Very beautiful and spacious home. The location was great...just a few steps to the beach. Comfortable beds and lovely decor. This was our first time in Jekyll and we will be back. The only thing that I feel should be addressed is the fact that we had to walk through some bushes to get to the walkway for the beach. Maybe those can be cut down or trimmed for easier access. Other than that, wonderful place!

Cozy Retreat

This home provided plenty of room for our extended family. It had a lovely upstairs area with a beautiful view. Plenty of windows and sunlight. It had a nice location although not on the beach. We could see the water from the top deck. The decor was a little dated, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the beach theme. The property is large if you have a number of adults and children. There are multiple sitting areas and dining areas. It sits near a good location on the island close to Driftwood Beach and the Conference Plaza. It was a quiet neighborhood and relaxing. We would recommend the property. The owner and rental company were easy to contact and deal with. We felt like the rental was fairly priced. We enjoyed our stay.

Our family loved this ocean themed retreat. We will definitely keep this location on our list of places we would stay at again. We also enjoyed the quality bikes and equipment provided by VayK. Overall, this home is in great condition. Unfortunately, the local cable company does not seem to provide a true HD feed so the TV resolution was subpar. The appliances and kitchen accessories were typical of our other Jekyll Island rentals, meaning they are adequate but showing age or basic. Also, some of the TV remotes needed new batteries and did not work.

They have everything you need to cook with and plenty of beds and space to spread out. Lots of games to play on rainy days is a plus and if you are a book lover this is your place. It is beautifully decorated for the beach. The only negative was the beach access is misleading. You do have a little trail to the ocean but then you have to walk about 150+ yards in the sand to get to the beach itself. With a 7 month pregnant mama, a son with a prosthetic and a 18 month old plus the other smaller kids carrying everything to and from the beach was a chore itself. That was a big decision that led us to getting this house was we were close to the beach with direct access. But we managed and the house itself was wonderful.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Jekyll Island Properties are absolutely the best! They pay special attention to details, and the staff are great. With that said, the actual property is in serious need of repairs and upgrades. We've stayed in this house 4 times, and the last 3 years in a row. Water leaks from all faucets, toilets need upgrades, siding is coming off house, garage door won't shut, and the floor in the kitchen is caving in from rot. Management at Jekyll Island is quick to help, but the owner needs to REPAIR many parts of the house. All of this, and cost has gone up 35% over three years. Too bad...great location and could be a great house.

House was very convenient to the beach, and centrally located between all the nonsense around the market center (between 1-2 miles away), and close enough to Driftwood beach for a short walk. Very beautiful home and furnishings. Can't be happier with this place.The only problem with Jekyll Island now is the "growth" of condominiums. The seem to be popping up everywhere, which takes away from the beauty of the island. Need to stop it before it becomes like St. Simons.

Jekyll Island/Ocean Retreat Cottage were amazing! A first visit and for sure to return! Cottage was spacious and beautifully decorated! Love the beach theme and decor! Outside Deck and viewing Windows could have been cleaned and arranged better! Great location and within steps to the beach! Within minutes to the Market, Putt Putt, Restaurants, Georgia Turtle Center and Trolley Ride! Bike Riding a must do! Bring your own snacks, drinks, etc. because those items can be pricey on the Island! Take heed of timing for low and high tide though! Thanks for the memoriesāš“ļøšŸ¤™šŸ½

Location is perfect, and just a great place for our family.The only problem we have, with any rentals at Jekyll, is the garbage service. When we arrived, the 3 garbage cans were overflowing with trash. After being there a day, we had to make arrangements to get rid of trash we had. Monday, the trash people picked up, but they did not get half of the trash. Maybe because some of the trash was not bagged, but whatever. Still horrible smell, and full of trash.Something needs to be done with all the trash.

We loved the location, the street was very quite despite being the busy summer season. The house has more than enough room and the views from the top floor are beautiful. The only concern, is that the bathrooms are dated and the toilets are very low for those who are older and / or have bad knees. But overall this is a wonderful vacation home. Will definitely plan on staying at this property again!

A lovely retreat

Stayed here for four nights; I loved the architecture and the generous number of bathrooms. Leaving the sliders open at night to hear the crashing waves was an excellent way to get to sleep. Would stay here again!
