The location in the Keys was what we were looking for. The other ratings about the smell outside are all true. The outdoors smells like rotting swamp, because, that's what it is. The house accommodated my spouse and our three adult children fine. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The kitchen was disappointing. Basic items were missing such as a baking pan, a spatula or knives that actually cut. For a place that can sleep 6 comfortably, there ought to be more than 4 mis-matched glasses. The tableware is all very tired, chipped and cracked. I contacted the property manager about the lack of a sink stopper, garbage bags and dishwasher detergent. She had her cleaning person respond. We did get the garbage bags. She delivered 2 sink strainers instead of a stopper, and more dish soap, but nothing to put into the dishwasher. Since we have done a bit of camping in our lives, we improvised. But, for the money spent, we weren't expecting to have to wash dishes by hand in a pot. The property manager's response to my request was "Typcially, we do not supply trash bags, dish soap, paper towels etc..." Maybe that could have been explained in the Vrbo listing. However, the property manager really came through with the handy man who replaced a light fixture in the master bathroom that did not work. Don't plan on using the kayaks. 7 of 8 paddles are broken. You need to transport them somewhere to put in. Overall, a place for guys looking to fish & crash, not families.
