This is a fabulous location in the shopping district of Madrid. It is also within walking distance to Plaza Mayor, the Prado, and the Royal Palace. It is very accessible to the metro and light rail. There is a major grocery store and huge department store directly across from the flat’s building entrance. You can find everything you can possibly need or want at this store.
Restaurants abound. You will not go hungry!
Do not be dissuaded by the graffiti on the front entrance, it does not represent the interior of the building or the flat. The stairway is a bit dark, and the elevator is a bit small by American standards, but the building is clean and seemed quite safe. The flat itself is very modern and very clean. There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was great.
The induction cooktop took a moment to learn but shortly we were using it with no issues. The bed was firm and quite comfortable.
Though this location is right smack dab in the middle of the shopping district of Sol and the streets are lively late into the night, the flat is an interior unit and is very quiet.
We highly recommend this flat and would stay here again.

I stayed from Sep 12-14 2016. Super great location, you can walk many places, metro station right outside the front door too. Apartment was super clean, bed comfortable, plenty of room for two people, a nice break from a hotel room! There is an elevator for to help with the transfer of your bags. The shopping mall across the street has a full size supermarket! You can pick up anything you need in that mall as well. I noticed travel books to refer to on the shelf which was a great resource. I would definitely recommend this for your stay.
Modern apartment steps away from the Metro, the Market, and Puerta del Sol. We found the bed to be quite comfortable and the apartment to be very quite in spite of being just off of del Sol. The staff was friendly and responsive. If you intend to wash clothes during your stay, have the staff deliver it upon your arrival.
We had a terrible start, requested an early check inn but nobody was there, we had to wait 50 minutes on the cold street and they still charged 40 Euros.
We also had some issues with the apartment but Leticia never answer our phone calls.
Really enjoyed our stay in Madrid - location & apartment were HUGE part of that!!! Shopping (grocery too!) and entrance to Metro right out front door! Apartment was just as it appears in listing, and owner was available and helpful. He met us at apartment at check-in time which was convenient.
We highly recommend a visit to Chocolatier San Gines for 'churros and hot chocolate'. It's open 24x7 just a short 5 minutes from apartment. Delicious & and the BEST in Madrid!

This was a real gem, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and highly recommend - it is walking distance to nearly everything in old/scenic Madrid (we even walked to Reina Sofia, but taxi'ed back from Prado). On weekend evenings, the Puerta del Sol is a kaleidoscope of people and street performers - highly entertaining. If you want to take the Metro, all three Madrid lines go through Sol station, and it's easy to hail a cab there day/night.
A few things we wish we had known up front:
1) the key pick-up is a few miles away, so we were lucky and accepted the airport "transfer" from the property manager (emailed a few days prior to our arrival). Airport taxi is a flat 30 Euro anyhow, so for an extra 10 we got a driver who knew where to stop for the keys (we never found a Madrid taxi driver who spoke any English, so getting one with instructions "pre-loaded" was a big plus), and didn't pay extra for the stop/wait at the management office.
2) The apt is just off Puerta del Sol, which means the taxi only can get you within about 3-4 blocks; make sure you can move your luggage this distance without assistance.
3) Ignore the street-level view/door; the apartment was on the 4th floor and quiet as a tomb, despite being so close to a bustling street scene. Elevator is smooth and holds 2 passengers + luggage easily
4) A few things took getting used to - the door has a multi-bolt "bank safe" design, and you need to turn the key 3+ full turns to fully unlock it (we were close to despair, until we figured this out). The WiFi name/password is printed on the box behind the sofa. We never figured how to work the induction range, but the microwave, washer, and dishwasher were simple enough to work, and we were grateful for all three; there was laundry/dishwasher detergent under the sink to use. The cable TV has a host of Spanish-language channels, but nothing in English.
5) If you need (literally) anything, walk across the street to the Corte Ingles, go down one flight, and there is a huge grocery store with good prices and tons of Spanish wines. We stocked the fridge cheaply.
6) You can Yelp restaurants in the area; we found a good one on Calle de Bordadores (El Neru).
I wouldn't recommend it for four, but it is large/luxurious for a couple, and we would return in a heartbeat, if we are in Madrid again. My sole recommendation to the owner would be to leave 1-2 pages of English instructions for the appliances (stove/range, in particular).

The Schedule to Check In is from 15h to 20h. From 20h to 23h a 30€ fee will be paid and from 23h a 50€ fee. This fee should be paid at the Check In, upon arrival. Enter before 15h, may incur additional charges
The Check Out time is before 11h, if you want to leave the apartment later must be requested in advance and based on availability, I will be happy to help you. It may incur additional charges
Remember that the apartment must be returned in the same conditions of order and cleanliness upon arrival
I beg that out the trash every day, with special care in the summer months
It is important to respect the number of people who will occupy the apartment, whose number should never exceed stipulated in the booking. Otherwise the customer will be asked to immediately vacate the apartment without compensation
Please be kind to the rest of the neighbours, in the event that discomfort generated by noise or loud music, kindly ask cessation of it. If there is a second notice we are entitled to ask the client and his companions exit the apartment immediately, without the customer is entitled to the refund of the stay already paid or bail. Should these annoyances generate some fine by the police, you will be charged to the customer account
No pets, no smoking allowed
Please be careful with luggage, not to damage the walls, everything is new
Always be sure to close the apartment and do not forget the keys
Loss or forgetfulness of them inside the apartment and having to move to open yourselves, will incur an additional charge of 50 €. If locksmith is required, the amount thereof shall be paid
Turn off lights and air conditioning before leaving the apartment, this will help save energy and protect the environment
