The walk to the beach was very close. Listening to the waves at night was so lovely. They had everything available that you would need including sand toys, chairs, wood for a campfire. It was a great location and our family really enjoyed our stay!

If you’re looking for something simple with a great location, this is it. 5 minutes to coffee and food, 3 minutes to having your toes in the ocean. Great dog property.

So glad Our Happy Place was the simple, close-to-everything escape you were after. Knowing the short walk to coffee, food, and the beach made your stay easy—and that the space worked well for a dog—means we accomplished what we set out to provide: relaxed, effortless coastal time. We’d love to welcome you back whenever you’re ready for more ocean toes and slow mornings.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a nice distance to the beach and everything in town. The house was well stocked and clean. We will definitely be renting this property again.

The house is literally a 3 minute walk to the beach. The house provided a couple of “umbrella” type folding chairs, sand toys, and beach towels for use at the beach. They provided games, cable tv, and puzzles for family entertainment. The kitchen was equipped with most of the basics needed to fix our meals. There were a few things that needed “fixed” or addressed. They were quick to respond to my messages, and to try to correct the problems immediately.

Thanks for staying at Our Happy Place. We're glad the short walk to the beach and the stocked beach gear and games helped your family enjoy the coast—those touches are meant to make days together simple and relaxed. We appreciate the note about the few things that needed attention; our team responded quickly and we've followed up to keep everything in good shape. Safe travels, and we hope to welcome you back to the coast.

The location was great. A quick walk to the beach and to the front street. The house was clean and had all what we needed. The only part that was hard was the house gets HOT! That afternoon sun baked the house. I’m glad I brought a fan from home. I wish the house had either air conditioning or fans. I’m not sure how I didn’t catch it, but I was surprised the bedrooms are up stairs. For some reason I thought it was single level. All in all it was a great place. This is a petty grievance, but all the hand soaps were low to empty after a few uses.

We’re glad Our Happy Place was a comfortable base for your trip. The bright, sunlit feel is part of the beach-house charm, but we understand afternoon warmth can be much. We’ll add more fans and update the listing to clearly note the upstairs bedrooms and sun exposure. We’ll also make sure hand soap is topped up between stays. We’d love the chance to host you again.

Great stay!!

This was a very nice property. Extremely close to beach access. The Beach was not over crowded and just beautiful! There were a couple inconveniences with the property but nothing unbearable. Plenty of amenities we didn't even have to worry about if we forgot anything it was all there!!

Beautiful spot just across the street from the beach.

Nice size house for our big group of 9, love the access to the beach just up the street. They had beach toys for the kids to use at the beach which was awesome. Few issues during our stay but nothing real huge to make me cancel my stay. Would rent again from them, even this house.

Lovely Place

My wife and I stayed there for three nights, and found it to be just right for us. Everything was clean and in good order. We also really appreciated the proximity to the beach, as well as numerous activities and attractions a short drive away. Overall it's a fine place with a great location. I'd love to go back and stay again, and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks!

It was everything we hoped for!

Our goal for this vacation was to celebrate one’s birthday and to give our elderly dog one last trip to the beach. We were so happy that dogs were accepted and the accommodations were perfect. Close to beach access, home was neat and clean and very well organized. Our dog Smokey had a great time and we are so very grateful for this last opportunity with him.

Our Happy Place Rockaway Beach

This is a no frills house but very comfortable and very well appointed with everything you might need. Really close beach access (you do have to go down some rock ‘steps’ which might be challenging for some people although it was pretty easy, if you need easier access the public beach parking is a minute drive away). Being so close to the town with easy walk ability to restaurants, shops, stores etc. is awesome, you really never have to get in your car!

Exceeded expectations

We were greated with the smell of a freshly cleaned house. The walk to the beach & shopping was closer than expected. The house had everything we needed and very dog friendly. I was expecting tight living & sleeping spaces but that wasn't the case.
