This wonderful home has all the amenities for a lovely stay. Furnishings are a little worn. Extras like blankets were scare and the WIFI was dreadful! (We used hot spots more than we ever have at a VRBO) But everything worked great. My complaint is that it didnā€™t have the extra special things that make a rental from an owner lovely - like instructions for appliances, or a book of fun things to do in the area, or menus for local restaurants. It definitely had a ā€œcorporate rentalā€ feel. But itā€™s right on the beach with a private access gate to miles and miles of wonderful sand. It is close to Galveston, but feels much more laid back than Galveston (a free and frequent ferry ride away). And for seeing gators and turtles and other wildlife, the Jocelyn refuge canā€™t be beat!

We could see the waves from the comfort of the couch as well, so even on the day that it rained and was a bit chilly, we were still able to enjoy the ocean. The house had lots of puzzles and games which came in handy on the rainy day.We loved that it was fairly secluded - though there are other houses around, there is a lot of space between everything.One of the selling the points for us was the fact that it was dog-friendly and had a big fenced-in yard. Unfortunately, the yard was full of stickers - so be aware if you bring a pup! There is a path that leads from the house to the beach, which was fairly sticker-free - and our dog learned pretty quickly to stay on it.Overall a great house and would stay again.

Two Week Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this budget friendly rental. The location is right on the beach and only a short drive to stores and restaurants. The Nauti Beaver Hut is a fun place to hang out with fun activities and good music on the weekends. Tia Juanitaā€™s is a must for us when we stay in Bolivar! If you are bringing small dogs, the gate at the driveway has gaps they can get through, so I recommend bringing something to put in front of it. There are sticker burrs so wear shoes when walking through the yard to the beach.

It is just steps from the water. You can sit on the balcony and look at the water or walk down and be right on the beach. It is pretty private. There are no close neighbors. There is a beautiful view out of every window. The Camelot is also affordable. This trip we stayed three weeks and were still not ready to leave. As a matter of fact, we are ready to go back. The staff at Cobb Real Estate are always very helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure our stay is great every single time. The Camelot is so great that I really don't want to review it because I am afraid to get the word out and not be able to book this fabulous place because if more people knew, it would always be fully booked. LOL Thank you Cobb for everything!

The location was so good, sit on the terrace and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and for a swim in the sea, just a step away. The Big Store had everything you needed for the holiday, we cooked a few dinners in the house, and went out to eat at Stingaree, and Jose's, highly recommended. As we are bird watchers this is a perfect place to be, lots of birds by the house, not far to Bolivar flats, Anahuac, Smiths Point. We recommend this house, and will gladly come back another time. When we arrived yesterday, we were tremendously impressed that it was even more welcoming than ever. Please thank whoever was responsible for getting the house clean and inviting, with sheets already on the bed, towels and washcloths arranged in the bathrooms ~ even a supply of toilet paper, trash bags and dish/dishwasher detergents in a "goodie bag" on the kitchen counter. We were thankful that you had managed to mow the lawn, despite all the recent rains. As you know, the fence around the property is precarious at best. However we are appreciative of whoever propped it up with six large pieces of lumber to hold it in place for a while longer. There wasn't a chain on the main gate, and I had to dig the gate to the beach out of sand that prevented it from closing. However, I was able to secure both gates with bungee cords, so I'm confident the dogs can't escape. Thanks for being such an awesome property manager. We are very appreciative!

The Camelot Is Our Favorite Place To Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely love staying at the Camelot In Caplen on the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas. The location is the best all around because it is so close to the water and you aren't surrounded by neighbors. It is very private. The beach in front isn't crowded. The house has great views from the windows too. You can sit on the back balcony and see the ocean and sit on the front balcony and see the intercoastal waterway. The house is clean and designed with an open concept. Plenty of room for my husband and I along with our family who came to stay with us one of the weekends we were there. We stayed almost three weeks and still weren't ready to leave. Cobb Real Estate is the absolute best to work with. They go above and beyond. Airbnb and VRBO don't give you a beach bag and the best lip balm ever. We have stayed here several years and never once have we had any problems. The truth is I really don't want to review this property because it is a hidden gen and I am afraid to get the word out in fear of not being able to find it available when we want it. LOL But I promise you will love Cobb Real Estate and the Camelot.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great location. The only issues that we had were there were no supplies on site to use to clean with (dust pan, etc.) I will definitely stay here again.

The location is great, furniture is comfy, fully stocked with just about anything you could need. Love the fence and size of yard; just wish the sticker burrs werenā€™t everywhere!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camelot! This is the second time we've chosen this location and it's by far out favorite. There are no immediately adjacent neighbors so it feels private. The furnishings are comfortable and the appliances seem relatively new and in good working order. The house is spacious enough that you never feel on top of one another. We'll definitely be back!
