Casa Monte Clara is located in the hills of Andalucia within a 10 minutes drive of Lake Vinuela and 5 minutes to the white washed traditional village of Riogordo with its bars and shops. The house has been furnished in a very traditional style and enjoys breathtaking views of the national park and village. The property has a large entrance hall/lounge/diner and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside a shaded patio awaits, where you can dine and enjoy the pool, sun terraces and views. You are surrounded by olive groves and almond trees and the mossy amazing views you could ever find.
The area is wonderful for simply relaxation, exploring Andalucia & walking. The beach of Torre del Mar is 20 min. Malaga 35min. and Granada within an hours drive.

TV with android box for your Netflix amazon sticks. When WiFi is provided.

Local information: Here you will find the real Spain and the scenery is breathtaking. Suitable for those people wishing to holiday in tranquil surroundings, but being not far from local Spanish restaurants and bars in the numerous white washed villages. Most of the bars and restaurants locally, are family run and provide good food at good prices. You can visit the hill top Village of Comares with it's fantastic views of the sea, yet still unspoilt by tourism. The local villages each have a weekly market. For those wanting more shops and facilities the town of Torre del Mar is 20 minutes drive away. There you will find a night market in summer months and uncrowded beaches.WIFI AVAILABLE. please request before arrival

Lovely traditional house set in fantastic surroundings. Weather not so good but did not spoil the relaxing atmosphere of the area and house. Easy access to local towns and motorway to main places to visit. Antequerra particularly nice to visit.Other tourist resorts within 30 kms to get back to some excellent shopping in Torremolinos and Malaga. Car essential unless you are a mountain goat! Enjoyed whole experience, and thanks for getting shopping Lisa as we arrived so late. December 2009/January 2010

stunning views

Our stay was excellent. stunning views from monte clara. Across the mountains you can see Compares. A village on top of a mountain in the distance. At sunset the village all lit up with the sunset. At night time it lights up, looks beautiful. Riogordo below you, lights up too. An amazing place. The property was really clean and tidy. The pool was crystal clear. The hosts were lovely. Pool was regularly cleaned. Riogordo is a small town, bars and supermarkets cater for most of your needs. Malaga is only about 40 mins away. The property is easy to find when you turn off the main road. It was really hot whilst we were there, but a nice breeze, being in the mountains made it a very pleasant stay. Overall, an excellent stay and would defiantly stay again. Thank you Lisa and Julian for a lovely holiday

Super Aussicht und Insekten

Fantastischer Blick in die Landschaft. Leider gab es sehr vile Ameisen (auch im Bett) und Vespen auf der Veranda. Wegen der Wasserknappheit gab es öfter kein fließendes Wasser. Der Vorratstank hat nur bedingt Abhilfe geschaffen. Etwas mehr Schatten auf der Veranda wäre schön gewesen.

Thank you for your review. The house is always cleaned and prepared for guests. Unfortunately in August in a heatwave , there can be ants if food is dropped or drinks spilt. we do leave ant powder in the house. The water is sometimes cut at night during the height of summer, but we do have a 2000 litre back up tank for guests to use. This would ensure that you alway have water, but unfortunately you do not consult us to switch this over, which meant you lost the water back down the pipe. The town water man, ensured the water got to the property within 1 hour, but you had left he property for The Alhambra. We are sorry for your inconvenience , as we are alway n the end of the phone for all guests at all times of the day or night. We have ensured there is shade on the top terrace and provide an umbrella for the lower pool terrace should you require. We will however look at this . Thank you for your comments.

Gemütliche Finca in unbeschreiblicher Lage

The views are fantastic!

We had a lovely stay at the villa at the start of July. The villa has everything you need for a holiday - although you will spend most of your time outside looking at the views from the poolside or under the shaded terrace. A couple of queries we had were sorted out very quickly and even events outside of their control like the area water supply being cut off, were dealt with quickly - Julian popped over on a Sunday evening to switch us to the other supply! You do need to hire a car, as although the village is close, you wouldn't want to walk back up the hill All in all - a lovely week and it was great to actually be there after we had to move the dates twice due to the pandemic -Lisa was very accommodating with our changes.

La casa está bien ubicada y el acceso es bueno. Es bonita y esta bien equipada. Sin embargo la piscina estaba un poco sucia, los colchones de las camas eran incómodos, y únicamente había un rollo de papel de wc para un fin de semana y 7 personas. Por lo demas bien. El trato con la propietaria fue agradable y fluido.

Thank you for your review We are glad you enjoyed your stay and like the house . The house is self catering we always leave a starter supply of toilet roll ,washing liquid until you get to the shops. All the beds have new matresses but when there are 7 people , the sofabeds are required which can be less comfortable . Relaxing stay with everything you could need

A lovely little villa in a nice location. We hardly went out the week we were there. The kitchen is small but has everything you need and the BBQ was an added bonus. Lisa was very hospitable, answering any questions I had and getting some basics in for us as we arrived on Sunday and all the shops were closed. Thank you for a relaxing week!

Monte Clara is a beautiful little house in an idyllic setting in the Andalusian hills

Our family (wife, 3 daughters & myself) had a wonderful time in Monte Clara. It's a lovely little house in a peaceful & beautiful setting, & in a great location with beaches, Malaga, & various other interesting places all within a 35 minute drive through amazing scenery. Julian & Lisa were great. Julian came regularly to clean the pool & check everything was ok. A couple of lightbulbs went during our stay, & when we told him about it he went straight to the local shop & came back to change them. Both were very friendly & personable. They have great knowledge about the area & restaurants etc, & we always enjoyed our conversations with them. Riogordo can be seen from the terraces & is only a few minutes drive away & is a lovely little Andalusian town with friendly locals, a small supermarket, petrol station, & a few nice & very reasonable restaurants & bars. Perched on the hill behind Riogordo & a short & stunning drive further is Comares - one of the highest towns in Andalusia - a beautiful little very old Moorish town with cobbled pedestrianised streets full of character & with breathtaking views over the surrounding area. Monte Clara has plenty of Spanish character, & we enjoyed some lovely tranquil days there making the most of the pool, views, & barbecue. The pool is a decent size for a family, & we managed to teach our youngest daughters to swim in it, so for this reason & many others I'm sure Monte Clara is a place we'll always remember fondly. Schitterend uitzichten, privacy en rust. Heerlijk genieten van het Spaanse land.

Even bijkomen van alle drukte, door te genieten van de rust en de vele mooie vergezichten vanuit Casa Monte Clara. Afkoelen in het zwembad en mogelijkheid tot bbq en . Lisa en Julian reageerden snel en adequaat op vragen over het huisje en de omgeving.

Amazing!!!!

We booked the villa for a surprise birthday present after having problems travelling to the villa Lisa and Julian couldn't have been more helpful arranging their daughter to take us to malaga so we could continue our holiday. The villa is stunning, everything a family would need and had everything you need for a holiday the pool was beautiful with plenty of room for 5 with room for more and was kept really clean and maintained to a high standard by Julian who came to clean and was very friendly and helpful. The views from the villa were breathtaking situated in a perfect area for any type of holiday would definitely come back again. Couldn't meet a nicer couple and we will be highly recommending to our family and friends. Thank you so much Julian and Lisa for making our holiday so special.

Breathtaking views

Casa Monte Clara had two bedrooms and a large open plan area with padded bench seating around a coffee table and a dining table and chairs to seat 6. There is also a dedicated kitchen area with plaster storage spaces formed in the waist height walls, separating the area from the rest of the room andalso storage spaces in the main house wall. This theme also runs through into the bedrooms with plastered shelving areas and warobe space with covering curtains. There is a shower room with a blue spanish basin and tiled surround. Flooring throughout is tiled. There is a microwave, hob and oven. Outside is a long covered area with a patio table and 6 chairs which lead on to a further seating area and outside washing machine. Steps lead down to the small but very useful pool which has the bonus of lighting for night time swimming. There are several loungers and some sun chairs to offer seating to see the most glorious views which are a perk of the stay There are neighbours but these only seem to appear at weekends and seem quiet. This is a very rustic holiday and the rural aspect is very peaceful. Our only problem was keeping very tiny red ants at bay as, at times, they seemed to like us, even though we were very careful not to leave food around! Riogordo nearby is a friendly town with all amenties. We didn't meet Lisa but Julian was a very helpful owner who was always willing to put himself out if needed. The interior was cool in the heat and the shutters on every window were most welcome.

Lovely Honeymoon get-away!

Well, after a very stressful few months before the wedding, I and my wife came on a great honeymoon to this beautiful little Casa, near a small but pretty little village/town called Riogordo. Perfect for a well needed time to relax!! (we even got a bottle of Cava thrown in!) The views were amazing, the swimming pool was perfect for cooling down during the very hot days, and as long as you have good transport, it's not too far from shops and good days out. Malaga is also not too far away, and full of such character, beaches and good days out. For a whole week in a place not too far off the beaten track, we thought that it was very well priced and just lovely! Would recommend to family and friends. It was very clean and well kept, the swimming pool was also well looked after and clean. Thank you Lisa for providing us with such a lovely start to our married life together!
