerator on the lower level near the pool was very handy. We hope to return to After Math next summer with our big family. Everyone had a great time.

Excellent Vacation Home

Located within a mile of grocery stores and loaded with amenities that kept everyone occupied. The size and layout of the house provided ample room for my entire family and no over crowding. Heated pool was well worst the cost. Rental management team were excellent for minor issues. House smelled of bleach upon arrival, however floors very Sandy and bathroom left with hair and dirty floor. House needs a deep cleaning, floors were dirty, vents fuzzy, and baseboard very dirty.

Reviewer Comments: We loved everything about our place except it was filthy dirty.Food splattered on walls, kitchen cupboards dirty with food, fingerprints and dust.Sinks had mold around the tops of them and drained poorly.Refrigerator was dirty and needed cleaning.Shower floor in bedroom on main level had disgusting mold all over.Bedspread on main level bedroom had visible stains.Lots of little repairs needed fixing, towel bars loose or hanging, blind handles missing, screen doors hard to open and close.Windows inside and out were dirty.All surrounding cement needed sweeping or blown off.Alot of Weeds in landscaping.Beautiful home, great location - would not rent this home again if it doesn’t get a deep clean.

Family Vacation Getaway in OBX

It had plenty of space in the common areas and bedrooms. It was very nicely decorated. The pool and hot tub were great. The beach was a very short walk from the house. The ocean view was amazing and sun rises were beautiful. Areas that need improvement: The Beach Realty property next door (603 Tide Arch) did not know where to place garbage cans for pickup. As a result, we had to look at trash overflowing the cans all week. After contacting Beach Realty, they had someone come out and clean up the mess.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was beautiful - the finishes, furniture, layout, decor and amenities were all so nice. The ocean view was amazing. The beach access was just one house over and the neighborhood was very close to the grocery store and a shopping center. The overall neighborhood looked very nice and new, but the homes were close and the beach was more crowded than we thought it would be. The house itself gets a 5 star rating.The other things like the maintenance follow-up, crowded beach, active construction 2 doors down and traffic in Duck lowered our ratings.We were asked by the realty company to report any maintenance issues we had when we first arrived, so we did. Most of the items weren't critical, but the maintenance/service office didn't follow-up with a status as they said they would.

We didn’t get to use the pool, yard, and decks which was disappointing because of the storm
.The only fault I could say is that there is only one towel per person, you would have to pay $7.00 for every extra set needed
..And it’s the first house I have ever rented that had not even one dish towel
.So just be prepared for that
..Other than that the house is awesome!

Beautiful house but some disappointments

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: LOVED the home! Wasn't cleaned when we arrived/sheets/linens missing. Grill very dirty. They quickly resolved the above. Elevator very sensitive. Had to call service twice as it quit working. If in a wheelchair - not accessible enough. Shower is large, but door not wide enough. Only bed low enough would be bunk room but bathroom there not handicap friendly.

A few things could use a little maintenance but nothing that was a big deal. We will definitely stay here again. We had four families with us and had plenty of space.

We loved having the shallow area connected to the pool for the little ones & were very impressed with the amount of pool floats provided. Cornhole boards were great as well. Kitchen was extremely well stocked - minus a cheese grater. All around great house and would definitely come back!

Good Overall Beach House & Location, but be aware...

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After Math is a great house in a great location. Every bedroom has a full bathroom and the house has a great layout and is well stocked. Unfortunately, for a newer home, the maintenance is not being kept up. The rental management company is not responsive. They did send out a maintenance guy unscheduled who arrived at the house with no knowledge of what was wrong, despite my providing a detailed list. We were at the beach, so he left and didn’t fix a thing. Biggest concerns were that it is NOT being kept clean and the elevator is useless. In fact, a member of our group got stuck on it and had to climb out between floors! The emergency maintenance guy said to call 911 as they can’t help - then what can they help with?? Bring your own linens & blankets as many are severely stained with ??? To the owner: IF the house was deep cleaned and stained linens replaced (especially during this pandemic), we would have considered returning next year. You need to hire a new management company because the elevator was needed by some members of our group, but became a hazard that the management company could not figure out. There were a number of other problems (door knobs falling apart, shutters missing bars to open/close, NO broom provided to sweep up sand... I could go on and on) Again, overall it is a great house, just needs to be cleaned, maintained and managed better.

A little disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place for a year old was very dirty. Looks like air filters where never replaced, very dusty. Most everywhere had a coat of dusting on it. Dead flys on window seals. Cobwebs everywhere in the house, kitchen lights where disgusting. Overall cleanliness very poor. Internet had to be reset at least twice a day, very slow and won’t load half the time. If your going to offer make sure it works. Elevator had to be repaired twice, repair guy made it seem like it was our fought. After hour repair wouldn’t come out so buzzer on elevator went off all night. Keeping house up all night. We enjoyed our stay very much, but house was a big disappointment this time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Aftermath was a beautiful home that accommodated our party of 19 perfectly!! The pool floats and sand toys were stocked which was very nice!! The grassy area and corn hole was great for the kiddos! The only downside for us was we are used to having private access to the beach which this house does not have. The public access is just one house down though. We had an amazing time at Aftermath!!
