Outstanding Condo

We enjoyed our month’s stay at this property. All staff were exceptional and we really appreciated the attention to detail. The pool was as advertised as one of the best in Hawaii. We definitely will be considering a vacation here in the future.

Very good environment but poor management

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was staying there for 2 months. The house is clean with good amenities. We feel comfortable for these 2 months. However, the washing machine in the unit keeps broken(leaking and cannot switch on)The management asked the plumber coming into the unit without notice for 2 times! I tried to complain about coming in the unit without notice. At the final week that I stayed, the washing machine is totally broken. (Not switch on) I tried to call the management and make appointment. They agreed to come but finally now show up. I feel very disappoint about their service. I definitely not choose this agent again when I go back to Honolulu.

Not what we expected.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are originally from HI so we were excited to stay at Waikiki Landmark. This was our 2nd time using Ali'i Beach rentals. Our 1st time w/them, we stayed at was Hawaiki Tower(no longer avail) which was very clean & problem free. This time with Waikiki Landmark, problems from the beginning. We spent almost 30mins trying to find/retrieve our condo keys. I had to call/left msg couple times to the property manager to get some clarifications. The check-in form they emailed was not accurate since the WIFI password was different. So, when I texted(w/pic of ck-in email) the property management at 9:51PM, he texted me at 6AM next day saying not to contact him at 10PM. So apparently, you can't contact them after hours since they're closed at 3PM. In the unit, most of their outlets were damaged or not working. I don't know why they charged hundreds of dollars on cleaning fees when they clearly hasn't cleaned thoroughly. The beddings, rugs, countertops, tables were all dusty/dirty, so we had to spend our 1st day doing the laundry, vacuuming, and sanitizing everywhere. We had the maintenance guy come by couple times to fix the outlets, batteries, and the shower door. The only thing I will miss about this place is the pool. Although, since Covid restrictions, we couldn't have our friends in the pool which was a big bummer since we have a lot friends. I can see why the pool/lobby area is always empty. Overall, will not use this company again. We're much happier staying at Prince Waikiki hotel since it's very clean w/excellent customer service.

Great view, convenient location, spacious property!

We stayed here for 30 days. The property is clean, spacious, and has almost everything we need to do simple cooking! Besides, it is conveniently located between Waikiki and Ala Moana. Everything is within a short walk. The Waikiki landmark building also has very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend this rental to anyone, especially families with kids/babies!

We here at Aliʻi Beach Rentals are grateful to have owners as we do here at the Landmark condo. We will let their response speak for itself: As owners of this unit, we pay attention to the comments of our guests. We strive to make improvements on our own initiative, as well as to the comments of our guests. However, it is difficult to counter comments which appear to be malicious rather than objective. To wit, the guest claims the unit was very dirty, rugs were filthy and furniture needed cleaning. But In fact, during the week just prior to this guest's February 2020 stay, the unit's owners personally oversaw professional cleaners (Ohana Extraction) deep steam/extraction clean and sanitize all the living room furniture (sofa, side chairs), all bed mattresses, and all rugs. After this service, the furniture, rugs, mattresses were clean and spotless. Cleaning and sanitizing also included the clothes washer and dryer, the dish washer, the Jacuzzi jets, and the disposal. This can be attested to by Alii Beach Rentals who followed up with their own professional cleaning service, and the unit is inspected prior to each guests' arrival. Unfortunately we cannot help those guests who do not look where they are walking, short of installing rubber furniture. Nor can we control the weather. Management of the Waikiki Landmark building maintains high standards for the building and premises. So it was that repainting of all exterior balconies that was scheduled during the time of our guests' stay. Since the painting requires working from suspended scaffolds up to 34 floors above the street, painting cannot be done during rain or high winds. Due to both rain and wind (and Hawaii's frequent winter rain showers) it took the painters a longer time to do all of the units. We are sorry this happened during the time of the guest stay. Thank you for staying with Aliʻi Beach Rentals, and we look forward to serving you again in the future!

Convenient, clean and just pleasant stay

The property was exactly as described. Professionally cleaned and managed. When a smoke detector started beeping because of low battery, the maintenance staff showed up within minutes to replace it. The location is superb, close to Ala Moana and Waikiki. Would love to return some day.

Comfortable for a family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed at the Waikiki Landmark for 31 days in July 2018. Though I was participating in a workshop most of the time, the rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed the unit which was within walking distance to Waikiki beach and many amenities. The pool deck options - there's 5 of them! - were especially appreciated, with a "keiki" (child) hot tub and 2ft + 4ft options for those who couldn't swim yet, in addition to a large adult pool and hot tub. Great stay overall! My only slight negative note was that the dryer had some technical difficulties and we had to vacuum out the filter to get it working upon first use.

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The apartment was not as expected. Master bedroom had a strong mildew smell. Guest room AC was not cool enough. It took 3 days to have someone check on the fire alarm in the unit.

We tried to advise and walk the guest through these issues while she stayed, we tried our best. Upon further inspection, no mold or odor was smelled, but we treated the master bedroom after departure. The south side of the building is the warmest, so we recommend the blackout drapes be closed during peak sunshine, this will help cool the room. After our guest agreed to change the battery in the smoke alarm over the weekend, it was not changed, and we came out Monday to help when she called. We are here to help all our wonderful guest.

The property management representative was waiting for us at the condo when we arrived and she helped us find our parking spot, and helped us with our luggage and paperwork making arrival a no stress process. The condo was clean and comfortable with a great view. It came with a DVR which I did not remember as being listed but was a nice surprise. Before arriving, I was concerned about the elevator taking a long time to go up and down 23 floors, but it was very fast and a non-issue. Every thing in the condo worked and we had no issues while we were there. The people who worked at the Landmark building were friendly and helpful, and security was excellent. I cannot think of any complaints to make.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: High-end property clean and well equipped overall. Comfortable for two couples (2 queens and 2 private baths, large bedroom closets). Second bedroom is tight with only the bed and 2 side tables, but has its own door to lanai. Convenient location to access Waikiki by foot or use nearby bus stops. Choice of convenience stores handy for groceries. Several mirrored walls, so unit is not as spacious as photos suggest but certainly fine for entertaining a small group of 6-8. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable for one person at a time. Small lanai (seats 4 with small side table) off dining room with mauka view toward Ala Wai and McCully. Second lanai is just a walkway off MBR and living room, with no room for any chair. Beautiful large pool/cabana floor, accessible by going down to first floor, then taking separate elevator. Note that emergency vehicles come down McCully regularly, so sirens can be noisy throughout the day and night, particularly if you want to turn off AC and keep lanai doors open. Parking spaces assigned to this unit are high in the garage, so it takes time to enter and exit garage. Ask rental agent to walk you through access to pool and garage, as they can be confusing. Note front entry and garage are at the corner of Ala Wai and McCully. More convenient walking access in and out a side door to Kalakaua by tenants with a key fob.

The apartment is gorgeous - it has amazing views, was brilliantly clean, and had all the amenities one could wish for. Also, Ali'i Beach Rentals was always responsive, kind, and helpful in the rare instance that we needed to reach out. We have and will continue to recommend Ali'i Beach Rentals and the Waikiki Landmark. We'll definitely be back!

Great views outside, not so clean inside

***** for the views, parking, and spacious layout * for the other stuff mentioned herein We loved the view, convenience, parking, and spacious layout. We did NOT like the hair and food bits in the fridge, the mold in the master shower, the moldy smell and goo in the rubber ring of the front loading washer, and the old faux leather dining chairs that sank when we sat in them, then frayed and flaked off in bits when we got up. We were constantly sweeping/vacuuming up the bits from the chairs. If VRBO allowed posting of pictures, I would post photos of the black grout lines in the shower, and the moldy goo that we wiped from the rubber ring in the washer, and the sad old chairs. A chest of drawers (or two) would have been useful and appreciated. There were hanging nooks in the closets, and smelly old particle board cabinets in front of the toilets--where we definitely didn't want to store our clothes. We asked the rental agency multiple times to take care of the shower, and I even spoke to the maintenance staff who said he would come. He never came to the unit during our month-long stay. We gave up asking. The agent who checked us in was responsive. The maintenance staff was not responsive. This rental is not equipped as a luxury condo. There's definitely room for improvement.

We would first like to start off by saying, that we will get better because of your review and hope the next time you are out we can show you how we have improved and a more "typical" Aliʻi Beach Rentals experience in this or one of our many properties. The owners of the unit were shocked to find that the chairs deteriorated as soon as they did. After they did some research, they found that their is a lass action case against Ashley Home furniture: The complaint alleges that Ashley Furniture sells “DuraBlend” furniture without disclosing that it is not made of actual leather. In addition, the class action claims that the DuraBlend faux leather coating does not stand up to normal wear and tear, and instead easily peels off, revealing a rough, off-white layer underneath. The chairs have since been replaced, and not purchased from Ashleyʻs. Our maintenance dropped the ball when they did not show up after saying that they would, and the cleaning company has been notified about their miscues as well. Our own property inspections have been increased to eliminate these issues for our future guest. The Landmark is a luxurious and "iconic" building in Waikiki. Especially with the new pool deck and a incoming fitness center. As the management company for 2 units here, we will step up and maintain our units to the standards of the building. Bad very bad experience

Reviewer Comments: First off the place is wonderful a place to get away from all the problems in my world. However the security treated us as if we invading there home, it's their job work place not their home that's how I felt. Second we were illegally evicted from the rental until ). When they turned off our fobs so we had no access to our room plus told us we had one hour to be out, legally it supposed have been 10 days I'm thinking of a law suit thanks

Potential future guest, please understand that the building management banned this guest from the building because of alleged illegal prostitution and narcotics. The police were called multiple times on these guests. This rental party was also smoking in the unit. It is against our company rental agreement to smoke in our units. This is grounds for immediate eviction under our rental contract. In our years of property management, we have never dealt with this kind of situation from a tenant, we have learned a lot, and we are doing our best to make sure a character like this never stays in one of our units again.

No turkey No light.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 30 days. Overall the condo was nice and clean, with a good floor plan. Security was very tight. All the staff we met were nice and polite. The pool and hot tub were awesome. We felt the price was reasonable. We understand that things may go wrong during our stay. However we felt the lack of completion to our issues was not acceptable. We rented a condo so we could cook/bake our own food. Most of the meals we prepare are cooked in the oven. The oven would not stay on. This was very inconvenient. We were very frustrated that our friends had to deal with a bathroom light fixture that did not work properly. We feel these were minor repairs and should have been resolved swiftly. The light in the 2nd bathroom flickered constantly and then finally did not work at all. The oven would automatically shut-off after it reached 100 degrees. We called maintenance to fix both problems. Maintenance arrived at the scheduled time, but had to leave to get a replacement bulb for the bathroom light. He returned 5 hours later to replace the bulb. When he left we were under the impression that the light was fixed. It was not fixed. The light still flickered. We felt the maintenance man should have known that the ballast needed to be replaced, not the light bulb. We were told the oven may be under warranty and would have to be brought up at a weekly meeting. Maintenance was told we needed the oven for Thanksgiving dinner. We never heard another word on the oven and when we called again they said the maintenance person would come back and he never did.

The owners of the unit, and us as a company, are very sorry for the issue with the oven. The unit was under a cumbersome "warranty" plan that came with the unit when purchased. It really was not helpful, tied our hands finding a replacement, and it has since been dropped because of these types of issues. The oven is being replaced in January 1/4/16. No excuses here, we will be in contact with you very soon to apologize personally.
