The Space:

On entering the cabin, you're greeted by a breathtaking, cathedral-esque grand room with floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights that flood the space with natural light, offering picturesque views of the surrounding woods. This spacious area is perfect for gathering with loved ones, working remotely, playing games, or enjoying dinner around the table. The open-plan living and dining area, complete with a cozy wood-burning stove, sets the stage for memorable moments.



The kitchen is a cook's delight, offering a beautiful view of the top deck. It comes fully equipped with all the essentials, including a large fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave, ensuring you have everything you need to prepare delicious meals.



Darby Cabin features two thoughtfully designed bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom, located downstairs, is a chic and private haven with an en-suite bathroom, opening onto a porch and sauna for ultimate relaxation. The second bedroom, a cozy retreat, is perched in the lofted space above the living room.



Outside, take advantage of the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Enjoy the upper deck with string lights and a cozy table for morning coffee or evening relaxation. The porch off the master bedroom leads to a beautiful wooden deck, complete with a swing seat, picnic bench for outdoor dining, a firepit, and a wood-burning barrel sauna - the perfect rejuvenating experience after a long day!

The Neighborhood:

As you approach Darby Cabin from NYC you will drive over the Hawks Nest Highway (very Cali!) high above the Delaware River and the views are astounding.



While the house is private and tucked away, we are located just 7min from Barryville where you can visit the Barryville General for local supplies, Stickett Inn for a cocktail, the Farmers Market on Saturdays (May-Oct), The Blue Fox for dinner, and Barryville Bottle for liquor/wine. We are also 25min from Narrowsburg - an adorable town perfect for an afternoon out! The Launderette for pizza is our favorite.



If getting out on the river is your thing in summer, there are a ton of options for rafting/tubing and it's so much fun floating down the river on a glorious afternoon. There are some great local hikes too!



Getting Around:

Darby Cabin is just 2 hours from New York City and you'll definitely want a car to get there and around the area—enjoy the scenic drive through Hawks Nest Highway and easily explore neighboring towns and activities. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.



While driving is recommended for convenience, you can also take a train from New York to Port Jervis, followed by a 20-minute taxi ride.

SAFETY NOTE: Sauna usage is at your own risk, please adhere to the safety instructions inside the sauna, do not consume alcohol or drugs during use. Seek a doctors opinion if you are unsure whether you should use it. Please contact host for any questions.



NOTE: This home is not equipped with air conditioning. Fans are provided in each bedroom for your comfort.
