The Space:

Breathtaking views of the ocean await at this incredible blufftop home. With a private hot tub overlooking the water a spacious deck and grill, the view can be enjoyed at every turn. You will have a wood-burning fireplace, binoculars to get a closer look at the ocean, and a full kitchen. Privately situated on the cliffs of Gualala, you will instantly feel at peace and at home.

The Neighborhood:

Nestled where the Gualala River meets the Pacific, this small coastal town offers local dining, art galleries, and easy access to Gualala Point Regional Park. Kayak the river, explore tide pools, or hike the coastal bluffs -- all within minutes.



Getting Around:

Gualala is approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1, right on the Mendocino-Sonoma County border. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport at roughly 90 minutes east. A car is recommended -- Highway 1 is one of the world's great coastal drives.

Seasonal ants: This neighborhood sometimes sees ants during certain times of year. We monitor the home regularly and treat proactively when needed. If you notice any activity during your stay, please message us so we can address it quickly—thank you.



Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring wildflowers (April-June) blanket the coastal headlands and the banks of the Gualala River with vibrant color. Summer on the Mendonoma Coast (June-September) means warm days and the occasional morning fog that burns off by lunch.



Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

Gorgeous views and lovely living room. HOWEVER, the two en suite bathrooms are in terrible condition. Missing/broken drawers, cabinet door; peeling liner in tub, broken hand held shower holder in master bath, and there’s a major gash in the refrigerator door panel. The house was clean, but there are so many deferred maintenance and repair items, that it should not be rented again until everything has been fixed. For such a beautiful property, it is a travesty to let it sit in disrepair as it is now. So sad.

Picture on Vrbo must be really old. The pictures made the property look flawless. It did not show the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling just inside the front door to greet you. The water damaged baseboards thru out the house or the plastic peeling off in the only bathtub in the house. Also didn’t show the drawer and door on the master bath vanity missing. But don’t worry they hung pillow cases over them to cover them. House was filthy with ants thru out it. Master bedroom had bait trays. Ants in living room and guest bathroom. They did have spray. Exactly how I wanted to spend my vacation playing an exterminator. Broken towel holders in bathroom. Deck lights rusted and swinging in the wind. Contacted Vacasa sent them pictures of the damage and said this isn’t what the listing looks like and was informed they are not in control of the pictures posted. Pretty amazing as the same exact false advertisement pictures are on the Vacasa app. A property management not responsible advertisement. That’s weird! Went to vacasa’s local office was told the manager was on a walk and would be back shortly. Once I showed them the pics of the property all the sudden she wasn’t going to be back til Monday. House had a beautiful view but the house was nothing near as advertised. Ohh and don’t forget about the yellow stained pillows on the beds and the one with dryer blood on it!!!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Cliff House. The views are amazing from the deck. The hot tub was comfortable and soothing after a few hours of warming it up to optimal temperature from a starting temperature of 76. The King bed in main bedroom is comfortable, and that bathroom is large and convenient. We appreciated the reasonably priced option on our stay for late checkout at 2pm as well. Would definitely stay again in the future.

The views are spectacular, and the privacy of the home made for a very relaxing stay. We had an issue on check-in day when we didnt realized there was no hot water until 8 in the evening. But the Maintenance man, who was very kind,came out right away to resolve this and it did not put a damper on our stay. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and would even love to stay again one day.

This house doesn’t have heat. The day before our reservation in October, Vacasa property management called to say the heat was out due to critters chewing into the ductwork. They left the impression that it was a recent issue; however, we later checked reviews and saw that others had commented about the heat being out more than a month before our reservation. The property owner should be informing customers well in advance so they can make decisions on cancelling or rebooking elsewhere. At a minimum, it was dishonest to inform me only the day before, which voided any refund provisions in the agreement. While it did get a little cold in the house it was tolerable, thankfully due to warmer fall weather. The bigger issue were those critters that were scratching and clawing beneath the house at the floorboards. It was so loud and disturbing that it kept us awake each night, and I was half expecting to find a family of raccoons in the kitchen in the morning (we didn’t). This isn’t normal; the property owners need to call in exterminators/ wildlife experts to mitigate further damage to the house. This house could be a gem with some maintenance; it is spacious and overlooks the ocean. Huge patio and working hot tub.

This place is really a great location. Ocean views, great weather and good layout of the home. However, so much maintenance needs to be done on this place. The barbecue was so rested it took us a long time to clean it, we received a call that there was no Heating but a nice fireplace and space heaters. No kindling for the fireplace and we burned everything paper and was still unable to get it going. We still had a good time to spite it all. So many burned out bulbs and the kitchen definitely needs more supplies, such as foil, plastic bags or Saran Wrap at the least. Anyway we still had fun despite it all.

Great location. Nice home but...The landscape itself needs some attention overgrown, walkways overgrown. The home can use some attention as well. Alot of mold in the bathroom adjacent to the King room, drawer missing, door missing. Hot tub could use safety railing, all sliders need cleaned much debris in tracks. Ants seem to be making their way in through the dishwasher.

Loved that the great room and both bedrooms had floor to ceiling windows that looked out to the ocean. Positively gorgeous! We have stayed in a lot of homes but this was incredible. Will definitely be coming back.

The views were as advertised. Spectacular. The Jacuzzi was in fine working order. Bathrooms were clean. The biggest negative was the second bedroom bed was not suitable for 2 people as the mattress was too soft and caved into the middle when 2 people tried to sleep. It was only usable for 1 person, the the other person had to use the couch. Jody from the management company was very responsive to our request to bring a starter for the stove and bbq.

Location, location, location

If you want an incredible view, high ceilings, and a hot tub, this is the place! It was spacious and clean. No, the house isn't ready for an Architectural Digest photo shoot - but that isn't its purpose. It is a vacation rental. So, there are some aesthetics that could be improved but the main thing is that it is functional. And the views are stunning. The deck is huge, and the hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and just right (not too firm, not too hard). I have made just a few suggestions to the property management. I would probably give it a 4.5 since there were a few things that need to be fixed. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The place was great with views of the ocean from every room of this oceanfront property.There is an Ant problem in the kitchen area that should be addressed. The second bedroom bathroom needs to be upgraded as it’s showing its age especially the tub.
