Everything was great! The home was beautiful. The pictures were accurate and there was more than ample room for our staff retreat. Please be prepared for the stairs, lol. My team took their welcome bags that I gave them and used that to put all the items in that they would need for the day so they didn’t have to go up and down the stairs. This actually made it easier for me to make sure that everyone participated in the activities I planned. Overall it was a great trip!

Only complaint is check in time was 4:00. They were still cleaning the house til 5:00. We had 7 small kids after a 6 hour drive wanting to get in house!!!

We are so glad you enjoyed the house and had a wonderful week besides the one hour delay on the cleaning. We use a commercial cleaning contractor and the main cleaning supervisor had a minor heart attack that day so they had to pull cleaners from another property. This rarely happens unless we have an emergency or the prior guest do not follow the checkout procedures and the house is left in bad shape but again this is a very rare situation. Glad you guys enjoyed the house and look forward to hosting you again!!

Beach paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had 12 adults and 7 children, with plenty of room for all. Having 2 dishwashers and 2 refrigerators was wonderful. The kids had a blast at the pool and being directly on the beach was so nice. The beach was beautiful and uncrowded. There were plenty of great restaurants nearby. We would love to come back some day.

This home was perfect for our family get away vacation. We always have a very large group. This house was perfect for accommodating a large crowd. The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable.

We had 18 for our family reunion ranging in age from 70 to 7. Everyone had a great time. Being right on the beach is nice and there were many games played in the pool. We’ll be back

Summer 2025

This is our 5th year renting this home and we just booked it for next year. Perfect for our family. On the water with a pool!! Lot next door is vacant so beach is never crowded. Any questions or concerns are always answered in a timely matter!! We love castle in the sand west!!!!

Great family vacation

The house is great for families. Large bedrooms and bathrooms. Great gathering space on first level and the kitchen was stocked well. 2 refrigerators and stoves and sinks/dishwashers is a plus! We needed one thing during our stay and we texted property manager. He brought it right over!

Summer fun time

Our 6th year to stay here in the castle. Big enough for all the family to have some space. Love having 2 dishwashers and 2 refrigerators. Our own pool is a must have!!

Perfect Getaway

We stayed here mid to late April. The heated pool was an excellent option for when we weren’t in the ocean. The ocean area is great because it is pretty shallow for quite a ways. We hardly had anyone near us on the beach. The home was laid out well and offered plenty of room for everyone. The manager was quick to reply to our communication.

Family vacation

This property looked as though it would be perfect. We had it rented 3yrs ago , due to family emergency we had to reschedule . It was nice and roomy for our group of 17. My husband and I could not go up the stairs and stayed on the first floor. I did think the property should have been cleaned more throughly for the price we paid for our group. I believe the house could use a few updates. When we rent a place for our family we want it to be immaculate. We did enjoy our family time, but due to our age will not rent here again. I would recommend it for a large group but also would state about some updates in some of the furniture and flooring downstairs. I did not go to the 2nd or 3rd floor

If we had been made aware of any concerns during your stay, we would have promptly addressed them to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. We hate to hear that you were unable to walk up any of the stairs and see the rest of the house on the second and third floors . In regards to the furnishings in the den, the sofa, marble coffee table and rug have all been replaced in the last 12 months. The barstools in the kitchen are also brand new and all the furniture on the back deck is brand new polywood furniture. We try to keep everything updated and well-maintained, and will address anything within our control if something needs attention during your stay. We provide our full-time maintenance supervisors direct number and our direct contact info so you can reach us at anytime if you have any issue that arises during your stay. Wow!

Wow! Our stay at Castle in the Sand West was fabulous! Our large family group (ages 8 months through 85 years) enjoyed a wonderful beach vacation, thanks largely to this beautiful facility and location. Beyond having clean and well thought out accommodations, here are some of the highlights. • We had our own uncrowded beach close to the house. We didn’t have to claim our spot early in the morning. We didn’t feel like we had to take everything out to the beach because we could easily walk back to the house to get a drink or some other thing we had left on the large deck. To the west was a stretch of isolated beach which was great for walks and shell hunting. • The house was well arranged for togetherness and fellowship in the living area and the kitchen and dining area were large, well supplied, and inviting. The separate ice maker was very convenient. The southern and western windows allowed for an excellent view of beach, water, and sunsets. • The large entry area was very helpful for storing golf clubs and other stuff we had brought on our trip. • The pool and deck were perfect for our group, and was a wonderful place to lounge, talk, and play. • The bedrooms allowed for retreat from the group, and the rooms were well insulated from sound. The bunkroom was great for our kids. • Greg, with Alabama vacation rentals, was EXTREMELY responsive and helpful, answering questions promptly prior to our trip, but, in reality, I never had to contact him during our stay because everything was in order. OK, the Wi-Fi should have been faster and another washer/dryer would have been helpful. And I prefer Saturday to Saturday rental (some of our group had to leave a day early to get back to Arkansas), but these issues in no way disrupted a fantastic trip to Orange Beach. Orange Beach Timeout

Our family has gathered on the Gulf Coast for more than 40 yrs. As our family grows so does the property need. The Castle in the Sand was perfect: enough bedrooms , several gathering spaces and short private beach access. We loved the open well equipped kitchen and large dining table. Overall a GREAT week.

Best Place on the Gulf Coast

We have been coming to the gulf for over 20 years and this place Castle in the Sand West was by far our favorite! Plenty of spaces to be alone or gather together as a group of 17. Very well stocked kitchen for family meals. Private beach, swimming pool and great communication with host Greg…what more could you ask for?

Best House Layout

I've never stayed in a better designed house. Wonderful kitchen, perfect place for laundry, loaded with all the cooking utensils, cookware, and place settings you need. Wonderful family gathering space, and just yards from the ocean. Only complaints at the plastic sheets, old fitted sheets, and uncomfortable dining room chairs. They put bruises on my thighs after a few days.

David, so glad your group loved the house, layout, location and design, we look forward to having your group back soon! To all future guests, we have cotton sheets, all our mattresses are higher end sealy (Black Opal Plush mattresses) that are 12-14 inches thick, and they all should have cloth encasements around them, matress pads and new sheets. I spoke with David, and his reference to plastic was on the bottom side of the matress encasement that had gotten pulled up on the corner, which caused fitted sheet to slip off. Also, the dining room chairs and dining table are higher end and came from Restoration Hardware, we have never had a complaint about them, but we also have two hostess fabric chairs at the heads of the table if anyone needs another option. Great Beach House

My family met here for a week of our Christmas break- it was awesome! The house is beautiful, location second to none (empty huge lot next door), well equipped kitchen and great heated pool on the back deck. We ranged in age from 22 months to 58 years- everyone loved it. We left the beach discussing plans to come back next year!

Perfect!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Orange Beach West! Everyone had plenty of space to feel comfortable. The kitchen was set up perfectly to entertain large groups. The view of the sunset each night was gorgeous! We all said on the first night that we will be staying there again.

Fantastic home with plenty of space for everyone

This was our first time in Orange Beach. This home is everything it says and even more. You are just a few short steps to the beach, a wonderful pool out your back door and if you are looking for other things to do, there is plenty near by and lots of food options also. Greg was great to work with and very quick to respond anytime we had a question. We definitely hope to go back.
