Overall, we liked our stay in this property. It was perfect for our family visit to PEI. Very close to Cavendish Beach and to Green Gables, which mightily pleased our granddaughter. It is very well equipped with lots of nice little touches. Bathrooms and kitchen were well stocked and supplied. The beds were comfortable - with the exception of the hide-a-bed (but those are seldom). The property is very quiet and secluded, in a nice area with only a few other cottages nearby. Lovely for walking around - very little traffic.

Enjoyed our stay

It was the end of summer so it was really quiet in the area. Thunder Cove beach is just beautiful for a stroll. The evening sunsets from the front veranda of the cottage were so perfect.

Well for the next time I think there should be a list of what they expect the person renting should do if anything before leaving the property.. like strip beds and pile dirty liens in one place sweep floors, run dishwasher thought .. and also directions on the TV how it works. There was three channel changers not sure what one went for what.. and clean the outside of the BBQ.. yes I would stay there again

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this, and we are really glad to hear you would stay with us again. That means a lot. On the checkout tasks, our approach is simple. While you are there we do ask guests to treat the place with care, the way you clearly did, and beyond that the cleaning fee covers the rest. So please never feel you need to strip beds, sweep floors, or run the dishwasher before you go. We would much rather you spend your time enjoying the property than tidying it. Take your things, lock up, and leave the rest to us. You are absolutely right about the remotes. Three is confusing, and we are in the middle of improving the entertainment setup at the cottage so it is much simpler to use. In the meantime we will put together a short guide so the next guests are not guessing. Good catch on the outside of the BBQ as well. We will make sure that gets added to the regular cleaning routine. Thank you again for the thoughtful notes and for being great guests. We would be happy to welcome you back anytime.

PEI Near water

Quiet, peaceful stay Nothing fancy but most of what you need.Best thing is it is a 5 minute ride or 20 minute walk to Thunder Cove Beech which is a fabulous beech. We spent time there very day - some days more than once.

PEI vacation

The property was very clean and comfortable, and the sunsets were gorgeous! Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We used this as our base from which we explored different parts of the island. We discussed a few concerns we had with the host, and he responded to them satisfactorily. We enjoyed our stay there very much. I’d rate this as a 9 out of 10.

Lovely cottage close to terrific beaches

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage in the Darnley area. Although it isn't on the water, it has a good view of the Darnley Basin and is across from a treed area. The neighbourhood is picturesque and quiet, and the red dirt roads are nice for a walk. We went to nearby Thunder Cove beach a number of times, along with Cabot Beach, and thought both were fantastic. It's also close to other amenities, like the Malpeque Oyster Barn (make reservations!) and the Darnley Greens. Alex was great to communicate with.

nice roomy cottage but needs a little work. Shed doors wont open, deck needs power wash a lot of moss, and the grass has not been cut for a long time.

Because Alex is so quick and thorough with communication, the check-in was seamless. GPS found the house easily. Cottage is clean, and well-stocked with herbs, spices, even olive oil!! Paper stock also good - all we had to buy was fresh groceries! The location was spectacular with its view of the mussel beds, comforting breezes and gorgeous sunsets. Website description regarding sleeping accommodations needs some tweaking, but 3 adults fit well, with one on sofa pullout in living room. I would use this site again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on PEI.

Clean as a whistle

The property was spotless and had everything we needed for a 4 day stay. The short road to get there from the main road was extremely rutted, but we just had to drive slow. We were happy that many beaches were a short drive from the cottage.
