The unit needed lots of work. It was roomy for the 2 of us. Pros for us: it was next to the elevator, a pool, and the cafe. There was a good view of the ocean from the balcony. Things are outdated and walls needed to be painted (there were swaths of white primer or paint on different colored walls), cabinets were in need of repair. The kitchen ceiling appeared to be drywall mud or putty. The toilet in the king room ran constantly and wasn't sturdy. The TV in the king room didn't work. The water was barely warm enough for a shower. We didn't pay much, so we did not complain. We wouldn't stay again as it is.

Great location

Pool and beach access was great! Tiki bar available right next to pool and beach. Room needs a little updating but other than that it was great and very accommodating! Would recommend!

Over all the resort and condo are decent. The condo itself is very outdated and looks like the bare minimum is being done to keep it rent able. The resort is fine. The elevators broke once and if u don’t rent a chair for 50 dollars a day u can’t sit by the water. Also it’s a nightmare getting across traffic. The condo is right at the pool so every morning at 6 the clean the pool with a blower and it woke me up every single day. Destin was a complete let down wouldn’t recommend Destin. But the condo is good for its price

The owners communication was outstanding they let us check In super early !! My only complaint was that it was very outdated and kinda dirty.. very old towels and the walls were super dusty and around the tv in the balcony room there was a dead bug lol (whatever ya know) besides the old feel and dust it was accommodating to what we wanted for a night.

Not enjoyed the stay with depressing condo for the price i paid

Condo is really old and not renovated. I had a depressing feeling after checking in for the price i paid 512 per night. Beds are not comfortable at all, my kids had trouble sleeping on those beds. Also it is in 3rd floor very close to ground, so you wont enjoy the beach view much. The host communication was good and helped with early checkin and late checkout.

The condo unit was poorly maintained. Unit was only partially painted "unprofessionaly". There was no extra bedding (pillows, sheets or blankets) furniture was outdated and worn. Beach had restricted access with multiple rows of rental chairs. "50% unoccupied" Personal owned chairs had to be setup behind the rental chairs with extremely limited view and access to shoreline. Pools and amenities at the resort were well maintained. Elevators were being renovated which required longer wait times.

Owner clearly has no pride in ownership

This place is completely outdated & it is very clear that the owner does not care. There was sand all over the floor when we got there after it had just been cleaned. We had no way to clean it up. Towel rack kept falling off the wall. Toilet in master bath is not mounted to the floor, pain job in the entire place is ridiculous. Only positive thing I can think of about this condo is the location although the elevators near it was down so we had to walk far to the other elevators.

Decent place to stay

The only major complaint I had staying here was that the AC is blocked from going below 72 degrees. Some of us didn't sleep well because it was hot throughout the night. The owner never responded back to me when I asked if we could override the thermostat and make it cooler inside. Other than that, the place was about what I expected with the price being lower than all the others. If they AC was colder I would definitely stay here again.

I have fixed the thermostat issue. It's good to know that I have lower prices than anyone else. I appreciate good input like this, but if you are reading and ultimately decide to stay at my place; please call me if you are considering leaving a, less than 5 star review, and I will personally take care of any issue you may have. I hate that this guest was unable to reach someone I do have two assistants that are available twenty-four hours a day as am I, if anything comes up, however during this reservation I was sick in the hospital and hard-to-reach.I guess it was a bit of bad luck

Not very handicap accessible

The property is not very handicap accessible at all the condo was so out dated the furniture was grossly dirty the condo needed painted and looked like they started but stopped before done the appliances where gross as well couldn't get on the patio with my wheelchair the toilet was to low and couldn't transfer I do not recommend this place if your in a wheelchair

Needs lots of TLC

The location was great but the place needs to be totally updated. It was rundown and looked dingy and dirty. We couldn’t get the tv in the queen room to work. It was hung above the closet with the cords and cables just hanging there. Very sketchy. The pillows were totally flat and we had to go buy new ones. The dryer took forever to dry towels and the door lock was totally jacked up even after the property manager tried fixing it. It was apparent that this property has received no attention in a very long time. On a positive note, the property manager did respond to any and all correspondence.

Good resort, bad condo

Our experience started with walking in to a dirty condo. The owners father was the cleaning crew and 1- was extremely slow, and 2- did a horrible job. 1.5 hours later (past check-in time) the condo was ‘ready’. The floor was never mopped, the master bathroom continued to have a weird smell, the patio furniture was dirty and very crappy. The location of the condo is right above the indoor/outdoor pool. It is very loud! The pool stays open until 10pm and it’s noisy all day until then. The location of the condo in relation to everything else in Destin is awesome. Great facilities and being on the ocean was wonderful. We would stay at Pelican Bay again, but never in that condo again, nor will I ever rent from them at any of their other owned properties again. Very unprofessional and very overpriced for what we received. Overall, look into other properties here, not with this owner.

This guest arrived over an hour early on the afternoon that I had received a report that a toilet seat was loose from the maid. We give the entry code to our guests early so they don't have wait in line and the guest had already moved in by the time I returned with parts to repair the broken toilet seat. Tracking the floor was unavoidable if the repair was to be made nor could we have cleaned unit again with them in the unit. The pool closes at 10 p.m. We are available 24 hours day if you need us. The unit's great location avoids long elevator waits and is closest to the amenities! Other than locking them out of the unit I could not have done anything different!

Need some updates

The property is in a prime location . We love, pelican Beach resorts. The elevator close to the room was broke ,but it was only on the third floor so we just use the stairs. The three pools the hot tubs. Everything on this resort is great. The condo itself is not amazing though. The dishwasher was broken. Had some issues with the door at one point whoever cleaned did a horrible job when we got there. The bathroom smelled terrible. I had to mop it and wash the rugs. There was mildew on the shower curtain, one of the drawers is missing from the kitchen cabinet, the bathtub doesn’t drain well so you are definitely standing in water while you’re showering .it basically needs a little facelift . The rental is cheaper than a lot of the other ones, so if you’re willing to stand in water when you shower and look the other way at the other issues , might be the place for you. The owner has great communication and even offered us early check in .

Great time in Destin

First time to Destin. Beautiful beaches, great restaurants and lots to do. Resort was very clean & well maintained. To check in & get carpass took only 5 minutes. Grounds crew were out early every morning cleaning & sweeping pool areas. Resort has six gas BBQ grills in courtyard & every night they were heavily used. We BBQ'd one night & enjoyed having a beer, BBQing and getting to know others. Great idea at a resort! Pools were clean and never too crowded. Beaches were very crowded but we expected since it was Spring Break. Only complaint was that umbrellas/chairs were set up each morning and many were never used and they blocked the view of the water. Kids are 8 and 10 and we enjoyed Little Nemo Fishing Charter down by the Fishermans Warf. Very reasonable (around $30.00 per)for 3 hour boat ride through harbor and fishing if you don't want to spend a lot on private charter boat. Caught red snapper & even a flounder. Would highly recommend. Restaurants down by warf were fabulous with a great view of the harbor. Also enjoyed the Fudpuckers restaurant on Hwy 98 with live alligator show while you wait to be seated. You can also write your name anywhere in restaurant if you buy a sharpie from them for a buck. Kids thought that was hilarious. If you have kids, you definitely have to go there. Good food there as well. Condo itself is in a great location right in the middle of all the action. Across from Huge Water park. Go carts, arcades, miniature golf only minutes away as are grocery stores and a movie theatre. Condo sits above indoor/outdoor pool and just steps from coffee shop/cafe with outside seating. Great view of the pool(s) and ocean from the large balcony. We did spot dolphins one morning. Well stocked with all kitchen appliances and there were plenty of beach toys/shovels/boogie boards to use. Some of the furnishings are a little outdated but it was clean, easy to access and owner was very easy to work with. Deposit already received. I would say hard to beat price right on the beach and all the conveniences you would need. Thanks Bart. Would definitely recommend to others especially if you have kids.

Condo needs updates!!

The condo is at great location!! I just wish the owner pays more attention to the things that needs to be more updated, new towels, pillows and kitchen supplies . Also the front door lock needs to be replaced ASAP. This is my second time staying here and our family and I always have a great time.

Nice stay

It was a nice stay but there are not enough elevators for the amount of people with beach gear and check in carts! Had to wait 30 minutes to go down to the beach. And no room on beach for kids and toys due to chair rental taking up all the beach space at property!
