Hi Kathleen, Owner Chris wanted to also respond to your review. We were all very surprised by it. Thank you for your review. Yours is the only negative review we have ever received. We agree that some of the furnishings are not up to date and are in the process of addressing that issue. However, we hope you otherwise found the house clean, well-equipped and comfortable. We’re sorry you were here during that long, cool, rainy spell, but hope you did not miss the view of the water entirely. And we are glad the fireplace kept you cozy. Hi Kathleen, Sorry for the nearly unprecedented rainy month, it was the coldest and rainiest on record for the last 3 decades. The ticks we do spray for every month. So, the property, as far as ticks go is better than many large oceanside properties with a healthy deer population, and an shallow predator count... with hunting for the most part forbidden. That's the downside of being on the 8th mile of a nine mile peninsula, with only one road and a heap of forest of either side. We do apologize. The house is authentic 1980's. So you are right about that. Most of the furniture is original, but we are updating major bits every year. So we are "trending" in the right direction while the whole family participates in keeping the property from being divided up and developed. It's a wealth of acreage devoted to wildlife and preserving spectacular views for everyone who visits or drives down the Neck. Thanks for caring enough to leave a review. Dee Property Manager
