Das Apartment mit zwei Schlafzimmern (134 m2) befindet sich in Funchal am Strand von Formosa und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Atlantik und direkten Zugang zum Strand. Das Apartmenthaus liegt direkt am Strand (Praia Formosa) in einem ruhigen 4-Sterne-Aparthotel (Pestana Ocean Gardens, Seite an Seite mit dem Pestana Bay Hotel) im Westen von Funchal.

Die Wohnung befindet sich im 1. Stock (2 Aufzüge stehen zur Verfügung), es ist eine geräumige Wohnung (150 m2) mit einer großen Terrasse mit zwei Sonnenliegen, Gartentisch und -stühlen und sogar einem Schaukelstuhl mit herrlichem Blick auf das Meer und Schwimmbad.

Wunderschöner Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang und den Strand vom großen Balkon. Mit dem Vorteil, dass Sie alles haben, was Sie für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt in Gehweite benötigen.

In unmittelbarer Nähe finden Sie lokale Restaurants und Cafés mit Esplanaden am Meer sowie Bäckereien, eine Bank, eine Apotheke und einen Großmarkt in 10 Minuten.

Um das milde Klima der Insel Madeira zu genießen, können Sie die Sonne und den Meerblick genießen, während Sie sich auf den großen Sonnenliegen am großen privaten Balkon entspannen oder im Pool oder im Meer schwimmen. Sehr geräumig, die Wohnung verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer und zwei Badezimmer (eines davon mit eigenem Bad).

In der Küche finden Sie die meisten Geräte, die Sie zu Hause finden würden, obwohl es in der Nähe viele schöne Cafés und Restaurants gibt, falls das Kochen nicht auf Ihrer Tagesordnung steht!

Die Abende auf der Terrasse sind sehr entspannend, speisen und beobachten den Sonnenuntergang. Von hier aus haben Sie einen spektakulären Blick auf das Meer, den Pool und die Gärten und den ganzen Nachmittag über sehr angenehmen Sonnenschein bis zum wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang direkt vor Ihnen.

Mit dem Vorteil, alles, was Sie brauchen, zu Fuß zu erreichen, haben Sie eine Bar und lokale Restaurants nur ein paar Minuten zu Fuß von der Wohnung entfernt. Sie können auch einen Pfad entlanggehen, der von Lido aus beginnt und zum Fischerdorf Câmara de Lobos führt. Hier finden Sie zahlreiche Bars und Restaurants mit Esplanaden am Meer.

Naturbecken (Doca do Cavacas), Steinstrand und schwarzer Sandstrand (Praia Formosa) sind nur wenige Gehminuten von der Wohnung entfernt.

Wonderful vacation in Madeira!

My family enjoyed a terrific vacation in Funchal, Madeira at this property. The apartment was large and clean, with all the amenities our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) needed. The location is incredible, with several modern grocery stores and many restaurants within walking distance. The view overlooking the pool and beach is fantastic. The walkway along the beach with access to beachfront restaurants was really nice. The 5 minute walk to the natural pools was really interesting as it goes through a tunnel through the island's lava rock. The property owner was very pleasant and provided easy communication to organize our trip and for any needs or questions we had. A wonderful vacation for our family and we hope to be able to return soon!

Very nice apartment at Praia Formosa on walking distance from center Funchal. A warm welcome from the nice owner, who gave us good advice for trips and (levada) walks. They were taking good care of us! We hope to visit them again.

Great Location

Just back from a great holiday. Niara couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful during the booking process and our stay. Apartment in great location with amazing views and sunsets. With lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We had the most brilliant day tour with Niara's husband Miguel in his amazing old jeep such a fun way to see the beautiful island of Maderia so pleased we booked before arriving. Hope to return again very soon.

Nice apartment but some shortcomings

We loved the large terrace. It was this that attracted us and the spacious layout of the apartment. The master suite was very good but the second bedroom and bathroom were not comfortable. The bathroom needs refurbishing while the bedroom has no natural daylight. Ok for small children potentially but not adults.

It was a pleasure have met you and your familly and welcomed you here! In fact this is a very spacious apartment and one of the few apartments in this building with the master bedroom facing the sea. Most of the apartments here have backside bedrooms only. Although the small bedroom is little bit more dark than the rest of the apartment, it has a window to the back of the building (with more light in the morning than in the afternoon because the sunset is on the other side of the apartment). You can see splendid sunsets from the balcony, living room and master bedroom with plenty of sunlight.

Excellent view and everything you need

We've really enjoyed our stay. Having come on holiday for some R & R, that's exactly what we've got! The apartment is lovely and spacious and we've spent many hours lazing around, on the many chairs, sofas and beds. We were treated to some unseasonably impressive waves yesterday (passing hurricane Ophelia) crashing on the cliffs. Niara, who looks after the guests, was very welcoming and more than helpful with suggestions for food, shopping and buses. We went on a fabulous Half day jeep tour with Miguel and had wished we had booked for the first day of our holiday, as he gave us a much better sense of Madeira and its possibilities. If you are going, please do book in advance with Niara. The walk to Camara Du Lobos is lovely and dinner at the blue and white restaurant ,5 mins along the prom in the other direction, was delicious.

First time visiting Madeira and we weren't disappointed its a beautiful lush island which can have all 4 seasons in one day! Apartment is located in a fantastic position right on the beach which the majority of accommodation in and around Funchal doesn't have as they are higher up on the cliffs. We took the aeroporto bus as the last stop is outside the apartment block very quick and easy and economical. Lots of things are within easy walk from the apartment, take the opportunity to walk to Camara de Lobas which is a lovely little fishing village. Nyara is really informative and on hand for any help and advice if needed. Apartment is big and clean and the balcony is massive and great place to relax. Pool area is a bit tired though as is the external elevations of the apartment block. All in all though a lovely relaxing holiday, thank you Nyara.

We simply loved it there!

We spent 3,5 weeks in Madeira and Niara’s apartment from couple days before Christmas to mid January. The weather was warm and sunny. There was some raining only during three days. The apartment is lovely! Large living room-dining room-kitchen combination. Big master bedroom with master bathroom and nearby second bathroom. It was handy that both of us had an own bathroom and there was enough hot water with high pressure. Second bedroom was nice place to keep our out-door staff. The kitchen was spacious and there were good basic equipment. We were happy to have a washing machine, an iron and a hair dryer. As Finns we appreciated also the warmth of the apartment even local winter time. The very best thing in the apartment was the sea view. From living room and master bed room there are large windows to balcony and to the sea. It’s only 20 meters to the sea and you can hear the waves and it’s wonderful. There are also palm trees, garden with blooming flowers, mountain view, pool and beach exit. Picture perfect holiday view  The balcony was our favorite place to be. There are a dining set, a hanging chair and two sun beds; very comfortable combination. There are also plants in the balcony, which made us feel cozy. During Christmas time Funchal is full of Christmas lights, Christmas flowers and nativity scenes. It’s absolutely beautiful. And the New Years fireworks are amazing. Internet connection was surprisingly fast and it was possible to work from the balcony. We had a car rented full time and from the apartment it is easy to drive to all directions. Parking place is next to the building. Our landlady Niara was lovely, friendly, helpful and quick in all things. It was easy and pleasant to deal with her. We warmly recommend this apartment and we’d love to come again!

Pleasant Stay

Communication with Nyara was complete and helpful. We looked forward to our stay anticipating comfort and convenience. We appreciated the arrangement to have a taxi meet us at the airport, (although when leaving we took the Aeroporto bus that stops at the property for half the cost). It was good to be welcomed in person and shown the apartment by Nyara’s representative. Overall, we had a good stay. Fun to watch ship traffic or enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Walking the promenade to Camara de Lobos was lovely. Previously we walked the promenade from the Lido only to discover we could not reach the hotel since a tunnel had been closed for due to weather damage. Made for a good extra 45-minute detour to get home. Would have been good to know in advance! Pleasing Aspects of the Apartment: Generally speaking, the apartment is certainly adequate if you are not looking for luxury. Great terrace + ocean view, master bedroom view, comfy bed, good storage. Spacious interior with reliable internet. Well equipped kitchen. Good towels provided. Pool facility, gardens, and sunning area very satisfactory. Things to Improve: Repair the washing machine to working order. Requested assistance but got no response from contact provided (Nyara was away). Replace cushions on the couch - not at all comfortable as is, especially for older visitors. Replace sun umbrella stand- worn out, doesn't support umbrella. Maybe a power bar would help in the kitchen. The single electric outlet made for awkward preparation - had to keep changing the connections. Second bedroom is dark and unappealing. Window has a dark lattice covering and overlooks the hallway- no light. Location Notes: As described, this apt is located at the western edge of Funchal – 20 minutes away from downtown. Very quiet. No immediate diversions to speak of. Be aware that to get to the great conveniences mentioned on the website – banking, grocery etc.- you must climb a height of about 80 m via stairs to the main thoroughfare above the apt/hotel, or taking longer, walk the roadway up. There is also a #43 bus that can be used to get to the top. If you are fit and have no limited mobility issues this is not a problem. Once up on the Estrada Monumental there are busses that go right downtown, very helpful and convenient.

Dear PH, I regreat you did not enjoyed your stay as much as you were expecting. It was a pity that the tunnel was closed when you tried to use it during your stay, because normally it is open but in case of bad weather and big waves they close it for security reasons without previous notice. The advantage of this apartment is beeing right on the beach so, as Madeira island is very hilly, you need to climb to go everywhere starting from the level of the sea. Having a car is recommended if you want to have more mobility. Regarding to the transfer from the airport, I always recommend my guests to choose the best option for them: Aerobus, rented car or taxi transfer (with a very special price I can get for my guests: EUR 20 for 2 people for waiting for you in the airport and bring you directly to the apartment - the normal price is around EUR 48). The Aerobus is a excelent option too (EUR 5 per person), as in fact the last stop is in front of the apartment complex, for the ones who bring few luggage and don't mind to wait for the bus according to its schedule (there is one bus per hour, more or less). Regarding to the apartment itself, in fact it is one of the spacious apartments in this building and one of the few with a master bedroom facing the sea (the majority of the apartments in this building has the backside bedroom only with a window to the back of the building). It was a pity you got no contact by phone with my representative when you need assistance regarding to the washing machine but you could always contact me by email, as I'm always available even when I'm out. I really hope you can come back again someday in the future. You will be always welcome here!

Sommer im Oktober

Schöne Wohnung mit grossem Balkon und super Aussicht inkl. tropischem Sunset - Feeling. Check-in und Betreuung sehr nett und engagiert, viele hilfreiche und zeitgerechte Infos. Schwimmen im Meer ist auch für Geübte eine Herausforderung, kräftige Brandung auf Steinen und Kiesel. Leider waren beide Strandwege nach Osten und Westen gesperrt, was den Reiz hier ausmachen würde. So brauchte man ein Taxi um rauszukommen. Das Apartmenthaus wird sehr gut unterhalten, aber sobald man die Anlage verlässt, wird es eher desolat und ungepflegt. Offenbar warten alle auf das vom Taxifahrer prophezeite Investment von CR7 an der Praia Formosa..., dann werden wir wieder kommen. Denn das Klima hier ist unschlagbar und die Insel sensationell!

Thank you for your feedback! It was a pleasure have had you and your familly as my guests! In fact this is an unique area of the island, not only much more sunny and warm, but also with the bigger beach with nice restaurants and coffe shops with esplanades by the sea. There is a big project to renovate all the area but the covid times delayed it a little bit more. It was a pity during your stay part of the walking path was closed due to some big waves and some rock fall that happened just two days before your arrival (I believe they will reopen it soon) but normally people can walk all the area by the sea until the next fishermen village Câmara de Lobos. The good thing of Madeira island is the few instable days don’t last long. I hope you can come back in the future!

Rundum perfekter Aufenthalt

Dass wir überhaupt auf Madeira gelandet sind, haben wir tatsächlich nur Corona zu verdanken. Insofern, war es auch ein glücklicher Zufall dieses tolle Apartement entdeckt zu haben. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin Nyara im Vorfeld war sehr gut. Sie hatte viele Informationen für uns war total lieb und sehr bemüht. Da wir uns nach der Landung zunächst 12 Stunden in Quarantäne begeben mussten, organisierte sie uns einen Snack fürs Abendbrot und etwas zum Trinken. Das Apartment war für unsere Ansprüche ausreichend ausgestattet, sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Aussicht auf dem Balkon ist wunderschön - zu jeder Tageszeit. Der Poolbereich ist ebenfalls gepflegt, so gut wie jeden Tag haben wir Personal gesehen, dass sich um die Blumen und die Reinigung des Pools kümmerte. Und es war nie viel los am Pool, wir haben auch häufig alleine dort gelegen. Die Lage vom Apartment war für uns einfach perfekt. Ging man vom Hotel aus rechts entlang war man schnell auf der Promenade Richtung Câmara de Lobos. Dort gibt es einige Restaurants/Bars. In die andere Richtung geht es durch den Tunnel zum Restaurant Doca dos Cavados und nach ein paar Stufen gelangt man zu einem kleinen Supermarkt. Geht man dort weiter an der Promenade erreicht man weiter Restaurants/Wassersport und das Bad Lido. Wir haben in dem Urlaub schon einige Meter zurückgelegt, aber es hat uns überhaupt nicht gestört. Weiterhin kann man eine kleine Abkürzung zur Hauptstraße nehmen, dort gibt es eine kleine Fruttaria und einen Bäcker. Läuft man die Straße weiter gelangt man zum Forum Madeira. Dort gibt es einen größeren Supermarkt. Auch die Fahrt mit dem Bus bis in die Altstadt von Funchal geht sehr schnell und ist super unkompliziert. Alles in einem hat es uns super gefallen, das Apartment ist super, Madeira ist wunderschön und bietet zahlreiche Aktivitäten. Empfehlen können wir Kayak fahren, die Altstadt Funchal, Canyoning, Schnorcheln mit Delfinen über Lobosonda, ein Auto mieten und Richtung Westen und Norden fahren und so viele Aussichtspunkte wie möglich finden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in schöner Ferienwohnung

Wir haben eine Woche in diesem Apartment verbracht und die Zeit sehr genossen. Es ist genau das richtige Apartment, um abends nach den Ausflügen entspannt mit dem Blick aufs Meer den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Das Apartment ist groß, so das es wirklich ausreichend Platz gibt, es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht als Selbstversorger. Darüber hinaus gibt einem Nyara, die sich liebevoll um die Gäste kümmert, Tipps für sehr gute Restaurants, in denen man das beste Essen genießt und für Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie Sightseeing. Die Lage ist super: Links kann man Richtung Funchal über die Promenade entlanglaufen und rechts in ein kleines, absolut sehenswertes Fischerdorf. Ein riesiger Vorteil für uns war noch, dass man die Anbindung an das Hotel hatte, so konnten wir den Service der Rezeption für Taxi, Fragen,... nutzen. Das macht das Leben echt komfortabel! Zu guter Letzt möchte ich noch über Nyara ein Wort verlieren: Sie kümmert sich um alle Belange der Wohnung ist die ganze Zeit über unser Ansprechpartner gewesen. Diese wirklich liebevolle Art haben wir selten bei Ferienwohnungen erlebt. Sie hat die besten Tipps auf Lager und rückt damit freiwillig raus. So haben wir neben den Restaurants- und Sehenswürdigkeiten- Tipps auch die angebotene Jeep-Tour mit ihren Mann Miguel ausprobiert. Und auch hier gibt es von uns eine 100%ige Empfehlung. Miguel arbeitet als einzelner, selbstständiger Jeep-Guide und ist echt einzigartig. Personalisiert schneidet er die Touren zu. Wer skeptisch sein sollte, weil die beiden verheiratet sind, sollte diese Sorge an die Seite schieben und die Tour buchen. Es ist ein toller Weg, Madeira zu erkunden. Also von uns gibt es eine klare Empfehlung den Urlaub dort zu verbringen. Nur bitte nicht, wenn wir wieder hinfahren.

Wohnung ist wie in der Anzeige beschrieben, Fotos stimmen auch

Wir waren über Neujahr in dieser schönen, großen Wohnung in sehr ruhiger Lage und konnten vom riesigen Balkon jederzeit ungestört den Atlantik sehen und den Wellen lauschen. Als großer schwerer Mann hatte ich bei anderen FeWos schon mal Schwierigkeiten mit der Matratze, hier schlief ich gut. Leider gibt es keinen direkten Strandzugang und die Stadtbuslinien 1 und 2 fahren zwar nicht weit von hier, aber für eine unserer Töchter war der Weg rauf zu steil, insgesamt waren wir dann doch froh, einen Mietwagen zu haben, für den es übrigens immer einen Parkplatz gab. Die Wohnung und die Apartmentanlage sind nicht mehr ganz neu, was man an der einen oder anderen Stelle auch sieht, aber die Bilder und die Beschreibung hier im Internet stimmen alle, ebenso die Ausstattungsmerkmale (z.B. funktionierende Waschmaschine, prima WLAN...). Für eine Familie würde ich das jederzeit empfehlen, ich wüsste aber nicht, wie das mit 4 Erwachsenen wäre. Das kleinere der Schlafzimmer hat nämlich kein echtes Außenfenster, sondern das Fenster geht in eine Art Speicher vor der eigentlichen Wohnung. Unsere Mädels hat es nicht gestört, zumal es insgesamt in der Wohnung keinen Platzmangel gibt. Schließlich ist noch zu erwähnen, dass die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin Niara jederzeit angenehm und unkompliziert war (da wir kein Portugiesisch können, ging da auf Englisch), sie hatte bei Anreise schon mit Wein und Schokolade auf uns gewartet und uns viele Tipps gegeben. Insgesamt ist diese Wohnung eine Empfehlung

The apartment is situated at the level of the sea, and Madeira island is very hilly, so this is the reason you need to climb to catch the upper main road where all the buses run. The complex usually has direct access to the beach from the pool but, because we had a storm that destroyed the path in front, few weeks ago, the access was temporaly closed for security reasons. But they will fix it. This apartment is in fact much bigger than others in the same complex, and it has the master bedroom with a great seaview (most of the apartments in this complex only have rooms leading to the back hall) and a big balcony with plenty of space. I’m happy you have enjoyed your holidays and you will always welcome here!

Wonderful

Situated right on Praia Formosa beach. Apartment was spacious with huge balcony which got afternoon sun. It was lovely to sit and listen to the waves crashing onto the beach. Bed was very comfortable with all the pillows blankets and sheets you possibly need. There was cupboard full of board games Kitchen had everything we needed to cook whenever we wanted. On arrival Nyara gave us a good explanation on how everything worked and all the manuals were available if needed. The pool was lovely if a little chilly at the end of March but didnt stop the wife swimming most days. All in all a lovely apartment ideal for our needs and I would definitely consider going back. We tried "The restaurant by the sea " just outside the complex which Nyara had recommended.Lovely fish meal but didnt go back as we felt we were being rushed so they could close. We walked several times along the coastal path to Camara do Lobos but couldnt walk the either way to Funchal as the tunnel was closed. So,to walk into Funchal it was necessary to climb a steep set of steps (120 the wife said )to the main road where one walk to Funchal in a little over an hour or you can catch the number 1 bus from the top of the steps .There is an alternative to the steps along the road but you're walking in the wrong direction so that is even longer

Super séjour

Appartement superbe, une vue imprenable sur la mer avec le bruit des vagues, terrasse très bien amenagee. Un petit bémol toutefois, il est dommage que le bar piscine diffuse de la musique dès 10h du matin et cela jusqu'au soir, cela gâche un peu la quiétude de l endroit. L île est magnifique, paysages très diversifiés et grandioses, plein de visites, randos etc... Nyara est très accueillante, pleines de bons conseils.Tres agréable séjour.

Très belle vue sur la mer

L'appartement est très bien situé par rapport à l'océan. Un grand balcon avec vue sur la mer et soleil l'après-midi. A la mi-Mars la température était de 19 à 23 degré pendant notre séjour. On entend bien le bruit des vagues la nuit mais on entend également le "Club de vacances Héliades" (vacances organisées) toutes les fins d'après-midi et en soirée au rez-de-chaussée (attention à ceux qui recherche le calme). Sinon l'appartement est bien équipé et bien situé. Nous avons profité pleinement de nos vacances avec les conseils judicieux de Julio le papa de Nyara........ Randonnées, visites de musées, découverte de Funchal et de l’ile, au programme… Et plein de couleur avec une végétation très variée. Les habitants de l’île sont charmants. Patrick J

Tolles Appartment mit unglaublichen Meerblick

Zu Beginn unseres zweiwöchigen Sommerurlaubes wurden wie sehr freundlich von unserer Vermieterin Niara begrüsst und durch das Appartment geführt. Zudem bekamen wir ausführliche Insidertipps für Unternehmungen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in der Nähe. Das gut ausgestattete Appartment war sehr sauber und ließ bis auf eine Spülmaschine keine Wünsche offen. Absolutes Highlight sind der große Balkon mit fantastischem Meerblick und das Schlafzimmer mit direktem Balkonzugang. Auch die gepflegte Poolanlage mit kostenlosen Sonnenliegen, der schöne Garten und der direkte Zugang zum Meer runden die Wohnanlage ab. Der Ort Sao Martinho liegt sehr zentral und eignet sich super als Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung der Insel. Fußläufig erreicht man nette Restaurants und Bars mit sehr guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und ein Einkaufszentrum mit Supermarkt und guten Parkgelegenheiten ist in kurzer Zeit erreichbar. Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis war die Jeeptour mit Miguel, die uns über Niara empfohlen und vermittelt wurde. Mit dem offenen Militär-Jeep hat uns Miguel an eindrucksvolle Orte abseits der üblichen Touristenziele geführt. Obwohl wir die Insel mit dem Mietwagen auf eigene Faust erkundet hatten, ist eine Tour mit Miguel absolut empfehlenswert. Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Urlaub in dem man sich herzlich aufgenommen fühlte. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen und haben die Wohnung auch Family & Friends empfohlen.

Superbe vue pour un appartement au plus proche de la plage

Vaste appartement avec grand balcon et une vue imprenable sur l’océan . Nous avons passé deux semaines superbes bercés par le bruit des vagues la nuit ce que nous avons adoré . La plage aussi proche est très rare à madère pour un appartement. Petite baignade dès le lever avec une eau à 23 degrés à peu près et baignade à la piscine pour les enfants avec une eau dans l’après-midi à 30 degrés ! Niara dès notre arrivée nous a donnés un tas de supers informations sur toute l’île le tout en français ce qui est appréciable . Elle a toujours été présente tout le long du séjour aux petits soins avec nous .nous avons fait aussi un demie journée avec Miguel son mari en jeep dans l’est de l’île hors des sentiers touristiques avec la traversée de maisons isolées d’un calme très appréciable. Superbe ballade avec beaucoup d’info par Miguel qui adore faire partager son amour pour l’ile. A faire ! ça donne vraiment un vrai aperçu de la vie authentique à madère . Que dire d’autre ? Nous adorons madère avec sa multitude de végétation étonnante et ses paysages à couper le souffle . Nous avons fait aussi deux ballades une fois en voilier et une fois en speedboat à la rencontre des cétacés. Les deux sont bien mais le speedboat nous permet de voir plus près les dauphins et baleines et d’avoir l’assira ce de les voir . Nous recommandons govaio pour le voilier et oceansee (petite compagnie avec juste 8 à 10 personnes qui parle très Bien français et anglais ). Voilà madère est à découvrir c’est un bijou de la nature pour ceux qui l’aime . Merci à Niara et Miguel

The best of everything! A get away from it all beachside apartment with Funchal on the side!

We had an amazing holiday, due mainly to the property and it's location. The owner Niara has arranged everything so thoughtfully-the accommodation is perfect, from all the kitchen essentials and more,to the comfortable living space and the spacious balcony taking in the incredible views.The private apartment is in an aparthotel,with a swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers-not crowded,very clean,a lovely space.There is a gate down onto the gently shelving beach Praia Formosa,a mix of black sand and large pebbles and has to be one of the cleanest beaches I've come across!There are cafes/restaurants along the beach to the right-the promenade is rocky to begin with-and also through the tunnel (more like a grotto, a little wet but clean and it closes around 11pm) where the promenade is more extensive and makes for a pretty evening walk too.The lido, doca do cavacas, is brilliant,excellent value for money (2€ each!) and has the loveliest of seawater pools. For shops,there is a bakery and greengrocers up on the road (out of the hotel entrance, past the bar,up the steps to the right and across the road-about 8mins walk) The large Pingo Doce supermarket is in the excellent Forum shopping centre, about 15-20 minutes walk but taxis are easily available.There is a regular bus service, the easiest being the No.2 which takes you right through the centre (bus stop 5mins through the tunnel,up the steps and on the right- €1.95 a trip or buy giro card €0.50 from tobacconists/pay shop and top up at €1.35 a trip) and brings you back either near the tunnel or further along up the road. How to spend your days..we walked to the centre for sightseeing (took about 80mins) but also took the bus to get to the Painted Doors in Zona Velha; cable car up to Monte,tropical gardens and toboggan down; walk to Camara dos Lobos (40 mins along the beach, but you can get a bus) then a tour bus up to Cabo Girao for the skywalk; and the absolute best...a jeep tour with Miguel!! Amazing day out-arrange through Niara once you book the accommodation- that avoids the crowds but still finds the best views and the most authentic of experiences (Facebook-Miguel Laginha,Funchal). We could have done much more,walks and tours, but the opportunity to just sit on the beach or swim in the pool and sea and just chill was too much to ignore!! Best nearby restaurants-The Beer Garden and Espettus.Thoroughly recommend this holiday,thank you Niara and Miguel-we love Madeira❤️

A lovely large apartment in a lovely location

We had a lovely stay in this large and well-kept apartment. We enjoyed the pool and the beach as well as many local restaurants. The owners were welcoming and recommended lots of activities and restaurants. We stayed with a large group of friends and were all accommodated within the same block in apartments from the same owner, and we all had an excellent time. I would highly recommend

Nydelig, stor terrasse med utsikt over havet! Pen, ren og godt utstyrt leilighet

Vi var to par som bodde i leiligheta ei uke. Vi ble veldig godt mottatt av Niara og hadde en fantastisk jeeptur som mannen hennes, Miguel arrangerte for oss. De gav oss mange gode tips om levadavandringer og restauranter vi besøkte.Dette gjorde oppholdet vårt ekstra trivelig! Leiligheta ligger ved Formosa stranda litt utenfor Funchal, så man må ta buss eller taxi til byen.Gangavstand til shopping senter. Flere gode restauranter i nærheten, men det er mye bakker og trapper i området, så man må være god til beins. Anbefaler både leiligheta og vakre Madeira!

Lovely apartment by the sea.

This was our second time in this area and we just love the location, in easy reach of Funchal but peaceful and away from it all . The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The star has to be the wonderful balcony, double sized and facing right on to the sea with beautiful views of the Cabo Girao. Go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. Niara was a fantastic host and gave us a very warm welcome . She was always on hand if needed and very helpful with lots of knowledge about Funchal and Madeira. I definitely hope to back.
