Amazing kitchen and view. Comfy beds and living area. Little difficulty finding because of the different addresses. Watch out for water rising quickly if they open the dams, paddling upstream became quite an adventure. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely place for relaxation. I knew we would enjoy it, based on the photos of the deck and river just outside, but we really ended up loving it. The owners have been remodeling the house over the last couple of years, and their care and quality shows.There was a minor issue with the furnace during our stay, and Jim came within the hour to take care of it. It seems to be a great fishing spot based on the fisher-peoples in the park across the river, and based on the birds!! We saw ospreys, pelicans, a bald eagle… and a bachelor group of ducks waddled through the yard every day to spend time on the river. It’s magical. We’d love to come back. Oh, there are also two sit on top kayaks! The river current was very strong during our stay, so be careful.

The River House was all we expected and more. We loved the house and the beautiful deck overlooking the river. Our boys brought their fishing poles along and although they didn't have any luck catching anything, they had fun. The renovations made the house are amazing. Lovely, big kitchen with everything you would need. The attention to detail was much appreciated. (extra toothbrushes and toothpaste in the bathrooms. Scissors and tape in the kitchen, Games and movies, nice fireplace, etc.) We didn't have time to use the firepit, but wish we did. I would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Very nice location, plenty of room for everyone. The boys loved fishing, we liked the fact that the water level is knee high at best so that the boy could play around and not worry about them. We were provided kayaks; it was fun kayaking down the river. We would stay again.

This was a beautiful hone on the river! Great views and got to see lots of ducks! They had everything I could think of. The kayaks were a great plus! Dogs had a blast! Definitely would stay again!

Yana & Jim are exceptional hosts!! Super friendly, responsive & happy to help with any questions or concerns. We are incredibly grateful they allowed all of our pups to stay with us - we bring them with us whenever we travel and it is hard to find places that will allow multiple "big" dogs (we have German Shepherds). The house was amazing - plenty of space for all of us. The bed was super comfortable. The view was spectacular - I loved being able to look out at the water and not see any other houses! The fire pit was fun too, the deck is huge. Being able to spend time outside and having it feel private & having a water view with immediate water access was critical for us. Our dogs really enjoyed being able to play in the water. Yes there are people fishing on the river but it was never a problem at all. Easy access to the house from the main road, but it didn't feel like you were in town at all. Over all an excellent place to stay. My only item on the wish list would be a fenced in area (6 foot tall - off of the side entrance by the kitchen/restroom area) for our dogs to go out and stretch their legs (and burn off some energy). Thank you Yana & Jim for an excellent place to stay with our pups for our anniversary!!

Lovely, extremely clean house. Plenty of space right on the river. Locals are friendly, owners were communicative, very friendly and helpful. This was a delightful Vrbo experience and a perfect retreat from Madison.

My hubby and I are both serial entrepreneurs. We are laid back, low key, low maintenance types and appreciate hosting the same kind of people! We are both nature-loving and love hunting and fishing and spend as much time as we can doing these things at our remote camp only accessible via water.

We knew the owner, Bill, and he unfortunately had serious health issues. He entered a nursing home and the home was vacant for 3 years. During that time there was power loss and flooding and we had our hands full when we acquired it. We have been working hard ever since to make it comfortable.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

The river never freezes in Winter right by the dam, which makes it a neat place to be when everything else is frozen over. It absolutely rages in the Spring, the water has risen as high as the steps, but gradually gets shallower and shallower in the heat of the Summer. Fall is gorgeous. The view is very nice and there is over 2,000 feet of waterfront to enjoy. The water is fresh and clean and you may enjoy tubing or kayaking, wading or fishing here, it is a known hot spot for many kinds of fish, from brown trout, to walleye to small mouth bass and more. In addition there is a boat launch within 1 minute and more walking trails across a quaint bridge and to the other side.
