Did not disappoint

Second year in a row staying at this beautiful property. Very well equipped and spacious condo. Has everything you could possibly need. Very quiet. Nice large pool. Convenient location to everything Marathon had to offer. Able to take public transportation from Marathon to Key West. No hassle and only cost $1.50!

Not what we thought it would be

Property for sleeping was good, sofas were not very comfortable, could have more outside porch seating, kitchen items could have been updated. There was no going in the ocean at property since there was so much seaweed you did not want to get in. Had to go to the public beach and pay to park to get in the water. Was not allowed to park under building only out in parking lot and in the sun. Not what we expected from the pictures and description.

Excellent choice!

Couldn’t have picked a better property for our first stay in Marathon. Condo was beautiful, bright and modern. Furnishings were very nice and comfortable. Has every amenity you could think of. All linens were included which was nice. Plenty of bath towels and wash cloths…and heavy too. So many great beach towels too. It was impeccably cleaned. Couldn’t find a speck of dust anywhere. Sitting on the outside patio felt like sitting on a cruise ship. You were right at the waters edge. Pool was heated and very nice. Plenty of lounge chairs. There is a woman who lives on sites who takes care of things and sweeps the property and pool area daily so it is always clean. Beach is right there and always empty. Not great to swim in. We didn’t care. Just one thing that was different from on line photos is there is a regular coffee pot now and not a Kurig. I had brought down Kcups to use…no big deal…just giving you a heads up. Plenty of choices for dining. Took public transit to Key West one day. Easy to use. Only cost us $1.00 each each way -yes we qualified for senior rate - but normal fare is $4.00 each way. Once you get to Key West there is a free shuttle to get you around. So easy. Save on gas and not to mention parking fees. The real estate agency who handles the property for the owner was very attentive and responsive both before and during our stay. Very friendly staff. Already have said if we go back next year we would definitely book this condo again.

Very relaxing beach stay in great location!

This is an older property but in a great location with beautiful view of the ocean. You'll feel like you are actually sitting on a cruise ship because the ocean is almost directly under the balcony. Marathon has many wonderful restaurants very close to the condo. Pool was nice. Our dryer did not work all week but the property manager was so good communicating about it really can't say that was a negative. Surfaces, especially the floors, were very clean. On the negative side, the quality (and quantity) of the bedding/towels & the clutter in closets and drawers were a little irritating. The 2nd bedroom sheets were worn thin and had that polyester "peeling" that comes after many washes. There were very few wash rags - only 4 total in a condo with 4 people. It also would have been nice to have at least a small amount of dish liquid to begin with. The closets had random totes with extra sheets, etc. There were men's shoes in our closet and old clocks, pictures/decorations in the bedside tables and closets. Check out procedures ask you to start the laundry and leave no more than 3 loads for the housekeeper --- we didn't have to do that because of the dryer situation but I would have been irritated to have to go out and buy laundry detergent just to help the cleaning crew with their job. A substantial cleaning fee is charged with the rental. Overall we would definitely return to this unit.

Beautiful Views and Great Decor!

Loved the beach themed decorations throughout the home and the view was fantastic! We saw a pod of dolphins the first morning very close to shore. We did try to snorkel once from the beach but didn’t see a lot. Others seemed to have better luck with that one. Yes - there is a smell of rotting seaweed from time to time. This is true throughout the keys. But it was not overwhelming. They came through and plowed the beach on a regular basis so it was in pretty good condition. Overall our stay was very relaxing and we would return!

Outstanding view

Despite the chilly weather (had to turn on the furnace, sadly), we enjoyed our stay. The view is magnificent and the beach is lovely...filled with tiny shells and well maintained. There are some wonderful restaurants in Marathon; FL Steak and Seafood was our best meal in the Keys. Thank you for great week in a quiet, spacious condo.

Quiet place to unwind and recharge

The end of October proved to be the perfect time to stay. Amazing weather and very few people at the building provided the perfect setting to recharge the body. The unit has everything included in the kitchen that one could ask for (loved the owner's choice of stoneware) so meal prep was very easy. The bedrooms were very nice. The 2nd bedroom is darker being on the side away from the ocean with great closet space. The front (oceanside) bedroom is amazing for the sounds of the ocean and it's very large. Beds are very comfortable. Leslie makes the entire process easy for reserving and checking in and even calls you during your stay to see if there are any issues. Julpha in the office is also very knowledgeable and great to work with. In my mind that is great customer service. Marathon is the perfect spot being only 45 minutes or so from Key West making frequent day trips easy. If you don't plan on going to Mallory Square in Key West for the sunset go to Sunset Grille and Raw Bar at the start of the 7 mile bridge. The 2nd best place for viewing the sunset in the keys with great food and drinks. If you've never stayed in Marathon before, this is a great place to relax at and use as your base. The Sea Turtle Hospital should definitely be on your to do list and join the local FB group to get more ideas from the locals who know the area best. Relax and recharge at Coco Plum-you won't be disappointed!

We loved the location of our condo. Very neat, clean and comfortable. We spent many hours on the deck hoping to see dolphins. The seaweed was a bit of a distraction, at least it wasn’t too smelly. We would definitely come back.

We had an incredible week at this condo. Amazing corner views on the top floor made it seem like we were literally staying on the ocean. Relaxing pool right on the beach. True Old Florida Charm with Modern Amenities

This place was exactly what we were looking for: Old Florida with modern amenities and positioned perfectly in the middle of everything the Keys has to offer. Yes grass washes up on the beach, but a guy comes by daily on a large tractor and does his best to clean it up in the mornings. It's a natural occurrence...and we came down here to experience mother nature. The pool is nice and clean and right on the beach. The views from the balcony are stunning. The condo itself was recently renovated, so everything in it is new. It was beautiful, comfortable for 6 of us, and provided us with more than just a place to rest our heads. It honestly felt like home. The beds were comfy, as was the rest of the furniture in the house. The balcony furniture could use an upgrade, but still wasn't bad. You can tell that the property as a whole is still cleaning up from the hurricane less than a year ago. There are some things that need to be done, but they are actively working on it. We spent a week here with our small boat. There is no room for trailer parking, but there are a couple of nice marinas on the same street as the condo. In the mornings I would bring my boat around and anchor it right off the condo on the beach. This made everything so easy. We would walk down to the boat and take off for the morning to snorkel and dive Coffins Patch (which is only 4 miles directly off of the beach there), come back for lunch and a quick dip in the pool, and take off again for some fishing or a sunset cruise. The location for a boater is great because you can pull right up to your condo and unload/reload for whatever you wanted to do next. Access to the gulf side is just a couple of canals down. A fuel dock, dive shop, bait & tackle, and everything else you need is only a couple of minutes away...by boat. We stayed during the mini lobster season but the condo remained quiet and relaxing, away from all of the commotion that usually follows the mini season. We had so much fun that we rolled our deposit over for a stay there next year. If you are coming down to the Keys looking for a resort, move along. If you want Old Florida charm and relaxation with everything the Keys has to offer right out of your backdoor, then this is a great place to stay. I recommend this place to anyone, and am already planning and looking forward to next year's stay here.

Beautiful condo inside, horrible outside.

The beach and smell from the rotting sargasso algae is unbearable. The condo does nothing to clean to beach area in front of the condo or the sespool behind it. The algae is piled up and full of trash and broken glass making it unable to use the beach. The condo photos are old and not a true reflection of the property and beach. I specifically chose this property for the beach and was disgusted upon arrival. There are broken tiles around the pool, the exterior needs repairs, the landscaping needs attention, and all the trash needs to be cleaned up! I informed the rental company and they didn’t seem to care. This property was not worth what we paid nightly!! This condo inside is beautiful and very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the entire place was very clean. There were beach towels and toys available to use as well. The pool is shaded in the afternoon which was nice and had lots of chairs for lounging. Beautiful quiet condo. VRBO charges a rental fee along with the rental company. Not an actual direct book, they just forward your request. The rental Company was a hassle to deal with.

Thank you for staying with us. We are very glad you were happy with the inside on the property. The owners did a complete remodel last year including the kitchens and bathrooms and replaced all furnishings. The views here are really unbeatable. I am sorry if you did not like dealing with our office. Most of the property owners who rent their homes here do not live here. Our office schedules all cleaning and maintenance. We are also available 24 hours a day in case of an emergency. We have a full time maintenance person and full time cleaners who do an excellent job. I am sorry that you were not happy with the outside of the property. The Florida Keys are a very natural environment with shallow waters. When we get a strong south wind, the sea grass does blow in. It’s not uncommon in the summer months that we have a strong south wind. This year, there is a heavy sargassum loading. The last time we experienced this was in 2015. It doesn’t just affect us here in the Florida Keys, but other parts of the coast of Florida as well. In the Florida Keys, when we experience prevailing winds from the south and southeast, these massive floating mats of sargassum that have broken free from the circling gyre of the Sargasso Sea are washed onto shore with the wind and waves. Historically, washed-up sargassum is one of the ways beaches were created in the Florida Keys, as the accumulation of seaweed along the shoreline helps to keep the sand from eroding and provides nutrients to help en¬rich the soil. If you come in the winter months, you will find a beautiful, white sandy beach. It’s very common to find the sea grass in the summer months, however, this summer it’s a little heavier than usual.

Perfect beach vacation

This property exceeded our expectations. The condo was beautiful with so many honey touches. You can tell that the owners love their vacation home. The beach is steps away and is beautiful to walk on any time of the day. The complex has only 16 units and was very quiet. This place was perfect for us.

Great location!

Very clean. Great view of the beach and ocean (4th floor). Nicely decorated and recently remodeled. Lots of activities and great restaurants in the Marathon area.

Condo was nice but the beach was in bad shape

The condo was nice but a list of available tv channels would have been helpful. The beach really, really needed to be cleaned of sea grass on a regular basis. It would have been nice to have kayaks and bikes available to the unit.

The Great Escape!

This was our third stay in this condo unit on quiet Coco Plum Beach. Since we were there last the whole complex has had an exterior uplift and the interior space has seen newly renovated bathrooms, fresh paint, beautiful new living room furniture and ceiling fans. The condo has a comfortable, spacious, fresh, vacation feel to it and the view when you walk in the door will make your jaw drop! Honestly, the sunrises from the porch are some of the most beautiful we've ever seen. It's a very special unit because of its corner location which allows a greater view from inside (additional windows) as well as from the outside ocean view porch. Yes, I mentioned the porch. It was particularly calm the week we were there and while having coffee most mornings we would spot all kinds of ocean life in the water right in front of the condo. Besides a manatee, nurse shark, and some variety of a Ray there were dolphins that found a school of fish and we got to observe their feeding strategy and a couple of them actually breeched a few times! (heaven on earth). The guys took their poles down to the shore daily and caught a wide variety of fish right in front of the complex. And yes, we women watched the excitement from our comfortable lounge chairs under the grassroof cabana! There is as little or as much to do as your heart desires in Marathon, kayak and fishing excursions, Turtle Hospital, walking and biking trails, and specialty shops. The restaurants are local treasures. One of our favorites, Island Fish, is a 5 minute drive . Also try Sparky's and Lazy Days for dinner and Burdines and Key Fisheries for lunch. They are all fun. This condo is a full five stars in our book. Beautiful atmosphere, comfortable beds, very well stocked kitchen, wifi, big screen tv, games and books. It provides everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable vacation getaway.

Wonderful Vacation!

The condo is beautiful and is steps from the ocean! Enjoyed drinking my morning coffee off the balcony with an incredible view of the ocean! The location is great and easy to get around to the local restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores. Also a great area to explore nearby scenic attractions! We can't thank you enough! It was hard to leave!

Relaxing escape!

This was my first experience vacationing in the Keys and it will not be my last! I had a wonderful time in Marathon and the surrounding area. Lots of places to see, explore and enjoy. The condo was in the perfect location to enjoy the ocean views, the beach, and the attractions near by. I spent time at the beach right outside the condo which was very peaceful and convenient, as well as Sombrero Beach (a 10 min. drive). The condo is also close to a great grocery store, Publix, a Walgreens, gas stations, ice cream, restaurants and local attractions. I drove to the 7 Mile Bridge to run and walk, which was a beautiful place to exercise. I saw many fish and a string ray the day I was there! The condo itself is a bright, open, cheery place with lots of room and comfortable sleeping and living accommodations. I loved the master bedroom with the large window and the sound of the waves at night.The kitchen was roomy with a large, welcoming dining area and counter area. It was also very convenient to have Wi-Fi access in the condo for laptops and phones. Overall, I would highly recommend this condo, the location, and the FL Keys as an incredible vacation experience! I look forward to returning!
