Hi Lisa, we’re sorry to hear that your holiday stay was impacted by a water outage. After following up with the homeowner, they’d like to share some context about the situation: – The water issue was caused by a power outage due to heavy snow in the area. Since the home relies on an electric pump for well water, the loss of power temporarily affected the water supply. We proactively notified the power company, who responded quickly and restored power overnight, within 12 hours. Throughout the outage, we provided you with frequent status updates. – We quickly addressed the issue during your visit, but you chose to leave early, and we respected that. As a gesture of goodwill, we provided the refund you requested. While this situation was beyond our control, we’re confident the property will continue to provide excellent stays for future guests.

Not as expected

The home is cozy but definitely needs updating. I was dissappointed with the condition of the Parsonfield house, especially since it is inaccurately described as “3 levels of luxury living space”. The 3rd bathroom and livingroom are located in the basement and not comfortable to use because of mildew/musty smell. The property had minor maintenance issues that were a nuisance, and added up to an unwelcoming feeling.

So many problems with so much potential

An incredible location and a wonderful property, this place has so much potential; however, the owner and his property management company do not perform routine maintenance, nor was the property properly cleaned before our stay. We raised our concerns with the owner and his property management company. In one instance, the owner found a work-around, which let us watch television despite a broken satellite feed. As for our issues with cleanliness and mold in the basement, we cleaned the place to our own satisfaction and did not use the basement except to empty the dehumidifier four times during a ten day period. As another reviewer remarked, the property may need updating depending on your taste. We just wish the owner would take more routine care of a place with so much potential regardless of its age. We do not recommend renting this place until the problem with mold in the basement has been resolved and the cleaning company properly does its job including replacing towels that have makeup stains, cleaning the oven, and, unfortunately, migrating the lovely colony of ladybugs elsewhere.

Jeff, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We appreciate that you positively mention the location and property. We are disappointed that you gave us a poor review as we tried our best to accommodate all your needs during your stay. - When you arrived the home was clean and ready for you except for the oven, we offered to have our cleaners out to clean but you opted to turn on the "self-cleaning" feature and it did an adequate job, you also mentioned that the rest of the house was in acceptable condition so we did not send out team out. We did give you a discount on the cleaning fee for the inconvenience - We discussed the dehumidifier and I explained why it wasn't running, we understand that you chose to keep an eye on it and emptied the bucket when it had water thank you for that. However, the basement does not have mold and it is clean - We did not provide a workaround for the TV, we purchased a package for you to ensure you could watch the games in the basement, or on any of the units we have in the home, you also said you were very satisfied with our pricey solution - As far as the ladybugs, I'll see what Mother Nature can do to help since I'm sure I won't be able to relocate them. We are in rural Maine surrounded by 8000 acres of conservation land and if you had let us know they were an issue we would have sent over our pest control company but you never told us about this - We gave you access to the maids closet for extra towels and linens due to your extended stay and the cleaners came back out 6 times to do additional laundry and clean up - I'm not sure what updating you think is needed but the home is represented accurately in the photos in the listing, it's a really nice house with decor that we think meets the needs of our guests - If the house was not what you were looking for or wanted, we offered a full refund so that you could find a place that met your needs and wants and you did decline **For all potential guests this house is in excellent condition and represents a really good value for anyone looking to rent a whole house. We have a lot of guests who have been happy and have given us 5-star reviews on this property, please do not let this review dissuade you from renting with us. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star reviews we are known for.

There was so much mold in the master bath it took me 2.5 hours to clean the bathrooms and frig. No place to relax TV was down stairs and you couldn't use because of the musty smell that took your breath away after 2mins of being in that area .Defiantly feel that is a health hazed. you should be looking into these places especial after looking at a review from about 1.5 years ago. You can see on the cameras we didn't spend much time in the house. Had to go to my sister's place to watch tv and relax. For the sake of other customers, you need to investigate this place. Your guest can get seriously ill in this place especially in the basement. mold has to be spreading through this house. I cleaned for 2.5hrs just to be able to stay in this filth. I was not happy nor were others that were staying there. I have photos please tell me how to send them. I totaly except to be compensated for this nightmare of a trip a full refund is more like it. My concern is also for others who will get tricked into renting this place . Again i have photos so i have proof of the filth

We genuinely strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests.- Before your stay, we addressed your concerns about mold, confirming there was no mold in the house and taking measures to maintain a comfortable environment, including the installation of a whole-house dehumidifier. It's important to clarify that your concerns, including references to older reviews and bringing Lysol with you, have already been remedied. These issues do not represent the current state of our property.- Additionally, we acknowledge that there was an issue with one of the bathrooms, which was addressed promptly by our cleaning team, and we refunded the cleaning fee for that bathroom.- As for the amenities, we have multiple spaces in the house for relaxation, including living rooms, a sunroom, and a deck with comfortable seating. Additionally, there are four televisions with Roku streaming service for your entertainment.Our property aligns with the listing photos and has received positive four- and five-star reviews from most past guests. Nice little house with good room for the family.

Really should be smoke detectors. I didn't sleep well knowing there wasn't one smoke detector in the entire home with my kids staying here. Took a bit to figure out the nest thermostat, directions would of made it easier. Only other thing, having salt or sand for the steps to the entrance. My 75 year old mother stayed with us and the stairs and deck were very slippery. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Labor Day Family Getaway 2022

Location was perfect for a short trip to Sebago Lake for a Pontoon rental. Also convenient to grocery shopping for BBQ dinners at the house. Enjoyed winding down with playing games at family sized tables but also enough space to have quiet time alone. Tree swing was a favorite.

We had a delightful stay in this warm, welcoming house. We enjoyed skiing nearby at King Pine, followed by fires in the wood stove and puzzles/games in the evenings. I especially love the thick down comforters and beautiful mountain views. Highly recommend this home!

Super Safe Pandemic Retreat!

Amazing stay, near great hikes and with beautiful views. The space was MUCH bigger than we anticipated, very clean, and relatively secluded which was nice. Felt super safe with the pandemic and everything as the whole place was clean. Fit perfectly for a group of 9, and we plan on coming back in the summer of 2021! :)

Incredible Views!

We had a lovely stay. The home is delightfully cozy with incredible views. We loved waking up seeing the mountains every morning. We also enjoyed having fires every single day. The owner got back to us very fast with any questions that came up during our stay. The most beautiful room is the upstairs bedroom where from the large windows you can see mountains everywhere!

Beautiful views and fall foliage!

This house was a great place to stay with beautiful fall foliage. The house was as expected by pictures and pretty clean. There was a large collection of DVDs and games, which we enjoyed using. Would recommend!

Group Trip - July 2020

Me and my friends enjoyed our stay! Very spacious, much more so than we expected with a finished basement. Very clean and nice kitchen. We went in summer and enjoyed using the gas grill. The house sits on a spacious plot which was great for chilling outside and stargazing. I especially like sitting in the sunroom as the sun rose. But others enjoyed sitting in the living room where you can see the mountains in the distance. The location is an easy drive to lakes, or mountains, or forest. We went for a short hike up green mountain. Im not sure the house has air conditioning... or me and my friends couldnt figure it out. There were plenty of fans available though.

Palatial Country Home

We went up for a long weekend with our two teenage children who each brought a friend. There was plenty of room which THREE levels of living space. The house was immaculate and VERY COMFORTABLE, with nice linens and everything I needed in the kitchen. We had dinner or night in Wolfboro and enjoyed watching a sunset on the lake. We spent a lot of time at Lake Ossipee which was a ton of fun. One day we got lobsters close by and kicked back for the afternoon at the house. We will be back! Next time we would like to plan a day in North Conway shopping and perhaps enjoy the spa a Mt Washington Hotel.

The pictures don't even do this house justice it had so much room there were 8 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone the house was very clean the beds were soooo comfy the views were amazing the check in and check out was so easy would definitely stay here again

Great Views and Yard!

We had a lovely stay at this house; the views are amazing and the yard is perfect for hanging out and enjoying games, etc. The house is very clean and comfortable, you can tell they are putting work into it to make it great!

House was beautiful and very clean

House was bigger than I thought it would be we had 8 people and more then enough room for us all landscaping and deck could use some work but doesn't change my 5 star rating check in was easy I had no need to talk to property owner everything went very smoothly that is the only reason I gave it a 3 star for communication with owner it's located kind of far from main attractions but the ride too and from Conway was senic so it was nice the weather wasn't very nice while we where there until we were leaving so didn't get to enjoy the beautiful view from the house till we were leaving would definitely stay there again
