Fran was the great-grandmother who started it all — a stylish, spontaneous, adventure-loving woman who began bringing her family to Old Orchard Beach decades ago. What began as small summer trips grew into five connected families returning year after year. This home honors that tradition — a place to gather, unwind, and create your own beach memories.

Tucked on a peaceful residential side street just minutes from the heart of OOB, this standalone 1900 cottage offers something rare: your own private home within walking distance of the beach, Pier, restaurants, and nightlife.

The beach is just 0.6 miles away 🏖 and the Pier and “the strip” are 0.8 miles from the house 🎡. The OOB trolley stop is a two-minute walk, making it easy to explore without constantly moving your car. Instead of staying in a crowded motel or condo building, you’ll return to your own cozy beach cottage at the end of the day.

Fran’s Nook is 537 square feet and thoughtfully arranged to sleep up to six guests, making it ideal for small families or couples traveling together. Downstairs you’ll find a comfortable living area with Smart TV 📺, a dining space, a fully equipped kitchen 🍳, and a full bathroom with a shower (no tub). Window air conditioning units help keep the home comfortable during summer stays.

Upstairs are two bedrooms — one with a double bed and one with two twin beds. The upper level features charming slanted cottage ceilings that reflect the home’s 1900 coastal character. Taller guests should be mindful of the angled ceilings.

Outdoor space is one of the highlights of this home 🌿. The screened-in front porch is perfect for slow mornings with coffee ☕ before heading to the beach, and the backyard patio offers space to unwind after a full day in the sun.

Parking includes space for two vehicles in the private driveway 🚗. Additional street parking is available, if needed.

Well-behaved pets are welcome 🐾, making this one of the few walkable-to-everything cottages in the area that accommodates furry family members. Please note the home is regularly occupied by pets, so guests with severe allergies should consider this before booking.

While Old Orchard Beach can be lively in peak season, Fran’s Nook sits just far enough off the main strip to provide a bit of breathing room while still allowing you to walk to restaurants, amusement rides, mini golf, nightlife, and the beach itself. For a change of pace, Portland, Maine is only a fifteen-minute drive away.

Additional details to note: the home uses a Smart Lock 🔐 for secure self check-in. There is no washer or dryer in the home, but a laundromat is located 0.2 miles away. There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. The cottage layout is compact and designed for guests who plan to spend their days enjoying the beach and town.
