Hola! Me llamo Mateo. I am a world traveler and have visited Isla Mujeres more times than I can recall over a 20 year period. I have stayed in almost every hotel and casita on Isla but have always loved the Caribbean-side neighborhood of Meteorológico because of the breezes, the sound of the waves, the quiet eateries and the amicable people. I hope you find Isla as sublime a destination as I always do. This is not just a place to stay, but a place to escape and immerse yourself in the Isla experience.

Your stay will be on the 2nd floor of our villa. All suites have separate entrances and are not otherwise connected.

The 2nd Floor Suite has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a large balcony that overlooks the Caribbean.

Upon booking, you will receive a welcome email and we will be happy to start answering your pre-trip questions. On the island, you will be greeted at the house in-person by our concierge who will walk you through the property and help get you situated. Questions during your stay can be sent to the concierge via email or What's App.

*We highly recommend downloading What's App to your smart phone. This is the preferred method of communication while on Isla*

The villa will be freshly cleaned prior to your arrival including new linens, bath and beach towels. To give our guests privacy and to be environmentally friendly, house cleanings will occur at the end of a guest's stay or every 7 days if you are staying for longer than a week. New towels and additional cleanings can be provided upon request for a nominal fee. You will be responsible for bringing your own trash to a conveniently located bin right outside the front door. (Garbage bags provided)

Beach: There is access to the beach out front for wading, chilling and sunning. The rocky descent is ~200ft away outside of the villa. If you have a difficult time navigating normal stairs or have any kind of mobility issues, we do not recommend using this route. Directions to the beach: Walk out of the house and turn left. There is an “alley” between the house next door and Casa Perla, take a left there. Go to the end and make a right onto the grass of Casa Perla. On the left there are natural stone "steps" down to the beach (watch out for iguana poop). Feel free to bring a cooler, the beach chairs etc. Water shoes are recommended for wading and swimming. If it’s a calm day, it’s a great spot to snorkel from. We’ve seen turtles, rays, tons of fish etc.

Full kitchen includes full size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, dishes, pots & pans, utensils and silverware - everything you need to make great family meals! There is unlimited filtered water via a water dispenser.

The house has decent WIFI for streaming your favorite programs and movies. The Island internet can be finicky and WIFI, unfortunately, in the first amenity lost in bad weather. Our concierge will do their best to restore service when possible but understand this is not a Casa Roca Caribe thing, its an island thing. We encourage our guests to log into their own Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Prime etc. Just remember to log out when you depart!

Owners Note:
I took over the house from the former owners in Dec 2022 and have started the slow process of updating this unique, oceanside villa. I am hoping to create a laid-back, warm, simple yet inviting location that you can spend a day or twelve exploring the island, sampling the food, meeting the locals and hopefully detaching from "real life" for a while. In conjunction with our professional concierge - Mundaca Realty - I hope to assist your "off the beaten path" adventure while allowing you the privacy to experience the island on your own time.
