Set across nearly 5,000 m² of gardens in Santa Catarina Palopó, Casa Verapaz offers beautiful views of Lake Atitlán and the surrounding volcanoes, along with a pool, jacuzzi, gardens and natural lake access.

The residences
Carina is our largest residence and accommodates up to 8 guests. It includes a private main bedroom with a king bed, a spacious open loft with two king beds, a sofa bed, 2.5 bathrooms, a freestanding bathtub overlooking the lake and volcanoes, full kitchen, living and dining areas, dedicated workspace, private balcony and private gas BBQ.

Vela accommodates up to 4 guests with a king bedroom, sofa bed and 1.5 bathrooms. It includes a freestanding bathtub overlooking the lake and volcanoes, full kitchen, living and dining areas, private balcony and private gas BBQ.

Pablo accommodates up to 4 guests with a queen bedroom, sofa bed and 1.5 bathrooms. It includes a full kitchen, living and dining areas, work area, private gated garden and private gas BBQ.

All three residences have Wi-Fi, cable TV, full kitchens with refrigerators and freezers, and beautiful lake and volcano views.

When you reserve this listing, Carina, Vela and Pablo are all included in your reservation. Your group therefore has exclusive use of all three residences.

The pool, jacuzzi, larger gardens and natural lake access are also available to your registered group. The pool is unheated, and the jacuzzi is heated on request.

Casa Verapaz has natural lakeshore access rather than a beach-style swimming area.

Location
Casa Verapaz is located in Santa Catarina Palopó, a living Kaqchikel Maya community on Lake Atitlán.

We are a short walk from the center of the village and approximately 10–15 minutes by road from Panajachel. The property has both road and lakeside access.

Guest access
Your reservation includes private access to Carina, Vela and Pablo, including their private balconies and garden areas.

Your group will also have access to the pool, jacuzzi, larger gardens and natural lake access.

Each residence includes one assigned parking space, for a total of three spaces. On-site parking is best suited for smaller vehicles; larger or additional vehicles may require nearby parking.

Some gated areas of the property, including the main house and service areas, are reserved for owners and staff.

Check-in instructions are sent 24 hours before arrival.

Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $50 USD / Q385 per pet, per stay. Please add your pets to the reservation.

Paid laundry service is available for Q60 per load. There are no washers or dryers inside the residences.

Casa Verapaz is built into the hillside, and the three residences are located on different levels of the property. Outdoor paths and stairs connect some areas.

Exterior security cameras monitor designated entrances and common access areas. They record video only, not audio. There are no cameras inside residences or private guest spaces.

Casa Verapaz is private property. Only registered overnight guests may enter or use the residences, pool, jacuzzi, gardens and lake access. Outside visitors are not permitted under a normal accommodation reservation.

Santa Catarina Palopó is a living community. You may occasionally hear church bells, religious services and music, dogs, boats, fireworks or local celebrations. Fireworks can sometimes occur early in the morning.

We respect our guests’ privacy and are available if you need help with local recommendations, transportation, private chefs, massages, boat trips or other experiences during your stay.
