Perfect place to stay

We had an amazing time on our trip to Montana. The cabin was perfect for our two small families and conveniently located to many different towns and activities. John was super attentive to our questions and needs. Fantastic setting -- We're ready to book again!

What a beautiful place!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great for proximity to Glacier, which is the main reason we vacationed in this area. You're within 2 hours of multiple places to go / see. The view is spectacular and the deck is awesome - we loved just spending time on the deck and admiring the lake and the mountains in the background. It is secluded and quiet - just the way we like it! We would definitely stay here again - just gorgeous!

I really appreciate folks like Jack and his Family , went Non-Stop seeing Glacier , Natl. Bison Park , East Glacier and more ; had a great appreciation for my Hand-Crafted Cabin , the Quality , the View , and the very Peaceful and Private setting - they were a Joy to have !

Unbelievable Views!

This is an amazing creation and work of art -- so excited to introduce my sons to a real log cabin on a mountain. You are truly away from it all with unbelievable views from the enormous deck on the back. John is very friendly and easy to work with. We used this for our home base while visiting Glacier. I was very pleased that we chose to stay here.

Stellar view of Flathead Lake from afar!

The view overlooking Flathead Lake from 1500’ above in the timber was stellar, especially watching a storm roll in with lightning on the lake. The construction design and owner shared pictures of the building process made the experience more memorable. Our visits and conversations with the host allowed us to feel more at home.

Amazing

What an amazing experience. This was our first visit to Montana and the Flathead Valley. Incredible, and John's cabin made the experience perfect. Start the day with breakfast on the deck and end the day with dinner and drinks on the deck. We can and did spend many evenings just staring at Flathead Lake and the Mountains. We're already planning our return and just hope that John's cabin will be available.

The home was great. Outstanding views of Flathead Lake!! The bees were bad (not the owners fault).

While it was not a problem, it should have been disclosed that the property owner lives in the basement with access via a separate entrance. Had we known that, we probably would have rented a different home. The road up to the home was not the smoothest.

Breathtaking!

I am from MT myself, my Husband and I had flown in from Australia as we prepared for our MT wedding. He booked this extraordinary place because it had the perfect amount of room for two other couples, who were part of our wedding party, and us. As soon as we stepped foot into the cabin we were blown away (Especially me! I couldn't believe he booked such a stunning place). Everything looked utterly polished! The owner was quite lovely and tried to go over everything with us so as not to miss any detail (which we appreciate). It was perfect because we were quite close to my family in the surrounding areas, yet tucked away with a magnificent view. We found the rules to be incredibly easy to abide by and overall, we simply loved our stay!

Beautiful Log Cabin in the Mountains

While we enjoyed the cabin and the beautiful views from the deck we didn't feel like we had the privacy we were looking forward to. I found out two days prior to our trip that the owner lived in the lower lever of the cabin by reading someone else's review. It was a little strange staying in the master bedroom knowing that his apartment was directly below our room. This also meant that I was not comfortable opening the blinds in our room because his private entrance was outside the master bedroom. Having said all this, John (the owner) was very nice and accommodating.

It's interesting to note 2 Guests were not comfortable with my Private Apartment ( not under the M. Bedroom ) w/ Private entrance ; while 98% of my Guests love their Stay , the Environment , and are Secure in their Relationship to have complete Privacy and Enjoyment in my Hand-Crafted Cabin . It's Odd cuz, She requested more Time here, I even Discounted an Additional Nite to her for 50% off . The House Rules , call for No Smoking , while She must have over-looked that Rule ; I never called her on it ! While I strive to please all Guests , it's tough to please all .

Great Cabin and Views!

My husband and I stayed at John’s cabin for our Anniversary. It was beyond what we expected! The location was wonderful! The view of Flathead Lake was beautiful! John was a great host and we would for sure stay again! John does live in the basement of the home, but he is very respectful of your privacy and he is also very informative of the area if you want information. We traveled with another couple and we all liked that the master bedroom was separated from the other bedrooms. The bottle of wine John had for us when we arrived was very thoughtful and we enjoyed it sitting on the fabulous deck! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling to the Flathead Lake area! The only thing we might recommend is a hot tub on that wonderful deck. It would be a nice touch to have on those chilly evenings! 😉 Thanks again for opening your cabin to us and for the hospitality, John!

Beautiful cabin. Beautiful views

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived with how beautiful the cabin was. Was tucked away on top of the hill and very peaceful. The cabin is absolutely amazing and even better in person than in the picture. And the view is to die for. The only thing we were dissapointed in was that we did not have the cabin completely to ourselves. We did not realize that the owner lived in the basement. There was a Separate entrance however we still felt a bit uncomfortable. We may have missed this in the posting so this may be our fault however reading the details now I still do not know it was clearly outlined. John was friendly and never a bother but we probably wouldn’t have booked it had we known this. The only other comment was that the details indicated 4 bedrooms however there are only 3 but with 4 beds. This is fine however we had booked this with the thought that everyone would get their own room so we were a bit Disappointed. My rating on the cabin itself is definitely a 4-5 star. Sitting on the deck looking at the view was our favourite part. Can’t beat those lake/mountain views.

I'm surprised Nancy never expressed being uncomfortable to me , I take seriously the Privacy and Atmosphere of each Guest - why I don't bother them , although they have access to my Cell 24/7 . The advertising of a 4 bedroom , was simply an Error , and has been corrected . The Cabin is advertised on 4 Vacation Home Sites as a 3 Bedroom ,sleeping 7 persons . Most people simply Rave about my Cabin , the Spectacular View , the Peacefulness, My Helpfulness , Response and Cleanliness, and are Quite happy w/ their Privacy of the Cabin . In the future I'll have to make sure there are no Errors in the Listing , to insure a more Quality experience for my Guests !

Great cabin & location. Comes with an irritable owner.

Cabin and location are beautiful. However, one of the first things the property owner mentioned upon arrival was the fact that we came from "a liberal town." Almost every encounter with the property owner was turned into a political conversation, and it made us on-edge. The cabin is fantastic, and John built it himself. Amazing craftsmanship, comfy beds, great views, etc.. If you're conservative go for it. If you want a secluded private cabin without the worry of someone watching your moves, don't go for it.

Sam + Friends had a difficult time Observing House Rules ; A friend of his showed up w/ 2 Large Dogs - I promptly reminded him , Animals were not allowed on the Property and this was on the Website and He acknowledged He read this - Yet was willing to Dis-Respect House Rules ; the next day another Friend of his showed up w/ the Same Dogs On-site ! Sam is Not Welcome Back .

Kayln and Family were very Friendly , and enjoyed that - they certainly were the Vacation Warriors - seeking all the Gems in and around Glacier Natl. Park , I'm sure they enjoyed the One-of-kind Cabin as well - and respected the House Rules - and I welcome them back anytime !

Lisa , Steve and Family , were Perfect Guest , running like Crazy seeing all the Sites around Glacier Natl. Park - and really enjoyed my " Hand Crafted Cabin " , and the VIEW ! They were Friendly , enjoyed the Quality , and kept the House Rules !

The view of Flathead Lake from the deck of the cabin is breathtaking.

Overall the cabin was exactly as listed with a spectacular view of Flathead lake from the living room and deck. The owner John was very friendly and helpful, and obviously takes pride in his cabin and is continuing to improve it even from the listing. The gas grill and fridge on the deck make it a great place to enjoy the amazing setting. We had deer grazing just below is on a couple occasions, and saw them every time we went up and down the road to the cabin. The location is pretty convenient if you like a variety of activities. We rented a pontoon one day in Big Arm, and spent 5 hours on the lake and Wild Horse island, where we saw a herd of Big Horn sheep and quite a few mule deer. It's also not too far from the West entrance of the park.

It seemed quite apparent Bruce, Sandy and Family enjoyed not only the Cabin , but the Activities around the Flathead Valley incl. Glacier Natl. Park, it was a pleasure having them .

Beautiful secluded home base for a trip to Glacier NP/Flat Head Lake

Amazing real log cabin with incredible construction and amazing view. Great place for a family vacation!!!

Magnificent cabin in the woods, spectacular view; John was awesome

Loved the cabin, very clean and had everything you would need. John was assiduously attentive to our comfort and wishes. The cabin and location had a very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely book again. Thanks John for sharing your pride and joy with us.

Marvin and Mary were great to have , to go out and Enjoy the Country on Harley's ; and then take in the Guided Fishing on the Flathead - caught some Lunkers ! Great to have , will always be welcome !

Absolutely Bueatiful!

Stunning views and Log Home. Cozy beds with huge rooms and walk in closets in every bedroom. Will stay again and highly recommend to others. Outstanding!
