Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my second time renting a cabin thru Elk Springs Resort. This cabin was a little more dated than the previous property, although it certainly sufficed. Couple of issues that prospective renters should be aware of. The short road leading to the cabin and to one above ours was paved with gravel and very uneven. As a result, with other traffic leading to and from the cabin on the road above us, our vehicle was constantly covered in dust.Secondly, it should be noted that the two showers outside the king bedrooms double as a spa tub. If elderly folks were staying here, its very difficult getting in and out of the tub and should be noted on the rental. Lastly, unless you have a Roku pin number, your out of luck in terms of watching any current TV or sports events. Bring you sign ins for netflix, etc.

Hilltop Hideaway was awesome. So clean, quiet and roomy enough we were not tripping over each other. We enjoyed eating and drinking on the spacious deck. Used the hot tub too. Conveniently located. Elk Sprngs Resort customer support was AWESOME. I have never had a CS get back to me so quickly. Inside and outside very well taken care of.

It was so spacious and the location was awesome, away from the busy part of Gatlinburg but also just a quick drive into town. It was easy to find. We especially enjoyed the loft pool table and theater room! We visited in August so with the trees filled in there wasn't really a great mountain view but it was still lovely. The property was well-maintained and pretty clean although some of the floors were dusty. We had to call maintenance shortly after arriving to fix a chirping smoke alarm but the text option for customer service had fast response and someone came and fixed it quickly. We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!

The location and most of the amineties were awesome. However, the cabin is listed under luxury and that comes with certain expectations. First the furniture on the main floor was the most uncomfortable things to sit on. The mattress on the top floor seemed to have been there since the early 1980s. The shower on the top floor is pretty and up to date but the water pressure was so poor it felt like a sprinkle instead of a rain, the seating in the theater is not comfortable nor modern therfore was not used. All of the tvs/DVD players were way to small for the space and barely viewable due to the blurry picture. The main living areas were very clean but the closets had a thick layer of dust in places. There is an open wire in the media room just laying in the floor, and the jets in the tubs needs to be cleaned. Finally my dad would have liked to have had a kruig.

Check in was effortless and overall the cabin was very clean other than one pair of sheets having some hair (could’ve came from dryer so we didn’t make a big deal). The amenities were as expected with a nice theater room and pool table. The only issues we encountered was that the grills self igniter didn’t work so we had to use a lighter and we couldn’t get but one side of the jets on the hot tub to work. However the grill the was very clean and a nice thing to have and we still enjoyed the hot tub. There is a number to call for these things if they are an urgent matter that they can come fix but it wasn’t worth the hassle for our two nights. The beds are very firm mattresses which was not our preference but for a short stay was manageable but definitely would’ve hated it if we stayed longer. The beds also could use an additional blanket or heavier comforters. Downstairs stay very cold even we turned up the heat so plan ahead and bring extra warmer blankets especially if you’re a cold person. There was 3 fleece blankets in the cabin closets so we managed but wished we had more. Just a note that this would not be a cabin for someone who struggles to go up and down steps so make sure you read about the layout of the rooms and what levels they are on. This is our second stay at an Elk Springs Cabin and both times we’ve been happy and would stay again in the future.

Who comes to the mountains and doesn't stay in a cabin. I hadn't been to either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge before. It was much too commercialized for my liking, but most of the group loved the area. I just wanted to relax from my hectic job, so I spent most of my time in the cabin as it was beautiful, peaceful and comfortable. We had our reunion dinners and games there 4 out of the seven nights. It was big enough for people to visit without being on top of each other. The only issues we had were the grill and the door. The grill had not been cleaned, and the drip pan didn't stay in place. The electronic lock on the door broke twice. Maintenance came out quickly the first time. The other time was at departure, so I don't know the timeframe. If I ever were to go back to Gatlinburg, I would stay at Elks Springs for sure, although I would probably try another cabin because there are so many beautiful ones there.

Worst reception into a first time stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When I arrived at the cabin, it was clean, but I encountered a problem with not having a "starter kit," such as detergent. I informed the management via email, and they apologized and promised to deliver it, but it never arrived.In addition, the Wi-Fi was slow and unsecured, with the name of the cabin as the username and "elk resort" as the password. The lack of a password was a significant security concern, and I was told someone could come the next day to fix it, but since I was only staying for three days, this was not a satisfactory solution.If the staff had done a more thorough check of the cabin, including the guest's directions, these issues could have been avoided. Given the amount of money I paid and the poor experience, I have no intention of staying at the resort again or recommending it to others.

There were no window coverings on the second floor. 2- Add a couple hand holds for the shower/tub on the second and third levels. The tub was very high and for a shorter person very unsafe to step in.

Has potential!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin has great potential and location is great! It was spacious enough for 8 of our guests. However it was was very dirty, the floors were not clean there was dust ever and the worst was that the sheets were not changed, there was droll all over the pillow cases it was disgusting. I would definitely bring my own, the fans had so much dust on it you can see it so easily the floors were so dirty. I would rate my experience a 3/5 but I wouldn’t go back to this cabin.
