Enjoy two master suites with King beds and luxurious ensuite bathrooms, including large indoor/outdoor showers and an outdoor tub. The downstairs bunk room sleeps 6 and has a large ensuite bathroom and private patio that opens onto a grassy lawn, perfect for volleyball, badminton or just hanging out. Lake Cote has long been a spiritual center for the indigenous Maleku and other tribes across Central and South America. In the Maleku language, Cote means peace and love. It is also famous for the National Geographic Institute of Costa Rica’s 1971 photograph of a UFO/OVNI exiting the lake, adding intrigue and mystery to your stay.

A SPECIAL NOTE:

Please remember that you are vacationing in the Cloud Forest. We are near the Continental Divide, and Costa Rica has many microclimates that create unique weather patterns. There will be rain :) The “dry-er” season is December–April. We provide rain boots, swim shoes, umbrellas and rain gear for most adults and some child sizes. There will also be wind; you will see beautiful windmills on the horizon over Lake Arenal. The house sits at 2,700 feet above sea level.

If you wake up in a cloud with rain, it does not mean you need to cancel your plans. It may be dry at the bottom of the road or in La Fortuna, and vice versa. Weather apps are not very accurate in this area. Tours and activities usually continue in the rain as long as conditions are safe. Just call your tour provider.

We recommend renting a small SUV-style car for driving in Costa Rica, especially in this area. You do not need a 4x4 to reach the house, but a higher-clearance vehicle such as a RAV4 is recommended. When you turn off the main paved road, it becomes a groomed dirt/rock road. Most of Costa Rica does not have traditional addresses, so we will send a location pin and detailed directions before arrival.

There will be bugs outside that may sometimes get inside, especially if doors are left open or outside lights are left on.

Brief power outages are rare but can happen in Costa Rica. We provide flashlights, candles and a backup battery for the refrigerator. While we cannot control these things, we have a full staff only a phone call away to help with anything you need.

We offer full concierge service. Our Property Manager, Patrick, will meet you and help with check-in. He can arrange adventure days, recommend the best places to shop and dine, and help plan activities before arrival or once you are settled into Casa Tres Vistas. If something happens and you need guidance, call Patrick. Consider him your “friend in the area,” ready to help make your stay personalized and unforgettable.
