Yeates Schoolhouse was restored using as much of the original material as possible; from the stones in the foundation, to the interior wooden walls and trim. The hardwood floors were cut and milled from hickory trees we harvested right here on our farm. Other material was utilized from a century old barn from the Kessler Farm in Augusta, MO. We also used materials that were salvaged from buildings built in the late 1800s in downtown New Haven, MO. Our authentic slate chalkboard once hung in an 1800's school in Augusta, MO.
