Oceanview Condo with Balconies, Pool & Daily Service

Playa Caribe 4 is an art-filled second-floor condo set on the northern wing of Half Moon Bay, designed for couples, families, or friends traveling together. With two bedrooms, two baths, and space for six, it combines authentic Mexican décor with modern conveniences.

The Master Bedroom features a king bed with soft linens, ensuite bath with tub/shower, dual sinks, and balconies with dual views of ocean and jungle. The second bedroom includes two double beds with romantic mosquito canopies, private bath, and its own balcony overlooking the greenery. Both bedrooms and the living/dining areas are cooled by central AC.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, fridge, small appliances, and a breakfast bar that looks across the bay. The open-concept layout connects to a terrace where guests can dine, relax, or watch marine life in the water below. Unique features include stained-glass windows, a Mexican mask collection, and original paintings.

Guests enjoy daily housekeeping, beach towels, purified water, parking, and concierge support. Shared amenities include a pool, BBQ grill, loungers, and an outdoor shower. The property also carries the CEA Ecological seal for sustainable practices.

Half Moon Bay’s reef and calm waters are excellent for snorkeling—water shoes recommended. Restaurants, shops, and Yal Ku Lagoon are within walking distance. A rental car or private driver is best for exploring further afield to Mayan ruins, cenotes, and nearby towns.

KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry.

The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Fantastic family stay but sargasso covered beach and water, NO clean up.

We loved Playa Caribe, condo was very clean and spacious for our family of 5. The location was perfect with lots of nearby attractions and dining. Fly into Tulum as it’s smaller, closer and much easier than Cancun. The ONLY negative for our stay was the amount of sargasso (seaweed). It made both the beach and ocean completely inaccessible so we had to drive to get to a beach club which kept up with the seaweed. Guests should know there is NO clean up here and it is impossible to enter the ocean or access the beach due to lack of clean up.

The light and ocean breeze coming in wonderful. My favourite was drinking coffee on the balcony in the morning, watching the ocean glimmer in the morning sunlight ...blissful? All the staff at Playa Caribe were extremely friendly and helpful. I didn’t need to contact Akumal Direct during out stay but they were very helpful answering my questions in the lead up to our trip.Half Moon Bay is the perfect place to situate yourself if you want to get away from the crowds. There were many days that we had almost the whole beach to ourselves. There was quite a bit of Sargassum during our stay and although we couldn’t enter the water near our apartment, we only had to walk along the beach for a few minutes to find the perfect spot for snorkelling we which we all absolutely loved...even my teenager. My 9-year-old loved the swimming pool and I loved the fact that I could watch him and still be able to see the ocean. I highly recommend coming to Playa Caribe

The unit could use a few more dishes, some glasses and cups were chipped. Needs another cutting board. There were lots of containers with lids. They left a few fruits and things which was a nice touch. Beautiful views. The beach however is very short so not a lot of room with others. Only one palapa also. Nice pool too. All in all, good place but if you like to be on the beach, not the greatest pick.

Awesome stay in Akumal

We were extremely happy with the condo. It was in a great location and decorated beautifully in authentic Mexico style. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the covered balcony overlooking the ocean was spectacular. There were several restaurants within walking distance as well as a small market across the street for drinks and snacks. The welcome basket was a nice surprise. You definitely need water shoes before entering the ocean.

The kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need to cook meals in the condo. The complimentary bowl of fruit, popcorn and other snacks was a very nice touch also. Very close to many beautiful cenotes in the area also. We would highly recommend Playa Caribe, Condo #4, for your visit to Akumal.

Reviewer Comments: Playa Caribe was the perfect location for our first visit to Akumal.It is centrally located in Half Moon Bay, within walking distance to great restaurants, a small market, Ya-Kul Lagoon and more. The condo itself was perfect, with a well stocked kitchen (we even had coffee!) and everything we needed for our family of four, including beach towels, coolers, and umbrellas. The beds were super comfortable, and we all loved the beautifully tiled showers with the best water pressure we have ever experienced.The staff is friendly and helpful, and our neighbors downstairs were extremely helpful with making recommendations for restaurants and activities. It’s also nice to have such ample parking on the property. Make sure to check out the rooftop patio, with the best view of Half Moon Bay. Yes, there is seaweed, but you can walk down the beach 5 houses away and snorkel in clear waters, or access Akumal Bat thru Lol-Ha Restaurant. We will be back to Playa Caribe #4!

The beds are comfy, and the unit decorated with a Mexican Zen flair. The property is well kept and has security at night. The area has some nice dining options that you can walk too. I could sit on the porch for hours just taking in the gentle waves while looking for marine life. We will defiantly be booking #4 again in the near future.

The condo is a 5 minute walk to two great restaurants and a 20 minute walk to several more in town. My favorite is Taverna for the nummy Italian food and ambiance and coming in 2nd is Turtle Bay so I can watch NFL football! Playa Caribe #4 is the most appointed condo I have ever stayed in. Tupperware containers, bag clips, wine vac, etc. AC and WiFi worked great. Our microwave burned up and the management had a new one for us within minutes. My only disappointment is that the pictures don’t match the condo. Not a major thing. Different cushions and bedspreads, art work etc. But I was really disappointed the patio did not have a regular table with chairs. They have a nice patio set instead. I always pick units with tables so I can sit and eat outside so a bit of a bummer. Also the toaster oven needs to replaced the knobs kept coming off! It was very clean and our maid Patricia was awesome. We left dishes for her everyday!! Loved that were tables around the pool. Spent most of my time hanging out there. Been coming to Akumal for 20 years and Playa Caribe has become my favorite place to stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed the beautiful Villa #4. Amazing views, good communication from David the concierge. Cleaning staff was very good. The only complaint I have is that someone was in our room when we arrived at midnight. The security guard let them into our room when there was a clearly written note on the front door of the office stating my name, condo number, and that it was unlocked for us to go into since it was after hours. We got it resolved, but I would suggest a lock box system for late arriving guests to avoid confusion, and better communication between front office staff and security. Also for security purposes I would have felt safer if there wasn’t a note for the public to read with my name and room number on display. Other than this mishap we really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to close screen door on patio because a bird flew into our room and pooped everywhere! Our bad. Also renting a golf cart was a great way to get around.

Spacious, comfortable, private and great view of the sea. Close proximity to wonderful restaurant as well as grocery stores so that we could easily cook in the fully functional kitchen. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The only drawback was that we had to make extra arrangements with transportation services because they didn’t know where it was.

The condo is also stocked with everything you need, from cookware, glasses, cups, TP, paper towels, spices etc. It is within walking distance to Yal Ku lagoon, which is why we chose it in the first place. Unfortunately, the sargassum in Akumal at the time of our stay (mid May) was awful, which caused us not to be able to get into the sea. The smell was really, really strong too, to the point that it was basically impossible to be outside. The managers of the condo kindly informed of the situation weeks before we arrived though, so we were aware.

We loved the area, beautiful and quiet. Walking distance to a convenience store, nice fun beach bar and restaurant, also a great massage place was nearby too. A short drive to a beautiful lagoon and just far enough away from Tulum and Cancun to be peaceful and relaxing. The property was well maintained with a beautiful atrium central to the building... great housekeeping and friendly, helpful staff all around. We loved the roman style tub/shower combo in the bathrooms, plentiful balconies and falling asleep to ocean wave sounds. We hope to return to Playa Caribe one day!

It only had local channels and none were acceptable. No news channels available.

We had wonderful people that cleaned our room as often as we needed. The property manager was always helpful. The pool and beach out front was clean and we could snorkel right from the beach. We enjoyed all the surrounding restaurants. Never had a bad meal. All food was delicious!

Home away from Home

A piece of heaven in wonderful Akumal! This condo was everything we hoped it would be, and more. The photos and description are quite accurate. My husband and I spent a wonderful week here and have no regrets whatsoever. The condo was spotlessly clean, attended by maid service each day, and had everything we needed in the kitchen and condo to make ourselves very comfortable. Now… About that mind blowing view of the ocean! We could not get enough of it! When we were not watching the waves on the balcony, we were down luxuriating on the beach. After beach time we could be found one of the several nearby wonderful restaurants, snorkelling, or riding our bikes through this quaint and lovely neighbourhood. You will never regret spending time here.

Best stay ever!

Our vacation was to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday and a number of family members stayed at other condos along Half Moon Bay. We spent time at each condo and I feel like this unit was head and shoulders above the rest.
