Gut: Sauberkeit, Check-in, Kommunikation und Lage
The villa is situated next to the ancient volcano of Mount Arena and as we are botanists we found it very interesting.The villa is an 'eco-house' which means that the hot water relies on sunshine. Unfortunately (and I think this is unusual) we had nine days of cold cloudy weather. This meant that the hot water was very erratic. I shaved in cold water evry morning and we didn't use the shower much because it was sometimes cold, sometimes warm. There is a gas cylinder heater which was useful in the evenings.It was too cold to use the pool but it was very clean.We cooked in every evening. One of the rings on the cooker doesn't work but the owner seems to be aware of this so I expect that will be fixed soon. There were very few pans for cooking but the owner kindly lent us a saucepan. As improvements I would suggest a couple more saucepans with lids and possibly a microwave. I thought the breakages deposit of about 500 was rather high, I could not see how you could do that much damage as all the furniture is pretty basic.If all that sounds a bit negative I should say that the owner was very helpful and easily contactable.
