This was our first VRBO rental, and we were not disappointed. Hosts Pat and Laura Wilson started our visit off with a bottle of champagne and homemade chocolate cookies, and it just kept getting better . . .
The one feature that attracted both of us to the cabin was the series of pictures (they were all very accurate) and especially the ones that showed the glassed-in sun porch. My wife and I couldn't wait to use it. "She" used it for part of virtually every day, just relaxing and reading, while I was fly fishing nearby on the nearby West Branch of the Delaware River and the Beaverkill. I finally got "my turn" on the next-to-last day of our stay, and it was worth the wait. The room is exhilarating and relaxing. The house was immaculate, and everything was in perfect operating order. The furnishings were first-rate (we especially LOVED the art work throughout the house) and our hosts were very accommodating, even to the point of meeting us at a hastily-arranged spot, off site, when our GPS failed to locate their property properly (there's a tongue twister!). The Wi-Fi was solid, and the kitchen (where I spent a good deal of my time preparing food for my special diet) was fully equipped and then some. I had no problem finding everything and anything I needed to prepare my meals. We didn't have to buy a thing; everything (right down to paper towels, napkins, and garbage bags) was all there. We saw loads of deer and other wildlife, and even sighted an American Bald Eagle on the last day of our stay. As we watched it soar over the river it seemed to say "Come back soon," and God willing, we certainly will!
Becky and I rated our vacation rental at the Wilson cabin a five-star experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay at a "home away from home," which is exactly what the Wilsons' wonderful cabin turned out to be. Thank you, Pat and Laura, for allowing us the privilege of spending a week in your beautiful log home. We will never forget it.
Note: Two small "glitchy" things: First, although the flat screen TV was as large (or larger than) advertised, it was housed in a furniture unit that hid about 6" of the picture on either side; Second, we could have used a pair of night tables with lamps in our downstairs bedroom. However, if that's the worst thing you can say about a vacation rental . . . well . . . you get the picture.
Our advice: Make "your" reservation now! You will love the Wilson house!
