Welcome to our cherished family retreat! We are proud new owners of this home, which has been in our family for four generations. Built in 1935, this house exudes historic charm and character. You can enjoy our private newly refinished double-decker pier with direct lake access, perfect for swimming, fishing, sunbathing, kayaking, boating and more.
With ample space for the entire family, the home features 4 queen beds, 4 bunk beds, one full-sized bed, and a pull-out couch. There are 5 bedrooms, including one private ensuite and 3 full bathrooms. BR1; 2 queen beds, BR 2; 1 queen bed, BR3; 1 queen bed BR4; 4 twin bunks BR5; private ensuite off the main house with full sized bed.
An ideal setting for big family gatherings, where you can create memories around the huge antique round dining table with a lake view next to the vintage wood stove. Sip your morning coffee on the screened-in porch and take advantage of the kids’ closet stocked with a pack-and-play, baby monitor, baby proofing & safety gates, games, toys, and more.
Work remotely from a dedicated workspace and access to a book library. Escape the hustle of everyday life and enjoy our quiet lake community.
This side of the lake boasts the best lakebed and a south-facing pier, providing the most stunning panoramic sunset views on Lake Waccamaw. Lake Waccamaw is known for its clean waters and soft sandy bottom; it is the largest freshwater natural lake in North Carolina.
The lake features a diverse ecosystem, so please be aware of the mayflies if you are considering a booking in May. Take a ride down the canals and admire the local Alligators in their natural habitat. Please note it is critical policy and against state laws to feed the gators. Explore Lake Waccamaw State Park or visit the Cape Fear Winery nearby or stay in and pick up some fresh local seafood and enjoy a low country boil using the provided stock pot.
We also offer a large HDTV smart TV with free YouTube TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, pet-friendly accommodations (with a deposit), a charcoal grill, a spacious parking area, a luxury coffee maker, central AC, and an on-site washer and dryer.
This home comfortably sleeps 14. Any additional guest must be approved by the host 24hrs prior to arrival.
The kids closet is in the upstairs bunk room. Here you will find various baby/kid supplies. Baby gates (can be used for pets also). Baby monitor, pack and play, miscellaneous kids toys and books. Please use items with care and replace items prior to check out
as you found them.
We want your entire family including your furry friends to have a wonderful stay! Our residence is pet friendly. Please know pets stay in this home occasionally. The deposit for pet fee is 75$ for up to 2 pets. After 2 pets it is an additional 50$ upon request/review per booking. Please use baby gates to keep pets off the carpet and downstairs only and pick up any feces from the lawn. Any indoor pet excrimate will be subject to a 100$ a pet fee. By booking with us, you AGREE to this pet fee, as well as a damage waiver if any pet-related damage occurs during your stay, authorizing VRBO to remit payment requested after requesting it first from you.
We provide all sheets and bath towels. We suggest you bring your own beach towels. Please use black makeup towels for makeup and kitchen cleaning rags for spills.
REMINDER: Any hazardous body fluids, blood stains, feces, urine spray tan residue, is subject to the 500$ hazardous cleaning fee mandated by the cleaners.
NO SMOKING INSIDE OR ON THE PROPERTY. Smoking is permitted on the dock and absolutely NO trash in the lake. Including smoking/ cigarette paraphernalia.
There are 2 nearby boat ramps. You may bring your own boat. If you plan to bring your boat please reach out for tips.
Fishing is allowed off the dock, you can find several species, most commonly white perch and bass. Please do not throw any trash in the lake.
Do not feed the alligators along the canal or throw any objects into the canal. It is not common for alligators to enter the lake; swimming is permitted off the dock. Not only is feeding wildlife against state law it creates dangerous situations for both humans and animals.Violating this law can result in legal penalties, fines, and puts the safety of everyone at risk.
The lake is very shallow, no diving or jumping off the top deck. Children must be accompanied at all times when near water and crossing the street
The water level in the plumbing is high due to the house being closer to the water level. Tubs, toilets, showers sinks may drain slowly. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper.
A dedicated workstation is a fold down desk beside the front door. If you take a book, please replace it with one to leave for future guests to enjoy.
A charcoal grill is located near the trash cans beside the parking slab. A stock pot with propane burner is available on the back porch. You will need to bring your own propane and charcoal to use these amenities.
