Unfortunately I agree with the 4-6 star reviews. The wonderful thing about this property is that it’s so close to the beach! However, the house is in dire need of some TLC. As soon as we walked in we were hit with a musty smell which signals there’s a mold problem. The entry door has dirty fingerprints around lock. My husband had to go around with a broom to clear all the cob/spider webs from the ceiling and baseboards. The walls are very scraped/scuffed/marked up with one corner by the toilet in the master bathroom completely degraded, leaving a hole. The vanity mirror in the master bathroom also covers part of the outlets. The grout in the shower is filthy, the calking is covered with black mildew, and the floor grout around the pebble mosaic tile is very cracked. The valance in the master bedroom is broken and I made the mistake of looking underneath the bed to find an outlet extension (there wasn’t one). The wicker furniture had very visible caked on grime in the crevices. We had to place blankets on the couches because when we got up from sitting we felt damp. The last thing I’ll mention is that the furniture is extremely worn to the point of having holes. I’m sorry to say that it seems like the property owners/managers take no pride in what they offer and do below the bare minimum to ensure an enjoyable stay. I read the reviews prior to booking and figured with all the apologies made to each reviewer that the issues would have been addressed. Clearly not the case.

This is a comfortable house just a short walk to the beach. My family of four enjoyed our 1-week stay tremendously, walking to the lovely nearby beach at least daily. It's also within an easy drive to Charleston for museums and close to other beach towns. The kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfy. Only down sides: there were ants showing up daily, so we were very careful with our trash. Also this is the first vacation rental I have seen that did not provide beach towels. Other than that, it's a great spot. We had a wonderful time. I recommend!

The location of this property is wonderful. It's an easy walk to two beach boardwalks. The unit was clean when we arrived, so there are no issues with cleanliness. This could be a really cute villa with some updates, but the place is just 'tired.' The furniture is old and smells of mildew, the bathrooms need new caulk (old is black and flaking off), the master suite needs a new mattress, and the door to the deck is in major need of some oil/work to make it easier to open. The kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, utensils, etc., but do not leave any food out on the counter. We fought ants during our stay. I realize this is not a unique issue with beach homes, and the house did have ant spray which was helpful. We realized quickly that all opened food needed to be stored in the refrigerator. The company is responsive. The air conditioner went out, and they had someone out to repair it within 2-3 hours. Would our family stay here again? Yes, we would because of the proximity to the ocean, and I would bring sheets to cover the older chairs in the living space which, to me, smelled of mildew.
