6 Acre Lakefront Farmhouse W / Ski See Access, Kajakfahren, SUP und Bass Fishing

Misty, thank you so much for the kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed the views and the property. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime.

Gary, thank you for your review and for your kind words about our responsiveness—we truly appreciate that. We’re always glad to be there quickly when needed to make sure your stay goes smoothly. Regarding the 10am checkout, that is actually the most common standard across vacation rentals and helps allow enough time to properly prepare the home for the next guests. We do our best to accommodate late checkouts whenever possible, but in this case we had another arrival scheduled that same day. We apologize for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!

Here’s a warm and thoughtful thank you message you can send: Thank you so much, Donna, for the kind review! We’re so glad you and your sister enjoyed your stay at The Farmhouse and got to take advantage of the lake and all the space. We’re truly sorry you didn’t realize the washer and dryer are located downstairs in the barn unit — we’ll be sure to make that clearer for future guests. We’d love to welcome you both back anytime. Warmly, The Silvers.

Mike, thank you so much for taking the time to share this—it truly means a lot to us. We’re so glad the home could be a peaceful retreat for you during what we know can be a stressful time with renovations. It’s great to hear that you felt comfortable and at home, and that you enjoyed the little details and unique character of the property. It’s always special to hear that the setting provided that sense of escape, especially being so close by. We’d absolutely love to host you again anytime you need a getaway, even if it’s just right down the road!

We’re disappointed to read this review, especially considering the condition in which the property was left and the behavior of the guests. Despite being informed in advance of occasional visits to care for chickens on-site, we were accused of showing up unannounced—something that never occurred. What did happen, however, was the unauthorized entry into a separate, locked unit not included in their rental. That space was clearly off-limits, and charges were applied accordingly. The home was left in disarray: doors and windows wide open, trash left behind, dishes piled high, and a window found broken during the post-stay inspection completed just one hour after checkout. This particular window had stood through multiple hurricanes without issue, yet was completely shattered after their stay. When contacted, the guest denied responsibility, stating, “That window was fine when we got there. We never touched the hallway windows.” We believe this review was written in retaliation after being held accountable with a $400 charge for the damage. It does not reflect the reality of the stay. We remain committed to hosting respectful guests who appreciate and care for the space—something this group clearly did not.
