Dies ist ein charmantes Haus im Chalet-Stil mit 200 Fuß Uferfront am Bass Harbor und Blick auf den Hafen und die vorgelagerten Inseln. Das Chalet befindet sich auf einem privaten, bewaldeten Grundstück (Sichtschutz vor Nachbarn) und verfügt über ein großes 12 x 24-Zoll-Deck mit Blick auf den Hafen.

Entspannen Sie auf dem Deck und beobachten Sie Hummerboote, Segelboote, Kanus, Kajakfahrer und die Swans Island-Fähre im Hafen oder genießen Sie die Aussicht vom komplett ausgestatteten Wohnzimmer, Essbereich oder Schlafzimmer mit Meerblick. Kinder werden es lieben, die Enten zu füttern, die das Ufer besuchen, und Sie werden auch die Sonnenuntergänge von unserem Ufer aus genießen. Sie sind spektakulär! Das "Chalet" verfügt auch über geräumige Parkplätze abseits der Straße.

Die Unterkunft grenzt an den Acadia-Nationalpark, der eine wunderschöne Landschaft und folgende Freizeitmöglichkeiten bietet: Berge, Meerblick, Süßwasserseen und Wanderwege. Ebenfalls erhältlich sind Naturkreuzfahrten und Wanderungen, Walbeobachtung, Kajakfahren, Radfahren auf Kutschenstraßen und frische Meeresfrüchte! Es gibt viele Restaurants innerhalb von drei Meilen.

HINWEIS: Der nächtliche Preis wurde für den Zeitraum vom 12. Oktober bis 2. November gesenkt, da der TV- und der WLAN-Dienst deaktiviert wurden. WLAN ist in der Southwest Harbor Library verfügbar. Ihre Mietkosten reduzieren sich dadurch in diesem Zeitraum um mehr als 25% und liegen um 44% unter unseren Sommerpreisen.

There should not be a "large" number of day visitors, because it may tax the water supply and sceptic system. (To date this has not been a problem.)

The property was as described and very clean. Very peaceful and a terrific view. I would say the location is mostly private (construction/ near by house). This house overall is very comfortable and felt like a 2nd home to me. The deck has terrific views of the harbor and the location is very near to Acadia.

The chalet was clean and cozy, perfectly suited for relaxing by the harbor. This trip to Acadia, we decided to stay on the quieter side of the island and it was beautiful. The back deck was perfect to sit on and drink coffee while listening to the birds and waves lapping on the shore. The kitchen was well equipped and worked wonderfully for the times we didn’t want to eat out at a restaurant.We enjoyed the small-town pleasantries that nearby Southwest Harbor had to offer when we didn’t want to take the 40 minute drive to Bar Harbor or the major hikes of Acadia. Overall, it is a beautiful little chalet on the water and we had a wonderful stay!

What a magnificent location on Bass Harbor. This location is just what we were looking for - quiet! We were able to kayak right of the property during high tide. The Chalet was clean and well equipped. The host answered any question promptly.

Highly recommended. Great location, far away enough from the crowds elsewhere on the island, but still close to a few dining options and a few shops. The owners of this chalet really went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and pleased with our stay. Very pleased we chose to stay in their accommodations.

Lovely and peaceful home

This chalet is adorable, right on the water! So peaceful, comfy beds, and perfectly located for Acadia. Warren was so nice, and we loved staying in their family home. You can tell it's a special place to them, and we're so glad we got to experience it.

Best place we have stayed on the quiet side of MDI

This was one of the best places we have stayed on MDI. Close to our favorite lobster pound, Thurston's. We have always enjoyed staying on the quiet side of MDI, and this house was in the perfect location. There was really nothing missing that we needed. I just wished I would have brought my kayaks. Definitely next time.

Great house in a beautiful location!

My wife and our two teenage daughters had a wonderful week staying at this house. As described, the house is right on Bass Harbor, which makes hiking around Acadia and going to the ocean very easy. We love 'the quiet side' of Mt. Desert Island and Warren's house is the perfect spot to enjoy it. We hope to come back!

Great location

Great location, near Acadia but away from the crowds. Nice views, that change dramatically with the tide. The chalet has all you need, and was clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was good as well.

Acadia vacation

We had a wonderful week in Acadia and loved staying at the chalet on the quiet side of the island. It was the perfect home base for our day trips around Acadia, and we enjoyed watching the harbor and the tide come and go from the deck. The house was very comfortable for a family of four.

Wonderful Vacation Chalet!

My husband and I spent a very comfortable and cozy week at the Elvins Chalet! We celebrated his birthday and our anniversary during the week. The Chalet had everything we needed including privacy on the deck in front of the Harbor!! We visited Acadia National Park and took several day trips exploring the island. Would definitely return!

Peace on MDI

This is such a lovely little chalet right on the water. On the quiet side of the island which is what we wanted. Absolutely loved just sitting outside and watching the changing tides. Several restaurant options nearby but everything you need to cook at the chalet too. Very clean and lots of information provided by the hosts. Easy check in and out. Will definitely stay here if we are able to return to Maine again.

Perfect Chalet

We absolutely loved this Chalet! It was so picturesque and the cleanest and most well stocked VRBO we've ever rented. The owners truly care about their renters, which is evident in all the helpful information they share about the chalet, as well as the surrounding area, places to see, things to do, restaurants to try, etc. We hope to visit MDI in the future and make this chalet our home base again. Quieter side of MDI

The quaint chalet was a perfect location for my family as we revisited Mount Desert Island. We chose the quieter side away from the bustling Bar Harbor. The chalet amenities fit our family of 4, especially the deck overlooking the harbor. The detailed instructions provided in the mail by the Elvins as well as at the chalet were helpful in finding new things to do in addition to Acadia National Park. We had a wonderful time and appreciate the Elvins' sharing their chalet with us.

Great Acadia Vacation Spot

My husband and I stayed at the chalet during our vacation to Acadia National Park in August. The house was clean, well-kept, had a nicely equipped kitchen, and incredible views! It was a short drive to all the attractions of Acadia, yet was very private and quiet. Watching the changing of the tides right from the deck was one of our favorite pasttimes... The town of Southwest Harbor was very close, and had very good restaurants-our favorite was The Drydock Inn. We also enjoyed lobster from Thurston's-right across the harbor from the chalet. The owners were very communicative and answered lots of questions for us before our trip. Thanks for a great vacation stay!

A quiet escape after sightseeing while still having an ocean view and not far from the Island's most scenic spots. Many amenities are provided, some of which were requested by previous renters. Our rates are very competitive compared to comparable properties.

Our property is on a 0.3 mile dead-end, paved road, so it doesn't see a lot of traffic. Parking is off road in our spacious driveway. Our property is lined with greenery (mostly white spruce) so there's a good measure of privacy as well. Several renters have commented that it serves as a 'quiet oasis' after a hectic day of sightseeing. Perhaps that helps explain the fact that we have MANY repeat guests. Some have returned for five, six, and seven years. One couple was with us for ten years!
