This beautiful 1920s home is full of character with original woodwork and hardwood floors newly refinished. It has 4 bedrooms upstairs with the full bath central to all of them.
2 king rooms, one queen room, one bunk room with 3 twins. Basement also has a sofa sleeper in the game room. Also a queen air mattress.
Game room has tv and infrared fireplace. Game table and chairs. Full sized air hockey table. Tabletop game consul with vintage street fighter video game.
Newly remodeled kitchen with a half bath off of it. New appliances. Fully stocked for all your needs.
Beautiful covered front porch with table and chairs and outdoor sofa. Back yard is fully fenced with 6 ft wood privacy fence. Very nice grill and patio table and sectional sofa seating. Swing set in back as well.
Right off I235 and 31st Street exit so close to everything in the Des Moines metro by Drake University.

The smell from the damp basement was literally overwhelming when we arrived. I can’t imagine how you categorized anything as a bedroom down there. My grandson and his wife moved to a cleaner environment the next morning. My other grandson has small children and the small room upstairs did work for them; although the top bunk was perilously close to the ceiling fan. Not sure when the front porch was last cleaned. We were going to heat a frozen breakfast for the little kids and the microwave didn’t work. Other than that we didn’t eat there. Well, they didn’t get to either I guess. Sorry but it was a ton of money and we spent very little time there for the smell.

Wow I’m so sorry we have never heard anything like that from any of our guests who have all given 5 star reviews. My cleaners actually said you left stains all over the beds and sheets and duvet covers and towels etc. I wonder if the smell was from your trash all over the house. The basement is listed as a game room and it has a sofa sleeper. My family actually lived there for 8 years and never had any type of smell and none of our other guests have ever reported that either. We had no idea about a microwave issue and a rainy spring season prevented the patio furniture cushions from being set out and full spring cleaning to be done yet as we stated during your stay as well. So sorry you are angry about the value of the booking you made and these unfortunate issues are not representative of a normal stay as is seen by all the other reviews and how we strive to provide the best experience possible. The price is clearly stated before you booked it so not sure why the booking price is even an issue deserving of your poor rating especially after so much damage was done by you and your guests. We are always available to address any issues and never heard anything about these things during your stay. We strive to communicate well with our guests and it’s unfortunate and hurtful to my family to receive this unfair rating as the only communication from you.

What a Gem!

Lovely property with a nice back yard and a great front porch. Beds are comfortable and owners are responsive. Kitchen is well set up with new appliances. We used all four bedrooms and the sofa bed in the game room - all were great. Highly recommended - will hopefully visit again next time we're in Des Moines.

House was perfect. Everyone had a great time and Ryan was SUPER ACCOMMODATING. Couldn't have asked for better communication. Would recommend this stay to family and friends. Would love a 2nd shower.

Bachlorette Party Success

It was my daughter's bachlorette party and I had the task of booking a house to stay in for the girls. This house holds a lot of people and there was wonderful space. The house had so much character which was lovely to look at and experience. The area is in the Drake area but in a very nice, safe area that makes you feel comfortable. Owners were nice people. Highly suggest them for your large gathering needs. :)
