Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Zugang zum Strand in der nordöstlichen Hälfte der Insel begrenzt ist, da die Jekyll Island Authority Arbeiten an der Felsverkleidung beauftragt hat, die viele Häuser entlang des Strandes sowie unsere Küste schützt. Wegen der Arbeit und Zerstörung durch die Wirbelstürme Michael und Irma wurden alle privaten Strandrundgänge entfernt. Infolgedessen ist der Zugang zum Strand am nördlichen Ende von Jekyll möglicherweise eingeschränkt oder nicht vorhanden.

Der Zugang zum Strand ist am Driftwood Beach, im Great Dunes Park, im neuen Ocean View Park in der Nähe des Holiday Inn, im neuen Corsair Park neben dem Jekyll Club Ocean Suites Hotel sowie in den verschiedenen Parks am südlichen Ende der Insel möglich. Die Great Dunes und Ocean View Parks sind behindertengerecht. Wer den Tag am Strand verbringen möchte, kann auch den Strandzugang im Fußballkomplex am Südende ausprobieren.

Im Rahmen der Arbeiten an der Felswand werden ALLE Strandstraßen in der Nordosthälfte der Insel nach Abschluss der Arbeiten Strandkreuzungen aufweisen. Offizielle Aktualisierungen zum Zugang zur Küste sind bei der Jekyll Island Authority unter www erhältlich. Jekyllisland. com.

Great location and features we needed

We enjoyed staying at Seaview. This house is located right on a main bike path and convenient to the newly rebuilt beach crossover. The house is good for our small dog - especially with the fenced back yard. We look forward to another visit.

Spacious cottage

We enjoyed this seaview cottage! Plenty of room for our family vacation. We were disappointed that the house was locked (email had said it was unlocked with keys inside). So after a long trip there, we had to call, leave a message, agent returned call, she had to go get a key and come let us in. Then she wanted to do an inspection before we could move in. So we were almost an hour waiting after our expected 4:00 check-in. That was disappointing, but we still enjoyed our visit .

Good family getaway

Kitchen and washer dryer are great. Bathrooms and flooring could use updating. I would have expected it to be a bit cleaner. Not the owners fault, but Jekyll is adding rocks to the beach, so the beach access was a couple of blocks away. But overall it was a great space, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The best of the best!!

My husband, kitty, and I arrived on May14,2016and stayed 2 weeks. We stayed here last year and fell in love with the whole house and decided to come back this year The kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil and cookware one would need!! The washer and dryer are handy, too!! It is spacious and beautifully decorated! I am fond of the "seaside decor." There are numerous books and board games to enjoy!The is a TV in each bedroom so everyone can watch their favorite program. This is absolutely my favorite place to stay!! I highly recommend it!!!!

Spacious, clean, and great location

Jekyll Island is a true treasure. It offers a close connection with nature with the comforts of everything you need to enjoy your valuable vacation time. We’ve stayed just about everywhere on the island over the last 25 years and this is our favorite rental. Few things to note: 1) The house is very comfortable. The AC worked like a champ on hot days and we settled into the house immediately. The kitchen works very well if you aren’t in the mood to eat out and the gas grill worked perfectly for grilling some local shrimp. 2) The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures. We found the house to be more than enough room for our family of 4. There are 2 master suites in addition to the other 2 bedrooms, making this ideal for extended family or even 2 families. There is also a lot of room to spread out in the living room, dining room, and sun room. 3) The house is a great value. Given the size, location, and quality of the home, we would definitely stay here again. If you’ve never been to Jekyll Island, be sure not to miss: Historic tour Sea Turtle Center Summer night beach walks to find nesting sea turtles Sunset at wharf or south end Driftwood beach hike Golf Fishing at the pier Renting a Red Bug electric car for a day (or week)

Nice, but...

On the good side, the house is very spacious, except for the kitchen. The furnishings are nice but the bathrooms are dated and in need of cosmetic repair. The bad is that there is no beach "steps away". There is a stairs labelled "beach access" but that leads you directly into the water or onto rocks,. depending upon the tides. I'm told by a resident that the beach has all gone south years ago from the houses on the northern end. So getting to the beach requires a car trip. I don't recommend for small children or the disabled because there is a small step that's hard to see to between the front door and the rest of the house, and that step is not marked or flagged in any way except with a note on the entrance table. There's also a similar step up from the entrance to one of the bedrooms but that one is slightly marked with some flagging material. I'd probably stay elsewhere next time.

Thank you for your response, we appreciate your input. Seaview Cottage is located in the northern half of Jekyll Island’s residential area, where most residences are. Nearly all residences on this side enjoy accessible hard packed sand beach approximately half the day. Jekyll has two high tides and two low tides each day. We have a tide clock in our Jekyll Room so guests know when there is a high and low tide. The access steps to the beach are maintained by the Jekyll Island Authority, and in our opinion, well maintained. Seaview Cottage also offers pool privileges at one of Jekyll Island’s local hotels featuring two good size pools and a hot tub, providing an alternate place to swim during high tide (limited beach access) periods. Seaview Cottage was originally a very simple 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a small garage. The home has been greatly expanded to 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. It now offers two master bedrooms as well as the addition of a large sun room. The remodeling required a slight 4 or 5 inch step up from the exterior ground level foyer entrance to the main living area and the garage conversion to a 2nd master bedroom and bath. There is a handrail in place at the step up to denote there is a small step and to assist in making the transition. The remodeling has made Seaview Cottage a wonderful property, offering spacious comfort in a pet friendly home which is rented frequently. Some updates to our bathrooms have already been made and we continue to improve on them. Reviews on both VRBO and in our Guest Book at the house are very high, and we experience guests coming back regularly as a result. We welcome a follow up conversation to help ensure your future stay on Jekyll Island, and possibly Seaview Cottage, is a memorable one.

Not sure what's going on with the tide for half of the island of Jekyll. The last two times we have gone to Jekyll, you hardly could tell the difference in high/low tide. But the house was excellent.

Great location but…

We loved the location. However, we were disappointed in how the house was “stocked”. 3 bathrooms and we given two rolls so within minutes of arriving, we had to go back to Brunswick to get necessities that are usually provided. No soap for shower or sinks either. Light bulb in living room fan out so couldn’t play games and watch tv at night. Kitchen was lacking in serving bowls. Also lots of extra pillows provided but no pillowcases for them so couldn’t use the pillows. Our DIL was sitting on loveseat shortly after arriving and found a tick on her. It bit her but didn’t attach thankfully. We let out dog out in backyard and found ticks on her. Thinking it was because she had found a stick that it came from there. The next day, we let her out and found 9 ticks on her. So the backyard was no longer of use to us. Which was the main factor for booking this house.We had purchased wood to do a firepit but returned them since couldn’t use backyard. Owner needs to state in listing that there are minimal supplies and to bring your own salt and pepper, et al. We have stayed in numerous VRBO’s and this one is the first time to have to go to store immediately because if host fsilure to provide.

Thank you for your post. Every guest family that comes to our home receives a full set of linens and towels for the entire family, including rolls of toilet paper for up to 10 people. If additional linens, pillow cases, toilet paper or a light bulb are needed, a quick call to our management team will fulfill that request. Our team is available and on call 24x7 and are very accommodating for our guests. Every family that comes to our home receives a starter kit containing kitchen towels, linens and bath towels, toilet paper, sponges and soaps for the kitchen and bathrooms. Specific to Jekyll Island and other parts of the country, salt and pepper is not supplied (we have been VRBO guests ourselves at other properties and found this to be true). We do supply, however, extras such as a Keurig coffee maker, an air fryer, and even a Nutribullet. We were personally there in October 2021 with three dogs and had no issues with any kind of ticks, and we have never received a complaint regarding such. There are deer on Jekyll Island and ticks as well, and we encourage all families to have flea and tick collars on their dogs. We continue to look to make our guests’ stays a special one at Jekyll Seaview.

1st Jekyll Island Vacation

The house has a quirky floor plan (access to backyard from inside is through a bedroom). It would be nice to know there is no beach available at high tides. The gas grill is old and did not work well. But the house is spacious, and we had room for everyone.. However, the flying insects swarming in EVERY evening by the sliding so or in the living room was bad. We had to move our game nights into the other living room, which upset the sleeping arrangements . Though the bugs were sprayed for, the sound of them coming in, then we sprayed , and that smelled, then the gross piles of bugs to sweep up every morning, it was nasty and really was disappointing. If I owned it, I would want the truth. One message stated that the swarming of the bugs is “seasonal” and you knew about the rotting window sill. That is not MY problem, and you should have already repaired the window. If the landscaping was cleaned up it would cut down on the flies. Also, the outdoor shower. It was smelly and icky beside the garbage cans. Should be on the sunny part of the house. I would also put a covered area with some chairs and shade back there. You are wasting that space. I will most likely return to the Outer Banks of NC for my beach trips. At least for home rentals. I was very excited about this vacation, since it was our 1st family event since the start of COVID. What a pity the house did not hold up its end of the bargain. ☹️

We would like to thank our guest for her 4 out of 5 review - we appreciate the positive rating. As owners, we take a lot of pride in our property and are very diligent about keeping the house clean and attractive for all our guests. Our property manager had the flying ants issue corrected quickly as soon as we received the notice. Tides on Jekyll Island vary and all homes on the north end of the Island enjoy beach access ½ the time. We have a tide clock in the house so our guests know when there is access. In addition, there are 3 beaches available with 24x7 access, including the beach where we have pool passes included for our guests at the Days Inn. We would like to thank the guest for the idea of adding some shade and chairs in the back of the property. We currently have shade in two areas of the front of the property. Other items the guest mentioned have also been looked into and corrected. We are always looking for ways to improve our property. We look to make our guests’ stays a special one at Jekyll Seaview.

We will be back!!!

This is the 8th year in a row that I have rented a home on the island. This is the first year in this home. I will not be looking at any other rental homes, as long as this one is available! I have ZERO complaints about the property. The fenced in back yard was a bonus for our pup. We had an AC unit go out one morning and someone was there to fix it within the hour. The owners are very responsive to any questions. The home was so spacious, that there was an entire living room that we never sat in! Lol. My family and I can't wait to return next year.

Beautiful Sunrise

Wonderful relaxing home walking distance to the beach at which I was able to experience a beautiful sunrise to start each day. This home is very comfortable with a large open floor plan to spread out and relax. We gathered in the Jekyll room or outdoor patio to share our meals, our thoughts and enjoy each other's company. This home is fully furnished with all appliances and a fully equipped kitchen to give a feeling of home. This is my third time to Jekyll Island and I find the history, peacefulness and beauty of the Island to be a perfect getaway. Would recommend this home to families or a group of friends as there are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - plenty of room for everyone! I look forward to a return trip to Jekyll Island and stay at this home. I also would recommend it to my friends and family!!!!

A southern charmer for sure!

Great location! Super spacious and sunny property. This house was so cute and well maintained on a peaceful, beach access street. We loved the inside island decor and the outside green, plush landscape. The patio areas were our favorite spots for morning coffee and chatter about the upcoming day's activities. We walked to the beach access area for some fun on the "stairway into the ocean" - so cool- gotta try it folks, hang on to the railings! Fun, accessible bike ride from the house to all over Jekyll Island. We really loved our trip to JI, and staying in this adorable house was a super big part of our great time. Considering that we arrived only hours after Hurricane Hermine, we could not have been happier with everything and are soooooo looking forward to coming back to visit and staying here again. Big rooms, high ceilings, great kitchen for cooking, plenty of bathrooms, televisions. A true home away from home in the middle of a historic sanctuary - Thank you kindly for such wonderful hospitality!

So Thankful We Did This

Since my return home, when people ask about our vacation and the home we stayed in, my answer is simple. The house sleeps twelve (12) and we had no problems. Enough bathrooms, enough room that even when everyone was in the house, we were never on top of each other. The style of the home and the décor made it truly feel like home away from home. The Island is beautiful, and activities enough to keep you as busy as you want to be. A week of rest and relaxation was what we wanted and is what we got. Definitely rent this home, you will not be disappointed.

What a terrific place

Our vacation last September in Jekyll Island is one that my family will never forget. The best part of the vacation was the house we rented. The place was just so warm and inviting; the best compliment I can pay the owners of this house is it felt like home. I have stayed in many hotels, and resorts. . . But nothing can compare to coming back from a day playing at the beach or riding bikes, or visiting the Shrimp and Grits Festival and relaxing in what can only be described as home. This place had everything from great sleeping beds, comfortable, relaxing couches, washers, dryers, and a full kitchen. . . Plus a grill for those moments you just have to have a great hot dog and hamburgers. . . YUM!!! We enjoyed it so much, we are coming back this July to revisit our vacation "home"! If you are looking for a place to get away, relax and unwind. . .then this house is just what you need :)

Awesome - Third time staying

This was my third time staying at Seaview. I absolutely love the place. I came twice with friends for golf getaways. There are 3 great 18 hole courses and a fun 9 hole course all within a few minutes of the house. Everyone we dealt with on the island was friendly and accommodating. This last visit was with my wife and two other couples. The house has plenty of room for us to spread out and not be on top of each other. Waking up in the morning and bringing a cup of coffee down to the beach for the sunrise is a real treat. it is so close you don't even need to put your shoes on! Seaview is a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable place to stay. There's plenty of room for friends and family.

We'll be back

We took our first vacation without the now college-age kids (but with our older lab) and spent a good deal of the time thinking how much fun we’d have on the island next time joined by the extended family. The house could easily accommodate a large group without feeling like everyone was on top of each other the whole time. The house is great – large open areas, several different places for meals, gaming, tv, etc., in addition to a patio and a gas grill. We went at the end of September/early October, and the temps were perfect – in the mid-80s all week. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach (not a given from all the streets, you'll notice), and the proximity to the local attractions and biking trails. We took advantage of the pool and hot tub on two different days, which was a nice bonus. We also really appreciated how pet-friendly the island is. Find the Club Café at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for great breakfast pastries or for lunch on the veranda. We highly recommend the whole experience, and we’d love to go back to Seaview if given the chance.

Paradise!

What an incredible place to stay. A true retreat away from it all. Enjoying sitting out on the patio and listening to the waves! Beautiful sunrises every morning! Able to walk miles and miles on the beautiful beach. The house makes me feel at home. Everything you can possibly need is available. A fully stocked kitchen has been great for entertaining. The open, spacious rooms provide for a quiet corner or for all of us to hang out. Plenty of comfy seating and big bright windows to watch the sky. Thank you for making your rental better than home!
