Jolly Shores liegt auf einem fast 30 Hektar großen Grundstück am Wasser in der südwestlichen Ecke der Insel Daufuskie Island (wie es den Einheimischen bekannt ist) und ist der perfekte Ort für Veranstaltungen und Kurzurlaube. Eine rustikale Umgebung und die Nummer eins unter den Mietobjekten auf der Insel Daufuskie. Gäste können den Tag damit verbringen, vom Dock aus zu fischen, sich in der Sonne zu entspannen und die Annehmlichkeiten vor Ort zu nutzen (Billard- und Ping-Pong-Tische, Volleyballplatz, Kochbereiche usw.). oder besuchen Sie nahe gelegene Sehenswürdigkeiten (Strände, Restaurants, historische Sehenswürdigkeiten).

Die Unterkünfte umfassen 7 Schlafzimmer (4 Queensize-Betten, 2 Kingsize-Betten, 2 Einzelbetten), 6 Badezimmer, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, eine Waschküche (Waschmaschine und Trockner), ein Wohnzimmer und eine 2.000 m² große Veranda. Das Haupthaus verfügt über 3 Schlafzimmer und 2 Bäder. Das Gästehaus verfügt über 4 Schlafzimmer und 4 Bäder und liegt weniger als 50 m entfernt.

Die Gäste finden auch in ihrem Aufenthalt enthalten: Bettwäsche und Handtücher, Endreinigung, lokales Telefon, TV und WLAN.

Zum Transport gehören zwei Golfwagen.

We had multiple families converge on Daufuskie for the 4th of July. We rented multiple homes on Avenue of Oaks, but we really needed one with a dock. Jolly Shores was exactly what we were looking for. It was able to dock 3 of our boats. I can't speak highly enough of the property owner/manager, Casey. He was so responsive and helped us make the vacation as easy as possible, from arrival and departure to even after departure (contacting us about items left behind). The pictures are accurate. It is a unique property with beautiful natural surroundings. The interior was very clean and very well-appointed. The commercial ice maker was not advertised but is definately an assett of this property! Also, air conditioning worked great! Loved that Jolly Shores comes with TWO golf carts. Thanks for a great vacation experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed The property was exactly what we needed for a small wedding ceremony.Lots of room, the property is beautiful, and the views are amazingSpent most of our time in the screened in porch area, was a great place to set up for food and enjoy the pool tables, dartboard, and all the activities.Enjoyed the golf carts and being able to ride to town.There is a general store on the island a little pricey, but can be expected.The kitchen was fully stocked for all of our cooking needs.Beds were comfortable, and showers were hot.Host was very responsive to any issues and any question that we had, very helpful when it came to transportation and other things we may need while staying on the island.This is not the Ritz Carlton, but more like an old cabin in the woods with a beautiful water view.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the time with our family and friends and memories we made.

Perfect get away

Perfect way to get away on the Dafuskie! Thoroughly enjoyed the two golf carts that were available for going out to the local restaurants. We were a fun group of friends wanting to spend the weekend enjoying daufuskie and we did just that. Lots of sleeping Arrangements, nice place to hang out and play games! Provided a great getaway! We arrived with our own boats so the dock was greatly appreciated.

Excellent spot if you have a large group. The communal screened-in porch with a commercial ice machine, bar, pool table, etc. is perfect for entertaining. Huge property with a dock and plenty of room for outdoor activities. The owner was extremely helpful and took great care of us!

Jolly Shores was the perfect location for a group of friends to vacation! The second building was set up like a motel with each room having its own individual entrance and bathroom. Most of our time was spent on tbe screened in area with a bar, ping pong table, and pool table! It was perfect!

House was awesome, location was great perfect for my bachelor party. Had 13 guys and we had 5 boats on the dock and made them fit, always a good time on Dafuskie never ran into a stranger and met a lot of cool locals. Golf carts were clutch to enjoy the island, we will most likely be planning a yearly mens trip back out there.

Great fun for our large group!

We always love Jolly Shores. The golf carts, pool table, ping pong table, big TV, ice machine (😍), and TWO refrigerators are really great additions! We love all the private bed and bath options, too. This location offers all the flexibility that we needed- including a dock for our boating friends who joined us! We cooked, laughed, sung, napped, and hung out together and enjoyed the best sunsets on the island!

Hi Laura, As mentioned in our VRBO posting and a number of the reviews, Jolly Shores is a rustic setting. This means that while the property and all sheets/towels/etc. are professionally cleaned at every checkout, we might have some leaves blow in on the outdoor screened in area, some sand that gets caught on the base boards, and other items that our mostly repeat-guests consider trivial. It is clear that you did little to no research on our property or your destination in general, evidenced by your comments to me and also to the golf cart rental company you used - "Oh my god, you have to drive on dirt roads?!". Therefore, when you complain to me about the way that we hang the towels, and send pictures of the closed-off utility closet that needs sweeping (why are you in there to begin with?), don't be surprised when you're not taken seriously. A group of friends and cousins

A large group of adult friends and cosines enjoyed this time together. This place had enough space to accommodate a large crowd. Most of us had our on bathroom, and the large screened in porch was so much fun for us all! The property is large and riding the golf carts around it made us feel like kids again. The owner is great and was very accommodating! This may be our forever rental on Daufuskie Island!

Dirty

The host was very responsive and helpful leading up to our trip. However, upon arrival I was horrified at the lack of cleanliness of the property. It was absolutely filthy and appeared to have not had a drop of TLC in quite sometime. I will definitely be back Daufuskie but will absolutely never stay at Jolly Shores again. If you’re someone who like camping then maybe this property is a good fit but if you’re someone who doesn’t like bugs and vines growing indoors then I’d say avoid this property at all cost.

Daufuskie Island Disgusting House

Our family was there about 10 years ago and it was very cute, but they have not done a single thing to keep it up since then!!! It was absolutely disgusting, the most filthy place I have ever stayed!! Rat feces found in corners and other areas. Half of the lights didn’t work and still continued to burn out after they tried to replace them. The golf cart roof fell in on our family and are a danger to even use. Not to mention the dock that is completely falling in, it is unsafe to leave a boat tied up there. I would strongly suggest not staying if you would like a nice house for you and your family to vacation!! It was horrible!!!! I cannot stress enough how disgusting this house is!

Hi Kim, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, but I felt it was important to have an actual update on some of the issues you noted rather than just a canned response that is all too typical in reviews. The dock float and ramp were finally replaced last month - this was something that I've attempted to have worked on for several years and because of the remote nature of the island, size of the job, etc. had very little luck. Had you made it known at the time that you didn't feel comfortable docking your boat, I would have directed you to my backup dock 5 minutes down the road. Similarly, had you brought to my attention the issue with the 6 passenger cart, I could have given you a different cart as I do keep backups in case of emergencies like this. You told me about the fluorescent bulbs that were out and I fixed them within several hours so I'm not sure why you didn't feel comfortable mentioning some of your other concerns...? After reading your review, I took additional time to scrutinize the cleaner and I agree with you 100% - the cleanliness of the house was completely inexcusable. I had hired a different cleaner before the busy season last year and unfortunately placed too much trust in them as I had known them for a very long time and had confidence in their ability. The previous 2-3 groups had given me very positive feedback and as the property is occupied almost non-stop May-August, I do rely on this feedback to keep up with things that can't be monitored in the 3-4 hours between groups. Beautiful Rustic property. Secluded, large yard, plenty of room. Well maintained dock to fishing or relaxing. Landscaping needs sprucing up. Living Qtrs- there are 2 living qtrs on this property. Couldn’t give the property a 5. The property needs major renovations and lots of TLC. 1st living qtrs Main house -3 Br 2ba with a very large screen in game room with bar. kitchen out dated old pots, pans, and cooking utensil. Dirty-baseboards, behind stoves and Fridge. Fridge may needs to be replace keeps cool not cold. 1 Main Bthrm in the kitchen-needs to be gutted. Claw foot tub and toilet has something black coming down the wall behind it looks to be mildew/mold 2 Bthrm in the laundry room-this is a cleaning room out house. would not consider formal bathroom Living room area-was Good-nothing bad- very spacious. Game Room- enclosed screen in area. All screens needs to be updated, a lot of the lower screens were no longer stacked down. The furniture dirty and was not prepared for guest. Pool table-needs repair the pocket netting was ripped (balls hit floor) TVwas great Bar need cleaning but was great Gas grill could not get work used the charcoal grill. Golf Carts 2 A must have to view the island. One died but the owner brought another one over. FYI-Make sure to get details instructions on charging them. 2nd Jolly INN- More up to date than the main house. More like a motel very cute. 4 separate rooms with bathrooms in them. No Keys but felt very safe on the property. 1 room had plumbing issues we could not use it. The furniture for each room could have been more consistent. Some had lamps, some had dressers, and some did not. Window A/C unit and portable heaters. Recommendation to update the heating and cooling system. Bedding-1 room was missing a mattress cover. Due to the fact the sheets were all dark blue and all pillows were stained. For our level of comfort we choose to re-wash everything. Recommendation (replace all pillows and add pillow cover protectors change color of sheets to white for sanitization purposes need to be able to bleach them.Overall we enjoyed ourselves despite having to go in and clean before we were able to start our event. Appreciated the owner providing transportation to the houseWe had a lot things because it’s only one store on the island and was told it was pricey The owner helps us out with some paper towels when we ran out. Very nice of him definitely would consider re-booking once those things are resolved.

Hey Lakeio, Thanks for your review and thanks for pointing out some things I wasn't made aware of previously - I immediately purchased new cookware, fixed the netting on the pool tables, and had the golf cart re-fitted with a new charger (which was apparently the cause of it dying so quickly) upon reading your review. Unfortunately, a couple of the other issues (and to my fault) were not up-to-par because this was the only week of the year that I was on vacation and was unable to fix personally - specifically, the Presidential Suite toilet and the screens. I typically handle stuff like this and my maintenance guy on island apparently dropped the ball (presumably because of the holidays). The other items that you brought up are for the most part things that I have been waiting to fix this winter - because of the popularity of the property, I have to wait for late January/early February to fix these issues (re-flooring the living room for example). I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves and I look forward to seeing you in the future. Thanks, Jolly Shores
