Erstklassiges Ferienhaus für mehrere Familien oder Generationen. Es bietet 1 Schlafzimmer und 1 Badezimmer auf der unteren Ebene, 1 Schlafzimmer und 1 Badezimmer auf der Hauptebene sowie 2 Schlafzimmer und 1 Badezimmer auf der oberen Ebene. Die untere Ebene bietet auch ein Familienzimmer mit einem gemauerten Kamin und einem Kickertisch sowie ein Zimmer mit einem Innenwhirlpool. Der Whirlpool ist ganzjährig geöffnet. Die Hauptebene verfügt über ein großes Wohnzimmer mit einem großen Steinkamin, den angrenzenden Essbereich und eine offene Küche, hohe Decken und Terrassentüren, die auf das Deck mit einem Grill führen. Die obere Ebene bietet auch eine Leseecke. WIFI ist in der gesamten Unterkunft verfügbar. Auf der rechten Seite des Eingangsdecks befindet sich eine Holzüberdachung. A Summer Treehouse

Our family had a lovely 4-day stay at Top Notch for an extended family reunion and 4th of July celebration in Bessemer. We all loved the property, the house layout, the surrounding balcony, the privacy, and the trees! It was updated, everything was clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with anything we may have forgotten from home. We would definitely stay there again!

Best Ski Chalet at Powderhorn

Great house with everything you need. Very comfortable and well appointed and equipped. Beautiful deep woods location, animals and birds. Super kitchen. Brand new hot tub, new laundry set, nice TVs, good entertainment options. New air conditioning. Private ski trail.

Family gathering

Came for March skiing and to celebrate several family birthdays. Unfortunately the snow did not cooperate this year. No skiing, major bummer, BUT, the property “Top Notch” lived up to its name. Super clean totally comfortable for our whole family (3 adult kids) very spacious, plenty of room to spread out and still sit around the fire and watch a movie or play a game,hot tub was awesome views were awesome. Top Notch!

Great Winter Getaway!

The location was perfect, the home is beautiful with everything you would need in the kitchen including spices, oil, paper goods, etc. The fireplaces are cozy and the hot tub was the perfect way to finish off the day after skiing and hiking. Easy to book, clear instructions to check in and out and very clean and ready for us when we arrived. Would definitely recommend. Many things to do other than skiing down the slopes only a few yards away, like cross country skiing, hiking, waterfalls, etc.

Needs some attention.

Cob webs everywhere. Two wood burning fireplaces with lighters and matches, but no wood. Ski access requires short hike or sidestep in both directions. Access to lifts 8 & 9. Check Powderhorn web site before skiing down. Some days both lifts are closed. Well stocked with household items and spices. Ample parking for several vehicles. New hot tub in 2023, according to sign. Easy check in snd out.

Cabin Retreat on Ski Run

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice getaway up in Bessemer, MI during Covid pandemic. It was warm and when we arrived the baseboard heating units were on in rental which was frustrating. After trying to cool the unit down we checked out our surroundings which were lovely - could walk to ski run with our dog. He loved the open space and we loved the views. Saw may birds and a few deer. The rental itself provided tons of space for our family of 4. Comfortable bedding, plenty of linens, fully stocked kitchen. The foosball table was the highlight for the kids and the deck overlooking the woods the highlight for the adults.The rental was close enough to Ironwood to enjoy the offerings of a town but also close enough to Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains to get in some nature adventures. Tons of waterfall hikes led to 20 miles of hiking in 4 days. Overall a nice getaway. Would be great spot in the winter if the lift at the bottom of the slope was operating!

Had a lovely getaway

The kitchen had everything we needed, although we brought everything with us in case it didn’t (and now it has a griddle, too! We left ours there by accident!) it was extremely cold during our stay, but we figured out how to coax more heat from the fireplace, so we were warm. The very large indoor hot tub was a huge hit. The water had a very strong odor, but none of us got sick and the hot water was lovely. The path to the ski hill was longer than we thought it would be and once you get to the slope, there is no flat spot or place to sit or even stand to get your skis on in order to ski down. So we just drove a couple of minutes to the resort in order to ski.) We watched movies that we had brought, ate dinners we had pre made (COVID.) The lady at the lodging area was nice enough and we were able to get our questions answered. Being away from other cabins made for a safe (COVID) and pleasant stay.

Not for Families with Young Children

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While this rental has many excellent features, we experienced a few issues that other potential renters should know about. First, this property is not suitable for families with young children. This is because the staircases are built in a manner (probably not code-compliant) that could result in small children being seriously injured. There are no "risers" on many of the stairs, and the balusters on the railings of the staircases and upper balcony are spaced very widely apart. This results in a situation whereby youngsters could easily suffer a very dangerous fall. Also, this property is really not "ski-in/ski-out", since the nearby lifts do not operate much of the ski season. You will need to drive to the central parking lots near the main lodge. Finally, the indoor hot tub trips a circuit breaker, and then cools down quickly. We could only use the tub on the first day of our 4-day trip, because we did not realize right away that the circuit breaker had tripped, and this hot tub takes forever to heat back up to a usable temperature.

We understand the frustration of the ski lifts not being open next to the home but unfortunately we do not have a say on when or if the lifts will be open as it is up to Big Powderhorn Mountain. For future reference, we have an on call maintenance team that would have been more than happy to come and fix the issues with the hot tub so you were able to enjoy it. We do understand the issues with the stairwell and will pass those notes along to the homeowner. We hope you were still able to enjoy your stay and all the activities this area offers!

The only draw back was the banister for the stairs. There are large spaces that even an adult could fit through. We had a four year, so had to watch him carefully.We really enjoyed sleding in the back. Rented snowmobiles which was kind of a far drive, but everyone had a good time. The firewood was stocked which was great as we used it continuously. We had some problems getting the house warm enough so it was great to have the fireplace. HOt tub was nice to have, but had a super strong chlorine smell. The trash bin outside was full so we were unable to take the trash outside.These are minor things. Overall, the place was clean and perfect for our party. I have stayed in other places and it took me a while to realize that all the places in the upper peninsuala have older and somewhat worn furniture and furnishings. It's part of the ambience. Enjoy top Notch. We did!

Stocked well to meet all our needs. Spiders in basement tub and sink. Spider in upstairs sink- don’t care for Garage location- detracts. And when we arrived lots of inside mosquitoes— not sure how they got in!!

Summer Vacationers - No Air Conditioning

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check in and check out were easy and the house was in a good location for lots of outdoor summer activities. The layout of the house was great for groups or families, but the house is a bit dated/run down. Our biggest issue was the heat. The house has no air conditioning. Fans were provided, but no amount of fans or open windows could cool down the house. The last night, our whole family ended up sleeping in the basement (some on couches) just so we could get a good night's sleep.

Ski weekend at Top Notch

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great late winter ski vacation to Powderhorn staying at Top Notch. The conditions were perfect - lots of snow and temperatures that were not too cold or too warm. A great way to say goodbye to winter with the warm weather and rain coming this week. Since I also enjoy cross country skiing, I appreciate the easy access to the Wolverine ski trail at the top of the hill not far from this location. It's important to note that this rental is not exactly a ski in and ski out. It does involve a 50 yard walk from the rental to the slope. Not a big deal but didn't want anyone to think you can ski right up to the door.

Awesome Vacation Home!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve been coming to BIg Powderhorn for 20+ years and have satiated in many different houses on the hill and in the village. Top notch was one of our favorites, it was clean, great location, and very user friendly for 2 small families. Only disappointment was the Ski lift on our hill was NOT open. The cost to rent was reasonable for a ski in/out but with the list closed made this a bit unfortunate and not able to truly enjoy. Being that it was a close drive we made the best of it.

Snowmobile trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice, tv in every bedroom, right next to the ski hills which was more than we needed and was quite a ride to trails down the roads. If you were skiing it would be great, kind of pricey, next time we will stay at an air B and B closer to trails and less money! It is one of the nicer units at Powderhorn though.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice home with everything you could possibly need included. The home was fairly clean. If you rented this home to ski in and out you should make sure that there is enough snow. We were there Jan. 13 thru the 17th. and there was not enough snow so the lift was not opened and we had to drive for skiing, eating or just a warm up.

Top Notch truly is top notch!

We have rented 3 other trailside properties of similar size and Top Notch was easily the best. It was very clean, and the kitchen was stocked way above average (multiple spices and excellent assortment of large pots//pans) , and there was plenty of high quality firewood. The location was perfect.

Our family stay over the holidays..spacious but the basement...

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice main floor and upper but the downstairs with hot tub has mold issues. Ceiling was leaking in the hot tub room and by fireplace ceiling. The smell is of water damage in the basement is very strong and I had use my inhaler. The wood was empty inside with wet frozen wood outside but we eventually got it going!

Hi Erica, thank you for your review! We apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay and understand the frustration. Unfortunately, since the hot tub is in the basement that does cause a strong water smell, but there has been no water damage to the home. We try to keep the wood dry in the wood shed outside of the home, but with the heavy snow and wind it causes the wood to become frozen. We hope you were still able to enjoy your stay and all the activities this area offers!
