After booking for 6 guests & paying in full, the host informed me that the charged amount was not her standard rate, which is for four guests, & requested an additional 120. I questioned this, stating we booked within budget, & she claimed an error with the listing. She offered to charge 60 instead, but I found this unfair since the issue was between her & the app. Her reasoning for the extra fee was increased laundry & pool maintenance, which seemed unreasonable as the house should be cleaned regardless of guest count. Customer service resolved the issue by paying the extra fee, which I found unprofessional on her part. Upon arrival, we discovered unmentioned cameras and noise monitors, it felt intrusive. During my birthday weekend, 2 extra guests visited, and the host insisted on charging for them, even though they weren’t staying. We added them to the booking and invited them to stay. The cleanliness was poor, with towels having hairs, a smelly blanket, and dirty dishes. On the 2nd day, the host contacted me about music volume, claiming it was loud from camera footage, despite it being at a reasonable level. She later accused us of tampering with a camera, which we disproved with a video. She insisted on quiet hours starting at 10 PM, which wasn’t in the listing, making us feel unwelcome. Overall, the stay was unpleasant due to constant surveillance, poor cleanliness, and the host’s focus on extra charges rather than maintaining standards. Will not return.
