Truly outstanding holiday home
We originally booked for 2020 but were unable to go because of COVID restrictions. We were grateful that Mylene carried over our booking and overjoyed when we arrived at the house
The house is magnificent and the photographs do not do it justice. Other reviews have talked about the decoration and well appointed bathrooms and they are not wrong. We were blown away. So much care, thought and attention has gone in to ensuring guests are comfortable. The beds are top notch, the kitchen is supplied with everything and more you could need to rustle up delicious food, and the grounds provide plenty of spaces to relax together or alone in quiet contemplation. We particularly enjoyed evenings under the trees lit with fairy lights.
The downstairs bedroom has rails by the toilet and in the shower for those with mobility needs and there is also a handy rail to help you in and out of the pool if required. I am a wheelchair user and Mylene and her husband went out of their way to ensure I could access the property with a ramp.
We have not known a generosity of spirit from property owners in the 20 years we have been visiting France.
The house itself is in a quiet location but only a couple of minutes in the car to a boulangerie and five minutes to the town of Lavaur with a great Saturday market and some lovely restaurants. At the end of the road is Chez John which serves delicious food and a ten minute drive will take you to Giroussens for a memorable meal with a gorgeous view over the Tarn. There are lots of places to visit within a thirty minute drive and Toulouse and Albi both forty minutes away are great for culture, eating and shopping!
We have only been back in the UK for two days but we’re already hoping to visit again in the future.
Thank you Mylene and Pierre!
