Peaceful Lakefront Cottage

Lacus Vitae is our family’s happy place and we want to make it yours as well! Here you’ll find a newly remodeled lakefront cottage that allows you to truly enjoy all that Lake Waccamaw has to offer. Lake Waccamaw is the largest of the natural Carolina Bay lakes with a perfect pH.
Our lakefront home is located 39 miles west of Wilmington and only 35 minutes off I-95. Lake Waccamaw State Park is 6 miles away where you will find trails to hike and learn about the plants and animals that are only found in or around the lake, the boat landing is a mile from the house and the pier is right out the backdoor where you can sip coffee as you watch a beautiful sunrise or sit back and relax. Let us make our home yours, take a vacation and relax.

What a lovely place! The lake is gorgeous and the area is quiet and not touristy at all. Very relaxing. The cottage has huge windows facing the lake with gorgeous views. The dock was a wonderful place to watch the sunrise in the morning and the stars overhead at night. We would definitely like to return at a different time of year to experience the lake in another season. It's a hidden gem!

This was exactly what we were looking for; a cozy lake house to get away from things and fish. The kids had a blast. There was plenty of space for the four of us to hang out. There were games available and the smart tv made for a relaxing evening after fishing. The kids were very excited about the bunk beds as well! Town was close by and the grocery store had any odds and ends we forgot. Had great conversation with the neighbor two doors down as well. One tip for would be renters, the front door sticks a bit, don’t be like me and think the code didn’t work the first couple times…. Push hard. Check-in was seamless and the host was great in answering any questions. We lived our time at the house and would certainly look to book again!

Lake stay

This place is wonderful. The host is so nice and super quick to respond. The house is clean and comfortable and the lake is so quiet and relaxing. The swing on the dock is a dream. We look forward to this stay every summer.

Always a pleasant stay!

This is our second stay here and we enjoyed as much as the first time. The owner is very responsive and friendly. Having easy access to the lake via a well-maintained pier is such a nice feature. Definitely a nice place to get away and relax

Beautiful and serene

We love staying here. The lake is peaceful and the property is beautiful and clean. The dock is lovely and well-maintained. The swing is probably my favorite place, which works out well because the sunrises and the stars are incredible. The host is quick to reply and super nice.

A weekend getaway for a wedding

It was perfect, we didn’t want to leave! Relaxing lake house with kayaks, grill, etc. free for the guest to use. We ate at Dale’s seafood and Gwens diner, both were delicious! Excellent communication with host and cleanliness of house. Great place for a relaxing vacation. We will be coming back soon!

Lake to Lake

My golfing buddy and I have homes on a lake in Upstate South Carolina. Every year we travel to the Coastal Plains region of southeastern North Carolina for a golfing vacation. Whiteville does not have an abundance of vacation rentals. A decent motel room in that area is hard to come by. We hit the jackpot when we found this Lakefront Cottage. It’s comfortable, peaceful, quiet and within close proximity to golf. This is the second time we stayed here and we plan to return in the fall.
